Abstract: An overhead light fixture includes a driver assembly and a light-emitting assembly. The driver assembly includes a driver and a housing. The light-emitting assembly is operably connected to the driver and configured for downward emission of light from a light source of the light-emitting assembly. The light-emitting assembly is detachably secured to the driver assembly. The light fixture is configured to be mounted to a canopy sheet of an overhead canopy, with the driver assembly disposed above the canopy sheet and the light-emitting assembly disposed below the canopy sheet. The driver assembly is optionally configured so that, when the light-emitting assembly is detached from the driver assembly, the driver is removable downwardly through the base portion. A bezel is optionally disposed around a lens of the light-emitting assembly, for aesthetic reasons and/or for controlling a degree of lateral emission of light from the light fixture.

Abstract: Implementations relate to interactions, over a wireless communication modality, between an automated assistant of an automobile computer system, and separate client device(s). In some of those implementations, the client device(s) can be paired with the automobile computer system, and the client device(s) and the automobile computer system can include separate instances of an automated assistant, which can be associated with different user accounts. In some additional or alternative implementations, particular actions to be performed by a local application of a client device can be advanced via user interaction with the automobile automated assistant, despite a counterpart to the local application not being installed directly on automobile computer system.

Abstract: Techniques for obfuscating user selections during user-input of sensitive information, involving displaying several targets, such as keys of a virtual keyboard, on a display device, where each target corresponds to one of multiple options. When a first visual indication of a current user target moves to a first target in response to a first movement of a user pointer to a first position within the first target, the obfuscation system can be configured to concurrently move a second visual indication of a first distractor target to another target. The current user target is thus obfuscated as two different visual indicators and/or pointers move through the targets.
Abstract: A method for preparing a protein-containing sample for analysis by mass spectrometry includes introducing the sample into a reaction vessel. The reaction vessel contains a reagent mixture including pre-measured quantities of an immobilized proteolytic enzyme, a reducing agent and an alkylating agent. The contents of the reaction vessel are activated by heating or by sonication.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an initial input in a first modality from a first user from a client system associated with the first user, determining one or more intents corresponding to the initial input by an intent-understanding module, generating one or more candidate continuation-inputs based on the one or more intents, where the one or more candidate continuation-inputs are in one or more candidate modalities, respectively, and wherein the candidate modalities are different from the first modality, and sending instructions for presenting one or more suggested inputs corresponding to one or more of the candidate continuation-inputs to the client system.

Abstract: A method for cleaning an electrospray emitter of a mass spectrometer, comprises: (a) changing a mode of operation of the electrospray emitter from a stable jet mode of operation to a dripping mode or a pulsating mode of operation by lowering a magnitude of a voltage applied between an counter electrode and the electrospray emitter; (b) causing a cleaning solvent to flow through the electrospray emitter at least until a droplet of the cleaning solvent forms on an exterior surface of the electrospray emitter while operating the electrospray emitter in the dripping mode of operation; and (c) causing the droplet to dislodge from the electrospray emitter exterior.

Abstract: The invention is an improved method of making a carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane in which a polyimide precursor polymer is pyrolyzed to form a carbon molecular sieve membrane by heating, in a furnace, said polyimide precursor polymer to a final pyrolysis temperature of 600 C to 700 C at a pyrolysis heating rate of 3 to 7 C/minute from 400 C to the final pyrolysis temperature, the final pyrolysis temperature being held for a pyrolysis time of at most 60 minutes in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. In a particular embodiment, the cooling rate from the pyrolysis temperature is accelerated by methods to remove heat. The CMS membranes have shown an improved combination of selectivity and permeance as well as being particularly suitable to separate gases in gas streams such methane from natural gas, oxygen from air and ethylene or propylene from light hydrocarbon streams.

Abstract: An electrified vehicle state of charge communication method includes, among other things, communicating a charge state notification when an actual state of charge of a traction battery is depleted such that the actual state of charge falls within a first reserve range. The method further includes adjusting the first reserve range to provide a second reserve range different than the first reserve range, and, after the adjusting, communicating the charge state notification when the actual state of charge is depleted such that the actual state of charge falls within the second reserve range.
Abstract: A carrier for holding a plurality of containers. The carrier has a bottom panel, at least one front panel, at least one back panel, at least two side panels, and at least one central panel dividing the interior of the carrier into a front portion and a back portion. At least one front divider flap is foldably connected to the at least one central panel and at least one back divider flap is foldably connected to the at least one central panel. At least one retention flap is foldably connected to at least one of the at least one front panel, the at least one back panel, the at least two side panels, and the at least one central panel. The at least one retention flap engages a container and provides stability to the respective container in one of the front or back container-receiving spaces.
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing a self-healing UV-protective polymer coating include a polymer matrix formed by initiating polymerization of a UV-absorbing-matrix precursor and a UV initiator and a self-healing portion disposed within the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix includes a plurality of active sites therein. The self-healing portion includes a self-healing precursor that is flowable and a self-healing initiator. The self-healing initiator is configured to polymerize the self-healing precursor using a cationic ring opening process.
