Abstract: A monitor-mine-manage cycle is described, for example, for managing a data center, a manufacturing process, an engineering process or other processes. In various example, the following steps are performed as a continuous automated loop: receiving raw events from an observed system; monitoring the raw events and transforming them into complex events; mining the complex events and reasoning on results; making a set of proposed actions based on the mining; and managing the observed system by applying one or more of the proposed actions to the system. In various examples, the continuous automated loop proceeds while raw events are continuously received from the observed system and monitored. In some examples an application programming interface is described comprising programming statements which allow a user to implement a monitor-mine-manage loop.

Abstract: A method for video calling comprises, at a server computing system, receiving a plurality of segmented participant video streams from a plurality of client computing devices, each segmented participant video stream depicting a different human participant participating in a video call. One or more priority parameters for each of the plurality of human participants are recognized. One or more human participants are ranked based on a cumulative participant priority for each of the plurality of human participants. The plurality of segmented participant video streams are composited into a virtual conference view that displays each of the ranked one or more human participants at a virtual position based on their cumulative participant priority, such that human participants having higher cumulative participant priorities are displayed more prominently than human participants having lower cumulative participant priorities. The virtual conference view is sent to the plurality of client computing devices.
Abstract: A textured release sheet includes a substrate, which has been electron beam treated, including a top side and a bottom side. A matte surface is formed on the bottom side thereof, wherein the matte surface of the surfacing material is a coating of an radiation curable material applied to the bottom side of the substrate. The coating is an UV curable acrylate mixture applied to the substrate, wherein the UV curable acrylate mixture is irradiated with UV-radiation via an excimer laser emitter to produce a UV-irradiated layer wherein the UV curable acrylate mixture is only crosslinked on the surface thereof, which produces a matting surface through the effects of a micro-convolution.

Abstract: An electrical power system architecture and method for allocating power includes a power distribution bus configured to receive power generated by a first engine having a first generator and a second generator, a first set of electrical buses connected with the power distribution bus and associated with the first engine, and a second set of electrical buses configured to selectively connect with the power distribution bus.
Abstract: A two-step SET pulse may be applied to a phase change material of a phase change memory cell in which a first lower SET pulse is applied to make the phase change material dwell at 600K to incubate nuclei near the maximum nucleation rate and then a second higher SET pulse is immediately applied to make the phase change material dwell at 720K to maximize crystal growth. Moreover, the slope of the falling edge of a RESET pulse applied prior to the two-step SET pulse may be adjusted to increase the number of nuclei (e.g., formed with a steeper falling edge) to increase SET efficiency at the expense of a more stable amorphous phase (e.g., formed with a less steep falling edge) that improves data retention.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for determining when to provide and providing secondary disengage alerts for a vehicle having autonomous and manual driving modes. For instance, while the vehicle is being controlled in the autonomous driving mode, receiving user input at one or more using input devices of the vehicle. In response to receiving the user input, the vehicle may be transitioned from the autonomous driving mode to a manual driving mode and provide a primary disengage alert to an occupant of the vehicle regarding the transition. Whether to provide a secondary disengage alert may be determined based on at least circumstances of the user input. After the transition, the secondary disengage alert may be provided based on the determination.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for automatically operating a high voltage resonance circuit. An embodiment of the system includes one or more coils each coil can be an alternating current (AC) coil or a direct current (DC) coil. An embodiment of the system further includes a microprocessor that issues commands to control amplitude and frequency of pulses of the one or more coils to reach and maintain a resonant condition for water treatment. The microprocessor determines whether a coil is an AC coil or a DC coil by detecting whether a capacitor is connected in series with the coil. An embodiment of the system further includes one or more sensors that measure the quality of water and provide feedback to the microprocessor.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate the spoofing of domain name system requests by a customer premise equipment (CPE) device. The CPE device may detect and block a DNS (domain name system) request received from a client device, and the CPE device may generate a DNS response that includes a pre-configured redirect address. The CPE device may block an identified DNS request when the CPE device is unable to retrieve content associated with the DNS request. The CPE device may output the DNS response to the client device from which the DNS request was received, and in response, the client device may output a request on the pre-configured redirect address that is included within the DNS response. The redirect address may direct the client device to an alternate content source.

Abstract: A server kernel processing system receives an input/output (I/O) request from a user mode computing environment. The I/O request is analyzed to determine whether it is a modification request to modify data in a target volume. If so, target analysis logic determines whether the request is for a target volume that is within a first or second protected volume. If the request is to modify data stored in the first protected volume, the request is blocked. If the request is to modify data in a second protected volume, then a whitelist is examined to determine whether the requesting process and user are on the whitelist. If not, the request is also blocked.

Abstract: Certain aspects involve lighting systems relating to control of light fixture output intensity and color temperature. For instance, an input device of the lighting system includes a first selector element communicatively coupled to a driver of a light-emitting diode lighting device across a power cable. The power cable provides a transmission path of power and a control signal between the input device and the driver of the light-emitting diode lighting device. The first selector element is able to control a lumen output of the light-emitting diode lighting device when in a lumen control mode and to control a correlated color temperature output of the light-emitting diode lighting device when in a correlated color temperature control mode. The input device also includes a second selector element that transitions the first selector element between the lumen control mode and the correlated color temperature control mode.
