  • Patent number: 11172864
Abstract: Neural activity in the brain arising from a stimulus is monitored. A stimulus is applied to a target structure of the brain and a neural measurement is obtained from at least one electrode implanted in contact with the target structure. The neural measurement is configured to capture a measure of any late response arising in the target structure, typically being a neural response arising after conclusion of an ECAP, such as in the period 1.5-10 ms after stimulus onset. The late response(s) can be a useful biomarker such as of therapeutic ranges of deep brain stimulation, disease progression, medication efficacy, and intra-operative changes.

  • Patent number: 11161809
Abstract: The disclosure provides processes for preparing 5-fluoro-2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiobenzylidene)-3-indanacetonitrile and for preparing sulindac, relating to the field of medicine. The former comprises mixing 6-fluoro-2-methyl-1-indanone, cyanoacetic acid, a first organic solvent and an acetic acid-based catalyst to proceed with a first condensation reaction to give a first condensation reaction solution, which contains 5-fluoro-2-methyl-3-indanacetonitrile; and mixing the first condensation reaction solution, per se, with a base, a second organic solvent and 4-(methylthio)benzaldehyde to proceed with a second condensation reaction to give 5-fluoro-2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiobenzylidene)-3-indanacetonitrile. The process is a one-pot process without separation of 5-fluoro-2-methyl-3-indanacetonitrile from the solvent, shortening the synthetic route, simplifying the preparation process and improving the 5-fluoro-2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiobenzylidene)-3-indanacetonitrile yield.

  • Patent number: 11160938
Abstract: An inhalant dispensing system is provided, comprising an inhalant delivery apparatus having a main body, a lower body coupled to the main body and comprising a mouthpiece, and an inhalant delivery mechanism disposed within the main body and configured to deliver an aerosolized solution to the mouthpiece for user inhalation; and a lock out system configured to selectively prevent delivery of the aerosolized solution to the mouthpiece. The inhalant delivery apparatus may be assembled by inserting a portion of the inhalant delivery mechanism into the main body. The lower body may be rotatably coupled to the main body and moveable between a dispensing position and a storage position. The system may be used to control and monitor dosages of a solution contained within a smart canister and administered from the canister via an inhaler, to prevent accidental or unwanted usage of the canister and/or over-dosing.

  • Patent number: 11110270
Abstract: Fitting a brain neurostimulator electrode array comprises positioning at least a first electrode in a desired target structure in a first cerebral hemisphere, and positioning at least a second electrode in a corresponding target structure in a contralateral cerebral hemisphere. Electrical stimuli are applied from the first electrode to the desired target structure. Neural responses observed at the second electrode in response to the electrical stimuli are recorded. The fitting of at least one of the first electrode and second electrode is assessed by reference to the recorded neural responses.

  • Patent number: 11100563
Abstract: Systems and methods for gift selection, attribution, and distribution are provided. The systems and methods may detect a gifting signal that is associated with an event corresponding to a recipient. The systems and methods can provide an option to generate a gift for the recipient. If the option is selected, the systems and methods can identify a set of product criteria associated with the event and the recipient. Based on the criteria, the systems and methods can obtain product selection options for the gift and provide these options to a gift sender. In response to a selection from the gift sender, the systems and methods can generate the gift, which includes a redemption option for the selection.

  • Publication number: 20210218615
Abstract: Provided are systems, methods, and computer-program products for a proxy network that can determine, for a set of objects, an initial differential, where the initial differential is determined using a rules data store of a host network. The proxy network can further determine a supplemental differential for the set of objects. The proxy network can further determine a final differential that is the sum of the initial differential and the supplemental differential. The proxy network can further determine a final sum for the set of objects that is the object value less the final differential. The proxy network can further generate an outbound data packet that includes values corresponding to the set of objects and the final sum. When the host network receives the outbound data packet, the host network can modify an object data store using the values corresponding to the set of objects and the final sum.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically generating a graphical interface include determining a counter value associated with a counter object and automatically determining one or more corresponding objects using the counter value. A subset of the one or more corresponding objects is determined and a graphical interface including the subset is generated. An updated counter value associated with the counter object is determined according to a modification and one or more updated corresponding objects are automatically determined using the updated counter value. An updated subset of the one or more updated corresponding objects is determined an updated graphical interface including the updated subset is generated and is transmitted, wherein when the updated graphical interface is received, the updated graphical interface facilitates a selection of an updated corresponding object from the updated subset.

  • Patent number: 11041203
Abstract: The invention generally relates to method for assessing a genomic region of a subject. In certain embodiments, methods of the invention involve obtaining a sample including nucleic acid from a subject. The nucleic acid includes a target sequence from a target genomic region and a paralogous sequence from a non-target genomic region. The target sequence and the paralogous sequence are isolated from the sample. The target sequence and the paralogous sequence are sequenced to obtain sequence reads that include target sequence reads and paralogous sequence reads. The paralogous sequence reads are excluded, and the genomic region of the subject are assessed based on the target sequence reads.
