Abstract: A telecommunications billing record software system which permits the telephone administration which is operating the exchange to interface with and define the criteria for constructing and/or modifying the decision tables used to decide whether or not to generate a billing record for each particular call. In addition, the administration can also define the criteria for specifying the billing record data to be included within the billing records which are generated and the location to which the record is output.
Abstract: A system for monitoring various, diverse energy characteristics of an energy consuming system. The system includes a data gathering device that accumulates data representing each of the sensed energy characteristics in real time, the data representing magnitude of the sensed energy characteristic as well as the time at which the magnitude is sensed. The data that is accumulated for each of the sensed energy characteristics is periodically transmitted to a remote analysis station. The remote analysis station performs a detailed analysis of the sensed energy characteristics and generates reports containing summaries of the sensed data in the form of listings of compressed data as well as graphs such as histograms and graphs correlating different energy characteristics of the energy consuming system.
Abstract: The transplant head of the transplanter has an upper plate with four pinholes spaced at the corners of a square of a determined width. A lower plate is adjustably spaced beneath the upper plate and has four pinholes located at the corners of a square of a lesser width than the upper plate pinhole spacing. Four transplant pins extend between the upper and lower holes such that when the upper plate is brought closer to the lower plate by a pneumatically activated mechanical linkage, the pins converge within a seedling plug. Additional pins and pinholes provide for transplanting of an array of seedlings. A pneumatic actuator is connected to the lower plate and is adapted to elevate the transplant head with engaged plug. A carriage is driven by a pneumatic actuator to position a growth pot beneath the engaged plug. A computer controller causes the plug to be lowered into the soil of the growth pot after which the mechanical linkage may be activated to space the plates to disengage the pins from the plug.

Abstract: A bullet is provided which is substantially 100% pure fluorocarbon resin. In the preferred embodiment a fluorocarbon resin in the form of polytetrafluoroethylene, preferably Teflon from E.I. Dupont De Nemours Co., Inc. of New Jersey, also known as Dupont, is provided with multiple annular grooves near the rear end and a hollow point front end. The bullet in the preferred embodiment is characterized by having a high muzzle velocity, a very short effective range, and pulverizes on impact so as to deliver considerable hydrostatic shocking effect by delivery of all of its energy within the first two to three inches of target depth.
Abstract: A sewing machine is provided with an adjusting device for hem projection length sensors that can be moved relative to a cutting device, wherein the first hem projection length sensor is provided for sending a signal that brings about a cutting process for the front hem projection length, and the second of the sensors is provided for sending a signal that brings about a cutting process for the rear hem projection length. The length of the respective hem projection length and the width of an associated seamless fabric edge shall be able to be set depending on each other with minimum operator effort by the adjusting device both at the beginning and the end of the fabric. The adjusting device has a stop that is movable in the direction of feed for the front edge of the fabric for presetting the width of a seamless front fabric edge.
Abstract: A drum is rotatably mounted next to a tool. Resin-preimpregnated filament tows are independently fed to the drum, through several collimating guides positioned along the drum. The drum operates reciprocally: when it rotates in one direction, segments of the tows are gathered or wound up onto the drum and preheated; upon counterrotation in the outer direction the gathered segments are unwound and forcibly compacted against the tool, or against previously laid filaments. In the gathering part of the operating cycle the drum does not translate with respect to the tool, but rather spins in place at a dwell point. In the depositing part of the cycle, however, the drum effectively rolls along the tool (or filament-pack) surface. Heat from the drum penetrates deeply into the pack of already laid filaments, when present, to facilitate generalized consolidation of the workpiece--enough in many cases to make autoclave postconsolidation unnecessary.

Abstract: A galvanic switch for electrically making or breaking one cross-point among a plurality of cross-points in a three-dimensional switching matrix. The switch includes electrical contact lines, first links which extend perpendicular to the contact lines, and second links which extend perpendicular to both the contact lines and the first links. At each cross-point, there is located a contact element in the form of a spherical element for making and breaking the electric contact respectively. The contact elements either make or break the cross-point depending on whether the coupling element is conductive or non-conductive, and are maneuvered by maneuvering elements.
Abstract: New compositions of matter comprising cyano-substituted metal complexes of porphyrins are catalysts for the oxidation of alkanes. The metal is iron, chromium, manganese, ruthenium, copper or cobalt. The porphyrin ring has cyano groups attached thereto in meso and/or .beta.-pyrrolic positions.
Abstract: A support beam supports a box type beam on which there is located, essentially tangentially to the shell surface of a guide roll coordinated with it, a contact surface for the adhesive tape. Perpendicular to the contact surface, a holding slot for the adhesive tape is provided on the box-shaped beam. The adhesive tape protrudes out of this holding slot with a considerable part, of which the cover foil is removed. A blowing device or blowing channels with blowing orifices bend the part of the adhesive tape protruding out of the slot upward so that, with the support beam approaching the guide roll, this part of the adhesive tape practically is in contact with the contact surface. In this way, adhesive tape can be fastened on the web end wrapping around the guide roll.
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a device for bending over a fabric, especially pockets to be sewn onto a fabric layer, with plates that are arranged in essentially parallel planes and cooperate with one another, a fabric support plate and bending plates, and with a pressing member that can be placed over the fabric, as well as with guide surfaces for the bending area of the fabric. It accomplishes the task of designing the device such that reliable and accurate bending of the fabric is made possible in a relatively simple manner, with only minor effort for adjustment. To achieve this, it has a pressing member (4), whose outer contour extends beyond the outer contour of the fabric support plate (1) in the area of the bending edges of the fabric support plate (1), and which has, at least in its edge zone, an elastically deformable holding member (15) for the fabric (2), which forms a guide surface for the fabric (2) in its bending area after the pressing member (4) has been placed over the fabric (2).
Abstract: A method in a mobile radio station to select one of a number of dedicated control channels (DCCH1-21) which are transmitted from a number of base stations (B1-B21) in a mobile radio system. In the mobile station there is an equalizer to compensate for the multipath propagation characteristics of the radio medium between the mobile station and a certain base station. This equalizer is power consuming and should not be used if not necessary. According to the method an investigation is carried out in the mobile station whether or not the equalizer can be disconnected during the initialization of a call from the mobile to a base station. The signal quality of the dedicated channel (DCCH1) which has the greatest signal strength is measured without the equalizer. If the signal quality is not acceptable, a new detection is made with the use of the equalizer.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transmitting in a time multiplex radio communication system, for instance, a GSM-type mobile telephony system, different commands from a movable station to a fixed station with respect to the selection of transmitter antenna in the fixed station. Each transmission sequence from the movable station includes a synchronizing word which consists of a predetermined number of binary bits. The different commands are transmitted by using different synchronizing words in dependence on the command to be transmitted. The movable station has access to at least two different synchronizing words. The synchronizing words used in addition to a standard synchronizing word are formed by the binary bits from the standard synchronizing word being shifted laterally to mutually different extents and/or in mutually different directions in order to generate different, new synchronizing words.
