    Abstract: A dosing system with a doctor element fashioned as a doctor rod, for the coating of material webs which are passed over at least one roll coordinated with the doctor element. The doctor element is accommodated in a bed supported by a holder of integral design with the bed and held on the wall of a mounting which at the same time is a bounding wall of the mouth channel for the coating mixture. The holder features on its end on its side opposite the mounting wall a clamping or mounting surface. The holder possesses in the end area of the mounting wall bounding on the feed channel a jump in thickness. On its side opposite the said clamping or mounting surface, a protuberance is provided with a bevel which with the bounding wall of the holder contained on the side opposite the clamping or mounting surface forms an angle between 15.degree. and 55.degree., which bounding wall surface is flush with the surface of the mounting wall.

    Abstract: An implantable improved three-pole electrocatheter for permanent cardiac stimulation. The electrocatheter is of the type which comprises a flexible body which extends predominantly axially, is made of biocompatible material and can be surgically inserted through a vein until it reaches the cardiac muscle with a terminal portion. The terminal portion is equipped with a ventricular electrode at its end and has, on its outer surface, a pair of atrial electrodes which are appropriately spaced from one another and with respect to the ventricular electrode. On the side opposite to the terminal portion, the flexible body is provided with connections which are electrically connected to the atrial and ventricular electrodes. The electrocatheter is characterized in that the electric connections comprise a three-pole connector to which the electrodes are connected by means of coiled insulated conductors. The coils defined by the conductors are coaxial.

    Abstract: An inspection apparatus is provided for accurate identification of particulates in parenteral drugs. The inspecting apparatus includes a black inspection panel having an aperture extending therethrough. A light-tight enclosure surrounds the aperture in the panel on the side of the panel opposite the side on which the parenteral drug is inspected. Interior surfaces of the enclosure have black surfaces with finishes to achieve low light reflection. The combination of the aperture and the black enclosure provides enhanced blackness that is not likely to be affected by dust, dirt or surface damages. Hence, greater accuracy and reliability in black background particulate inspection is achieved.

    Abstract: By means of a laser beam, a lacquer layer lying on the surface of a hollow, cylindrical, rotating metal screen is eroded in predetermined pattern regions. The erosion of the lacquer layer within the pattern region takes place with the laser beam continuously energized. The laser beam is deenergized at the end of each respective pattern region within a time interval of 12 .mu.s to 30 .mu.s. Radiation reflected back at the metal screen into the laser beam path is coupled out from the laser beam path, in order not to delay the deenergization of the laser beam. As a result, patterns with particularly sharp edge structures may be generated.

    Abstract: An automated bagging system with a device that performs the dual functions of opening a bag and then supporting the bag as the bag is filled with a product. A supply of air is guided into a wicketed bag by a pivotable plate in a first position. After the plate guides the air into the bag, thus fully opening the bag, the plate moves into a second position. In this second position, the plate clamps a side of the bag opposite the wicket between the plate and a stop plate. The plate and the stop plate, in combination with a clamp on the wicket side of the bag, effectively keep the bag open after the initial supply of air ends to allow the bag to receive a dispensed product. Additionally, the plate, stop plate and clamp support the bag. This support prevents the bag from being torn away from the wicket from the force of the product on the sides and bottom of the bag as the product falls into the bag.
