Publication number: 20040253399Abstract: A cook and chill casing includes a substantially rectangular bag formed from a plastic, tubular material. The bag has a food-receiving interior open at a first end and sealed at a second end. The sealed end has a tapered seal that separates two corners of the tubular material from the interior. The two corners separated by the tapered seal provide handles for lifting the bag. The bag is formed from nylon, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, and/or various combinations of these materials. In one embodiment, the bag is formed from a multilayer, co-extruded plastic film having a thickness in the range of about two mils to about five mils, and the seal is a heat seal. A clip is used to seal the open end of the bag once it has been filled.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2003Publication date: December 16, 2004Applicant: M&Q Plastic Products, Inc.Inventors: John A. Patent number: 6831043Abstract: A water-base fluid for use in drilling wells and other drilling operation includes a shale clay which swells in the presence of water. The fluid preferably includes: an aqueous based continuous phase, and a shale hydration inhibition agent having the formula: wherein R and R′ are independently selectable alkylene groups having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and wherein x and y have independently selected values such that the sum of x and y is at least 1. The shale hydration inhibition agent should be present in sufficient concentration to reduce the swelling of the shale clay. The fluid may be used for formulating drilling fluids such as water-base drilling muds or clear brine drilling fluids. The fluid may also be used in the slurrification and disposal of drill cuttings that contain water swellable clays or shale clays.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2002Date of Patent: December 14, 2004Assignee: M-I LLCInventors: Arvind D. Patent number: 6831465Abstract: An electrical measurement device is described, with a measurement input, an integrated sensor, a measurement and evaluation circuit, and a measured value display, and several measured value outputs. The electrical measurement device enables not only one measured value or several measured values to be determined, but makes it possible to display and process the determined measured values depending on other values such as comparison values and setpoints. An influencing input acts on the measurement and evaluation circuit and is the connecting point for the electrical measurement device to which or via which an influencing value can be applied or input. Therefore, a value with which the measured value can be influenced in the broadest sense is applied.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2002Date of Patent: December 14, 2004Assignee: i f m electronic GmbHInventors: Benno Kathan, Alfred Wagner

Patent number: 6832116Abstract: A method and system for controlling an electronic utility device is implemented using an electronic reading device. A sensor in the electronic reading device detects portions of an address pattern on a surface that is formatted for use in controlling the electronic utility device. Based on the detected portions, a processor and/or wireless application protocol (WAP) browser, located in the electronic reading device or in a separate electronic device, can identify a position or positions of the electronic reading device relative to the address pattern and translate the identified position(s) into a control message. The control message is transmitted to a WAP server module associated with the electronic utility device, and the WAP server module accesses, controls, or operates the electronic utility device in accordance with the control message.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2000Date of Patent: December 14, 2004Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Magnus Tillgren, Magnus Hollström, Patrik Olsson

Publication number: 20040245187Abstract: When elemental iron is in the presence of chlorinated compounds (contaminants) a naturally occurring reaction takes place and the chlorinated compounds are reduced and form harmless compounds. The production of extremely small metal particles containing elemental iron or a mixture of elemental iron and a second metal is imperative to this method of treating contaminants and is the subject of the present invention. When the particle is small enough a surfactant is not required for the particle to do its job. The elemental metal may be kept in an elemental state by keeping it in an oxygen-scavenging environment. This is achieved by either suspending the nanoscale metal in a carbohydrate solution or by injecting a carbohydrate solution in atomized form into the gas used to inject the metal into the subsurface soil. Additionally, the present invention is to a method of using elemental metal to reductively dehalogenate halogenated hydrocarbons, to reduce soluble metals and to treat metalloids in subsurface soil.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2004Publication date: December 9, 2004Applicant: Arcadis G&M, Inc.Inventors: David Vance, Suthan S. Publication number: 20040249952Abstract: A proxy is utilized to limit the RF bandwidth needed for foreign IP registration. An existing RF log-in procedure causes the proxy to initiate and complete the foreign IP registration procedure with the foreign agent at the RF site where the mobile node is located. The proxy then acts as a locally connected (i.e., direct ethernet connected) device for each IP address for which it is proxying, and thus there is no need to use RF to register a mobile with the active foreign agent. This allows the use of off-the-shelf home and foreign agents to complete the mobile IP architecture, and reduces the RF bandwidth used, since the RF portion of the registration process (the registration between the active foreign agent and the mobile) is reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2003Publication date: December 9, 2004Applicant: M/A-COM Private Radio Systems, Inc.Inventor: William John Roderique

Publication number: 20040250177Abstract: A method of sending data from a memory to a host, and a data storage device that uses the method. The controller of the data storage device sends the data directly from the memory to a buffer in an interface to the host while simultaneously checking the data for errors. If sufficiently few errors are found, the data are sent from the buffer to the host. Otherwise, the data are corrected, the data in the buffer are replaced with the corrected data, and the corrected data are written to the memory. If the data are stored by segments, the simultaneous sending and checking is effected segmentwise. When a bad segment is found, an error flag is set. When all the data have been sent and checked, or when the buffer is full, if the error flag has not been set, the data in the buffer are sent to the host.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2004Publication date: December 9, 2004Applicant: M-SYSTEMS FLASH DISK PIONEERS LTD.Inventors: Eyal Bychkov, Sasha Paley, Avraham Meir

Patent number: 6829721Abstract: A system and method for simplifying the testing and manufacturing process of multi-board solid-state storage systems. The system is constructed by placing secondary non-volatile memory components onto every board in multi-board system that carries primary solid-state components. This allows separate or independent testing of the boards, and final construction of the solid-state system by simply connecting these boards, without the need to either test the completely constructed system or to transfer geometry, faulty location and auxiliary records if the boards have been tested independently. The best mode of the invention is a solid-state storage system, wherein system data is stored on multiple boards, so that each board is a separate entity and can be attached, removed or replaced without additional steps for transferring the system information.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2001Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd.Inventor: Eugene Zilberman

Patent number: 6828658Abstract: An integrated circuit package houses and connects to a die to form an integrated circuit with internal matching. The package comprises a lead frame comprising at least one transmission line, a die paddle, and at least one input lead and at least one output lead. Bond wires connect select locations along the at least one transmission line to ground through impedance matching circuit components located within the integrated circuit to provide an impedance matching network associated with at least one of the output leads. A plastic mold compound substantially encases the lead frame, while exposing the die paddle and the input/output leads. Incorporating the transmission line into the lead-frame avoids having to place the matching network outside of the integrated circuit package. That is, etching the lead frame to provide the transmission line, and placing components (e.g., capacitors, inductors, etc.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2002Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: M/A-Com, Inc.Inventors: Norbert A.
