  • Patent number: 6338412
Abstract: Cylindrical screen, particularly for paper pulp, of the type comprising at least one filtering element (10) positioned between two flanges (1, 2) by means of a number of bars (3). The filtering element is composed by wires (10) placed side by side and held by rings (11). This filtering element is rigid in the axial direction and is placed upstream from the above mentioned bars (3), in relation to the direction of flow of the pulp. The filtering element is held against the bars (3) through the rings (11) that are in contact with the bars without being attached to them, so as to maintain its shape by withstanding the pressure exerted by the pulp.

  • Patent number: 6336459
Abstract: A mask is formed of an upper part, a lower part opposing the upper part and having a form generally similar to that of the upper part, and a connection part for connecting a lower edge of the upper part and an upper edge of the lower part. The left edges of the upper and lower parts are joined, and the right edges of the upper and lower parts are joined, while the upper edge of the upper part and the lower edge of the lower part are not joined. The connection part has a folding portion located between the upper part and the lower part, and is bent relative to the lower edge of the upper part and the upper edge of the lower part, so that the connection part does not protrude outwardly over the lower edge of the upper part and the upper edge of the lower part. Breathing can be made easily in the mask.

  • Patent number: 6336317
Abstract: An engine is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the engine comprises a compressor, and combustor, and an expander. The compressor compresses ambient air. The combustor burns the compressed air, and produces exhaust gasses. The expander receives the exhaust gases from the combustor, and expands the exhaust gasses. The compressor may be a gerotor compressor or a piston compressor having variable-dead-volume control. The expander may be a gerotor expander or a piston expander having variable-dead-volume control. In another embodiment, an engine comprises a piston compressor, a combustor, a piston expander, and a pressure tank. The piston compressor compresses ambient air. The combustor burns the compressed air, and produces exhaust gasses. The piston expander receives the exhaust gasses from the combustor, and expands the exhaust gasses. The pressure tank receives and stores the compressed air from the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20020001638
Abstract: A unit designed to vibrate concrete products includes elements designed to impart asymmetrical vibrations to a mould, the motion in one direction being much faster than the motion in the opposite direction. The unit includes a pair of motors which drive two cams on each of which rests an idle roller, connected via a linkage to a table on which the mould is positioned. The rotation of the cams causes the table to vibrate, causing it to move upwards with strong acceleration and then descend with a slower and more regular motion. This system produces a type of vibration which allows concrete to be compacted rapidly without becoming detached from or partly exiting from the mould.

  • Publication number: 20010053585
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cleaning process for a substrate surface on which a high-density film and a low-density film lower in density than the high-density film are carried in combination. According to the cleaning process, a mixed gas of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride gas and a heated inert gas is brought into contact with the substrate surface such that at least a portion of the low-density film is removed without impairing the high-density film beyond a tolerance. The substrate is, for example, a semiconductor substrate.

  • Publication number: 20010051593
Abstract: Invert emulsion compositions including an oleaginous, a non-oleaginous and an amine surfactant that are useful in the oil and gas well drilling art are disclosed. The amine surfactant is selected so that the invert emulsion can be converted form a water-in-oil type emulsion to a oil-in-water type emulsion upon the protonation of the amine surfactant. Deprotonation of the amine surfactant reverses the conversion.

  • Publication number: 20010049897
Abstract: Collectible, rectangular ticket-type display device having a window in which is mounted a transparency type film frame or multi-frame clip for see-through type viewing. The display device preferably includes security and/or authentication indicia, and is fabricated from archival-quality materials. The ticket is formed from a single folded sheet of heavy paper or plastic material and scored along one edge for a fold to define a front and back panel. The film frame or clip is secured in an envelope or packet of non-bleed, non-yellowing transparent polyester plastic which is mounted to one inner face of the ticket panels. Preferably the ticket window is of sufficient size to exhibit the sprocket holes of the film frame or clip for authenticity. The transparency images may be of a motion picture or performance event such as a concert, sporting or historical event, and may be reproduced from a film positive or negative, or from video tape.

  • Patent number: 6327567
Abstract: A method for spatializing audio in conference calls is described in which the participants in the calls are placed in particular locations in order to provide an additional dimension (direction) so that the participants can better recognize who is speaking. Also, the dimension of volume is provided, which can be used in creating background sub-conferences. Consequently, sub-conferences can be conducted in which the participants can move seamlessly between them and also listen to other sub-conferences being conducted in the background.

  • Patent number: 6327461
Abstract: A retractable antenna for a wireless communicator includes an elongate radiator that slides through a helical radiator. An electrical contact alternately contacts one of the elongate radiator and the helical radiator depending on a position of the elongate radiator relative to the helical radiator. Mechanical disengagement is accomplished by the movement of the elongate radiator into a contact position with the electrical contact to disengage the helical conductor. A preferred feature of the antenna is that one of the helical radiator and elongate radiator make electrical contact with the wireless communicator circuits, even when the antenna is placed between a fully retracted and fully extended position. Multiple band operation is another feature of the retractable antenna due to its periodic nature. Ease of assembly is achieved preferred through individual snap fit components.
