Abstract: A self-contained, hand-held spray dispensing device includes an internal source of pressurized fluid that exerts a motive force on a pair of liquid ejecting elements to cause each to eject a liquid into a discharge line. The liquids remain separated until each exits its discharge port. A pressurized fluid is directed over the outlet ends of the discharge line beginning before a flow interrupter in the discharge line is opened to permit flow therethrough and ceasing after liquid flow is terminated. The pressurized fluid flow over the outlet of the discharge line aerosolizes liquids emanating from the outlet ends. The liquid ejecting element is connected to a force transmitting yoke. The yoke responds to pressurized fluid from the source to generate the motive force on the ejecting element.

Abstract: Adhesives formed by reacting an oxidized polysaccharide with a poly(hydroxylic) compound derivatized with acetoacetate groups in the presence of a base catalyst are disclosed. The use of the adhesives for medical and veterinary applications such as topical wound closure; and surgical procedures, such as intestinal anastomosis, vascular anastomosis, tissue repair, and ophthalmic procedures; and drug delivery are described. The adhesive may also be used for industrial and consumer applications.
Abstract: Methods for sealing an orifice in tissue in the body of a living animal using an adhesive formed by reacting an oxidized polysaccharide with a poly(hydroxylic) compound derivatized with acetoacetate groups in the presence of a base catalyst are disclosed. Methods for using the adhesive for medical and veterinary applications such as topical wound closure; and surgical procedures, such as intestinal anastomosis, vascular anastomosis, tissue repair, and ophthalmic procedures; and drug delivery are described.
Abstract: Novel polyglycerol aldehyde polymers are described. The polymers comprise glycerol monomers connected by ether linkages and have 3 to about 170 aldehyde groups per molecule. The polyglycerol aldehydes may be reacted with various amine-containing polymers to form hydrogel tissue adhesives and sealants that may be useful for medical applications such as wound closure, supplementing or replacing sutures or staples in internal surgical procedures such as intestinal anastomosis and vascular anastomosis, tissue repair, preventing leakage of fluids such as blood, bile, gastrointestinal fluid and cerebrospinal fluid, ophthalmic procedures, drug delivery, and preventing post-surgical adhesions.
Abstract: Acid generator compounds are provided that are particularly useful as a photoresist composition component. In one preferred aspect, cyclic sulfonium salt and photoresist compositions that comprise such compounds are provided. In another preferred aspect, acid generator compounds are provided that comprise one or more covalently linked acid-labile moieties, particularly ester-containing acid-labile moieties.
Abstract: A method for depositing gallium using a gallium ink, comprising, as initial components: a gallium component comprising gallium; a stabilizing component; an additive; and, a liquid carrier; is provided comprising applying the gallium ink on the substrate; heating the applied gallium ink to eliminate the additive and the liquid carrier, depositing gallium on the substrate; and, optionally, annealing the deposited gallium.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of manufacture of metal or alloy powders that uses liquid phase reduction of a metal halide, or a mixture of metal halides, to produce a metal particle coated in salts produced as a reaction byproduct. The reaction conditions can be chosen to select a range of metal particle sizes, and the salt coating prevents oxidation (or reaction with other atmospheric gases) and permits a range of applications hitherto difficult to achieve using metal powders.
Abstract: A method of manufacture is described that uses liquid phase reduction of silicon hydride, to produce silicon metal. Working in liquid phase permits a more compact plant design and offers significantly lower capital costs.
Abstract: Disclosed is a process to reduce mixtures of at least one metal halide by molten metal reduction of the liquid phase metal halide in an alkali or alkaline earth metal to form a reaction product comprising at least one metal mixture and a halide salt coating, in which the at least one metal halide is in stoichiometric excess to the molten metal reductant and wherein the reductant is consumed in the reaction and does not need to be removed at the end of the reaction.

Abstract: The methods involve selectively depositing a resist containing a solid hydrogenated rosin resin and a liquid hydrogenated rosin resin ester as a mixture on a semiconductor followed by etching uncoated portions of the semiconductor and simultaneously inhibiting undercutting of the resist. The etched portions may then be metallized to form current tracks.
