Abstract: A method, a computing device and a computer program product are provided for associating a diagnosis code, such as an ICD-10 code, with an encounter. In the context of a method, an indication is received that a diagnosis code from a prior encounter is also to be utilized in conjunction with a subsequent encounter. The method further includes determining whether the diagnosis code from the prior encounter is associated with an initial encounter for a respective condition. In an instance in which the diagnosis code from the prior encounter is associated with an initial encounter for the respective condition, the method also determines whether the diagnosis code should be modified to be associated with the subsequent encounter. As such, the method, computing device and computer program product can facilitate the creation of a medical record with accurate diagnosis codes.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are therefore provided in order to provide for display of waveforms. An example method may include displaying a first waveform, receiving an input selecting a portion of the first waveform, and generating, using a processor, an interface control displaying the selected portion of the first waveform. The interface control may include a semi-transparent display area and the selected portion of the first waveform may be displayed on the semi-transparent display area. The method may also include displaying the interface control concurrently with a second waveform such that at least a portion of the second waveform is visible through the semi-transparent display area of the interface control.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for generating a region(s) of interest for a medical image(s). The apparatus includes at least one memory and at least one processor configured to receive an indication of one or more touches at corresponding locations on a touch enabled display. The respective touches define a touch point at the corresponding location. The processor is further configured to generate one or more regions of interest associated with areas of a medical image(s) responsive to receipt of the indications. A location of respective regions of interest corresponds to locations of touch points. The processor is further configured to define a diameter of regions of interest based on a width/pressure of the touch points and define the regions of interest to include a disc including a contour(s). The regions of interest correspond to an area for annotating the medical image(s). Corresponding computer program products and methods are also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining and communicating patient incentive information to a prescriber. The patient incentive information may adjust the patient copay amount for a prescribed medication. The patient incentive information may be determined by evaluating pharmacy identification information and medication identifiers in a received prescription benefit check transaction and/or adjudicated response to a healthcare transaction to determine if an incentive is available to be applied to the current transaction. The incentive amount may be retrieved and the patient copay amount in the adjudicated response may be amended prior to transmitting the adjudicated response to the prescriber of the medication.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for processing workload requests in a distributed computing system. In general, a cooperative workload serialization system is provided that includes a Message Queue that is configured to receive and hold workload requests from a number of requestors and a Request Manager that is in communication with the Message Queue and is configured to direct the processing of the workload requests. The system may include a Culler in communication with the Request Manager, where the Culler is configured to monitor the validity of the workload requests. The Request Manager, in turn, may be configured to remove an indicated workload request from the Message Queue based on information from the Culler that the indicated workload request is not valid.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining and communicating a benefit response message corresponding to a benefit contract status. The benefit contract status may be based upon a benefit group identifier included in a healthcare transaction. The healthcare transaction may be received by the service provider computer from a healthcare provider computer. The healthcare transaction may include prescription transaction information. The service provider may utilize the prescription transaction information to determine a benefit group identifier. The service provider may determine a contract status of the benefit group associated with the benefit response message. The service provider may transmit a provider or a limited provider message to the healthcare provider computer based upon the determination of the contract status of the benefit group.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided in order to integrate clinical data with the medical images reviewed by radiologists or other healthcare providers. In the context of a method, one or more findings related to a respective risk profile of a patient are identified. The method also includes concurrently presenting both one or more medical images of the patient and a visual representation of at least a portion of the patient's body with respect to visual indications of the one or more findings. The method also includes providing information regarding a respective finding upon selection of the visual indication associated with the respective finding. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract: A method, computing device and computer program product are provided to maintain a comprehensive record of log entries, even in an instance in which the recordation of log entries to the primary log temporarily fails. In the context of a method, one or more log entries are written to a primary log. The method also includes determining that writing a log entry to the primary log has failed and writing the log entry to a fallback log in an instance in which writing the log entry to the primary log has failed. The method further includes performing a restoration process. The restoration process includes determining whether the log entry written to the fallback log is able to be written to the primary log. If so, the restoration process writes one or more log entries written to the fallback log to the primary log. If not, the restoration process is repeated.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining and communicating notification messages which may be available for a patient, as part of the processing of a healthcare transaction. A healthcare claim transaction, such as a prescription claim request, may be received by the service provider computer from a pharmacy management system. The service provider computer may determine if an a notification message is available for the patient and if a patient response to an available notification message has been transmitted to the service provider prior to the service provider computer receiving the healthcare claim transaction. The service provider computer may receive an approved adjudicated response and generate a notification corresponding to the available notification message for the patient. The service provider computer may receive a patient response to the message and may capture the patient response for use as a part of the processing of other healthcare transactions.

In the context of a method, a plurality of test messages from each of a plurality of different source systems are stored. The plurality of test messages may include test messages to be captured in an electronic health record. The method constructs a test plan. The test plan identifies an end point. The test plan also includes one or more test messages that have been previously stored and respective anticipated outcomes at the end point following transmission of the test messages. The method also includes transmitting the test messages of the test plan and receiving feedback regarding the outcome following transmission of the test messages of the test plan to the end point. In the context of a method, a plurality of prescriptions are received in an electronic or facsimile format. In this regard, the method includes receiving a first prescription and thereafter receiving a second prescription. The method also includes determining if the first and second prescriptions are associated with the same patient and also determining if the first and second prescriptions are received within a predefined window of time. In an instance in which the first and second prescriptions are associated with the same patient and are received within the predefined window of time, the method includes grouping, with processing circuitry, the first and second prescription into a single order.

The first virtualization manager is configured to virtualize at least storage components and an execution environment for at least some of the applications. The pair device includes second processing circuitry, a second virtualization manager and a second synchronizer. The second processing circuitry provides redundancy for the first processing circuitry. The second virtualization manager is configured to provide redundancy with respect to the virtualized storage components and execution environment.

A user may view specified rooms from various areas in a consolidated view, as opposed to accessing a geospatial arrangement for each individual area of interest.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for identifying a region of interest within a mammogram image. A method may include applying a clustering algorithm to a histogram of the mammogram image to identify a predefined number of threshold values. The method may further include determining a predefined number of seed values based at least in part on the identified threshold values. The method may additionally include generating a kernel image for each of the seed values. The method may also include using the generated kernel images to identify a region of interest including a breast within the mammogram image. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also provided.

In regards to a method, data is received from any one of a plurality of source systems, each of which has a respective first data stream type. The method determines a recipient system from among a plurality of candidate recipient systems and determines a second data stream type accepted by the recipient system. The method directs the data to a first processing module of a plurality of processing modules based upon the source system, the recipient system and the first and second data stream types. The method processes the data with the first processing module based upon a recipient system and its second data stream type.

Abstract: A connector apparatus and the associated method are provided for bridging data between entities, such as between data source(s) and data target(s). In a method, first and second data bridge connections are established between a connector apparatus and a data source and between a connector apparatus and a data target, respectively. Each data bridge connection includes a data pipe having one or more data flows with each data flow dedicated to a particular data type. The method includes sending a polling request from the connector apparatus to the data source via the first data bridge connection and receiving data from the data source over the first data pipe in response to the polling request. The method includes sending the received data to the data target over the second data pipe when the data target has subscribed to the data received from the data source over the first data pipe.
