Abstract: A method for providing a data translation may include receiving an input string comprising a free text response indicative of a physiologic condition, and applying a selected transform to the input string to transform the input string into a translated value indicative of a value associated with the physiologic condition for storage in a fact repository. The selected transform may be selected from a library of potential transforms based on results of the selected transform relative to a rational range associated with the physiologic condition. A corresponding computer program product and apparatus are also provided.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are hereby provided to detect anatomical elements in a medical image. In this regard, the method, apparatus, and computer program product may receive a test image and generate a classified image by applying an image classifier to the test image. The image classifier may include at least one decision tree for evaluating at least one pixel value of the test image and the classified image may include a plurality of pixel values. Each pixel value may be associated with a probability that an anatomical element is located at the pixel location. The method, apparatus, and computer program product may also evaluate the classified image using an anatomical model to detect at least one anatomical element within the classified image.

Abstract: Methods and a support object are provided to facilitate the receipt of a wide variety of touch inputs from a user, such as in a manner that is comfortable and does not fatigue the user. In the context of a method, touch input is received from a user who engages and moves a support object relative to a touch sensitive surface. The method also includes receiving the touch input from the user via the touch sensitive surface. The method further includes determining a relative position of the touch input with respect to the support object and then determining a type of touch input based upon the relative position of the touch input with respect to the support object. The method also includes causing an action to be taken in response to the type of touch input. Corresponding apparatus and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for generating a pool of remote session references that may be utilized to establish authenticated sessions. The apparatus includes a processor configured to generate remote session references that may be maintained in a pool. The remote session references may include information used to establish authenticated sessions with a secure device. The processor is also configured to determine whether a remote session reference(s) of the pool may be borrowed in response to receipt of a request for a resource(s) on the secure device. Additionally, the processor may perform a test on a borrowed remote session reference when a determination reveals that one of the remote session references may be borrowed. The processor may also provide the secure device with the borrowed remote session reference and a request for the resource(s) in response to determining that the test passed. Corresponding computer program products and methods are also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for evaluating adherence to a project control process are provided. A project to be audited may be identified by a computing system comprising one or more computers. The project may be a data delivery project implemented to deliver confidential healthcare information. The results of an audit performed on the identified project may be determined by the computing system. The audit may evaluate adherence of the project to a project control process. Based at least in part upon the results of the audit, the computing system may calculate a process adoption score for the identified project.

Abstract: A method, computing device and computer program product are disclosed to provide medication information in conjunction with an electronic health record of a patient. In the context of a method a user is permitted to access the electronic health record of the patient and a medication catalog is displayed within the electronic health record of the patient. The medication catalog includes a current medication listing of one or more current medications for the patient, a historical medication listing of one or more historical medications for the patient and a favorites listing of one or more favorite medications of the user. The method also includes receiving user input via a selection of a respective medication included in the current medication list, the historical medication listing or the favorites listing in order to alter a prescription of the patient.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for facilitating account payment posting transactions. A computer-implemented method may include receiving, from a computer associated with a healthcare provider, a healthcare payment transaction for a patient, wherein the healthcare payment transaction comprises an identifier for a guarantor of the patient and a total payment amount. The method may also include determining, based at least in part on the guarantor identifier, one or more open medical accounts for the guarantor, the one or more open medical accounts having respective outstanding balances. Furthermore, the method may include comparing the total payment amount with the respective outstanding balances and generating, based at least in part on the comparison, an account payment posting transaction. The account payment posting transaction may indicate respective amounts, of the total payment amount, to be allocated to the one or more open medical accounts.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are disclosed to provide an interface between an imaging system for presenting medical images acquired by various modalities and a reporting system for generating and presenting reports, such as reports relating to the medical images. In the context of a method, the method may include participating in a transfer of information relating to a context of one or more images presented by the imaging system so as to cause a reporting template to be restructured based upon the context of one or more images presented by the imaging system. The method also includes causing an action to be taken in one of the imaging system or the reporting system based upon data provided by another of the imaging system or the reporting system.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a graphic overlay or display for a touch-sensitive surface with which an object comes into contact. The touch-sensitive surface is divided into a plurality of regions each of a number of which is associated with a distinct set of one or more of the plurality of gestures, where the plurality of gestures are associated with a respective plurality of functions of a software application operable by a processor. According to this aspect, the graphic overlay or display visibly depicts the regions and a layout of the regions into which the touch-sensitive surface is divided. The method may further include plotting a plurality of data points from the first set of data points on a first graph. The method may additionally include causing the first graph to be displayed. The method may also include accessing a second set of data points. The method may further include plotting a plurality of data points from the second set of data points on a second graph. The method may also include causing the second graph to be displayed overlaying the first graph. At least a portion of the second graph may be semi-transparent such that at least a portion of the first graph is viewable concurrently with the second graph. Abstract: A method for managing content is provided. The method may include, by a content management apparatus, receiving a content request, searching for content information associated with the request, and causing writing of missing content information to an alert file. The method may provide default content information when content information is not otherwise located. A content request may comprise an application and context name. A response from a content management apparatus may comprise a location and map identifier used by a calling apparatus to locate and cause display of content. The method may provide synchronization capabilities in which content referenced by an application is searched for in order to track missing content in an alerts file, and to track the synchronization history or status of an application in a synchronization log. Abstract: An apparatus is provided for adaptively adjusting the rendering quality of one or more images. The apparatus may include at least one memory and at least one processor configured to adjust a rendering quality associated with display of one or more images to degrade the images based in part on a determined distance corresponding to a predetermined threshold. The processor is further configured to cause the apparatus to enable rendering and display of the degraded images in response to receipt of the degraded images from a device or retrieval of the degraded images from a locally stored memory. The degraded images include images having a size that is smaller than a size of corresponding original images. Corresponding computer program products and methods are also provided.

The apparatus is caused to receive a digital image including pixels each of which has a pixel value that has been calibrated according to a first calibration function for calibrating an image for display by a first monitor. The apparatus is caused to transform the pixel value of each of at least some of the pixels to a corresponding transformed pixel value calibrated according to a second calibration function for calibrating an image for display by a second monitor. The apparatus is also caused to cause output of the digital image including the plurality of pixels each of at least some of which has a transformed pixel value, the respective digital image being displayable by the second monitor.

In some example embodiments, a method is provided that comprises receiving a deactivation notification for an application being displayed in a foreground of a device visible view. The method of this embodiment may also include determining that at least a portion of the current view of the application comprises sensitive information. The method of this embodiment may also include adding a screensaver view to an application view stack top, wherein the screensaver view is operable to at least partially obscure the sensitive information in at least a portion of the current view.

In this regard, the method, apparatus, and computer program product may record events that occur in one or more applications, where the events are due to user input. These events may be associated with time values and data describing application contexts, such that the events may be used to generate an input log that also records application semantics and statuses. A variety of operations may be performed using this input log, including recreation of an application state by playing back the log, the ability to suspend or resume a user session, the ability to perform undo or pause operations, the ability to analyze user inputs to train or audit users, testing of users, troubleshooting of errors, and enabling multi-user collaboration.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a processor and a memory storing executable instructions that in response to execution by the processor cause the apparatus to perform a number of functions, including identification of a target number that indicates a number of reported image studies for peer review. The apparatus is caused to identify users having user characteristics that match properties of the reported image studies. The user characteristics include a specialty (modality specialty and body-region specialty) that matches the reported image studies, or an associated medical facility that matches an associated medical facility of the reported image studies. The apparatus is caused to assign the target number of reported image studies to the identified users. The apparatus may be further caused to identify users that have previously performed a user-initiated peer review of a reported image study, and reduce their assigned image studies accordingly.

The apparatus is caused to direct presentation of a list for a plurality of patients and that is clustered by patient. The apparatus is caused to apply a keyword filter to identify a subset of the patient exams that match the keyword filter, and rank the respective exams by relevance to the keyword filter. The apparatus is caused to direct presentation of a filtered list of patient exams that is clustered by patient in the filtered list of patient exams. And for each patient having patient exams in the subset of the patient exams, the respective patient exams are in ranked order in the filtered list of patient exams according to the keyword filter.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are therefore provided to determine a mapping between healthcare messaging protocols. This mapping may be generated by receiving a message containing a known set of data in an unknown format. The message may be analyzed to identify one or more data fields corresponding to the known data, and the data fields may be mapped to a known structure based on identification of the known data within the message. The process may be repeated until a mapping is generated for each field of the message. In some embodiments, the process may dynamically determine sets of known data to assist with identification of mapping between particular fields of the unknown format with fields of a known message format.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are described herein for providing clinically adaptive prefetch of datasets relating to prior medical studies. Upon indication of a new study, a fit function may depend on an exemplar set of new study to prior study relationships. The fit function may calculate an affinity value for a prior study, indicating the probability of relevancy to the new study. The fit function may consider structured data, and unstructured data, such as by natural language processing. Based on the affinity value, a dataset relating to the prior study may be flagged for prefetch, indicating a dataset should be prefetched from a lower tier memory to a higher tier memory, allowing for faster access to the dataset, from a clinical system. The fit function may be trained based on usage of the prior study datasets, including accounting for false positives and false negatives.
