Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a diaper, a sanitary towel or bandage, having an absorbent core, a liquid-permeable topsheet intended to be in contact with the wearer when the article is worn, and a liquid-impermeable layer arranged on the opposite side of the absorbent core. The liquid-permeable topsheet comprises a perforated but otherwise liquid-impermeable layer, the perforations comprising straight ducts which are of uniform width along the whole of their lengths. The ends of these ducts freely project away from the topsheet and extend into the absorbent core. Fibers extend into the ducts in a manner such that the fiber density in the ducts decreases in a direction away from the free ends of the ducts, so that the fibers form capillaries which taper toward the interior of the absorbent article.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an incontinence shield for men, intended to embrace the penis. The invention is characterized in that the shield has a front-piece and a back-piece and a center-piece which is narrower in relation thereto;that the shield is arranged to embrace both the penis and the scrotum of the wearer;that to this end the back-piece has therein a recess extending from the end edge thereof;and in that wing-like portions formed on the back-piece by the recess on both sides thereof are arranged to be firmly clamped beneath the scrotum of the wearer, to hold the shield firmly in position.
Abstract: The invention refers to a compress for treatment of discharging wounds. The compress is soaked in a solution containing sodium chloride and is then dried. The dry compress is applied to the wound and is fixed with a bandage. The secretion of the wound is absorbed by the compress, thereby cleaning the wound and preventing crust formation. An antibacterial effect is also obtained. Sodium chloride and the zinc ion effect the wound bottom directly and stimulate the healing of the wound.
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement in surgical sheets of the kind which are provided with a hole which is intended to be placed over the area of a patient where an operation is to be performed. The arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that a disk having arranged therein an elongated opening is intended to cover the hole in the sheet and can be adjusted to different positions of rotation with the longitudinal axis of the opening extending in the direction of an intended surgical incision.
Abstract: Elastic pants or briefs for holding a disposable diaper in place, provided in both the front and back piece with elastic threads which define a central portion tapering towards the crotch of the pants, and/or with a central area extending up from the crotch portion, which is more loosely crocheted or knitted than the rest of the pants, thereby achieving effective tightening of the underlying disposable diaper against the body of the user.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a surgical sheet.A surgical sheet designed in accordance with the invention is formed in a single piece and has a plurality of folds extending across the sheet, substantially in the center thereof. These transverse folds are gathered and joined together at a central region thereof and are intended to be placed adjacent an anesthesis arch. The folds outside the central region are designed to fall in a fan-like fashion on both sides of an operating table, to form vertical screening walls.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a paper web from a fiber suspension are disclosed. These include injecting a fiber suspension stream through a slice opening onto the upper surface of a travelling paper web-forming surface, maintaining that surface free of support for a predetermined distance downstream of the slice opening, maintaining a flexible lip near the upper surface of the web-forming surface for a portion of that predetermined distance, and applying a vacuum to the lower surface of the web-forming surface throughout the predetermined distance. In this manner, both the method and apparatus can produce a paper web and substantially dewater the fiber suspension within the space between the flexible lip and the web-forming suspension and substantially reduce disturbances during formation of the web and throughout the predetermined distance.
Abstract: A package for menstrual protectors such as sanitary napkins and pads or panty protectors has one side coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive for securing the napkin to the underwear of the user. A plurality of napkins have their adhering side releasably fixed to a plastic film or the like. When the film with the attached napkins is folded, the napkins are placed on top of each other forming one or more piles enclosed by the film. The overlapping edges of the film extending laterally beyond the protectors are then sealed together.

Abstract: The invention relates to a holder for paper rolls with central dispensing of the paper from the interior of the roll. There is a pull-out opening for the paper web in one end wall of the holder, where it is surrounded by a projecting, substantially tubular, tearing device with tearing teeth for tearing off the paper web. According to the invention, the holder is firstly made so that it can be mounted in any position, and secondly its tearing device is provided with protective projections, which extend beyond the tearing teeth.
