Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin or incontinence guard, comprises a liquid-impermeable surface layer which is remote from the wearer when the article is worn, a liquid-permeable surface layer which faces towards the wearer in use, and an absorbent pad which is contained between the two surface layers. The absorbent pad is arched in a transverse direction, at least at its center part, and therewith exhibits a convex surface on the side of the pad which faces the wearer in use. The edges of the article are restrained from flexing toward the liquid-permeable surface, and the transverse arch is maintained by a restraining device attached to the longitudinal edges of the article.

Abstract: The invention relates to an absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin or an incontinence guard intended to be worn in the crotch part of a pair of underpants (9), and comprising an elongated absorbent pad (3) which is enclosed in a casing (1, 2) and which has attached to both long side edges (6, 7) flexible flaps (4, 5) which are intended to be folded around the leg edges (10, 11) of the underpants (9) in use, so as to prevent soiling of the underpants. An inventive article is mainly characterized in that each flap (4, 5) has an edge part which coincides generally with a corresponding edge part on the article casing (1, 2), and in that the flaps (4, 5) and the casing (1, 2) are mutually joined within the mutually coincidental edge parts (12, 13), with the flaps (4, 5) extending inwardly over the absorbent pad (3).

Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorption body intended for an absorbent product, such as a sanitary towel or an incontinence guard, and comprising an absorbent material, preferably cellulose fluff, which increases in quantity continuously from the edge margins of the article in towards the center part thereof. According to the invention, the absorption body is compressed to an essentially flat shape and exhibits a degree of compression which increases continuously from the edge margins towards the center part of the body. The invention also relates to a method of producing an essentially flat absorption body, the density of which increases continuously from the edge margins in towards the center part thereof.

Abstract: The invention relates to an absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, a panty guard or an incontinence guard, comprising an absorbent pad enclosed in a casing (1, 2). The invention is characterized in that the absorbent body (3) comprises a first absorbent layer (5) which includes a mixture of hydrophilic fibers and superabsorbent material, and a second absorbent layer (6) of liquid-absorbent fiber material which is highly compressed and thereby has good liquid-spreading ability. The first absorbent layer (5) is placed on that side of the article which is intended to face towards the wearer in use, and the second absorbent layer (6) is in direct connection with the first absorbent layer (5) on that side of the article which is distal from the wearer in use.

Abstract: An arrangement for depositing particles onto a moving material web includes a particle dispenser and a perforated belt which moves over the material web. According to the invention, the particle dispenser is intended to dispense particles continuously in a uniform and wide flow whose width is equal to or somewhat greater than the width of the hole-pattern of the belt and the belt is spaced at a distance from the material web which is at least sufficiently large for the particles deposited on the material web to be accommodated between the belt and the web. The arrangement also includes means which function to remove particles caught by the belt without the particles falling down onto the underlying material web. These means are located downstream of the particle dispenser. The invention also relates to a method for depositing particles to a moving material web.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a casing intended for an absorbent article, such as a disposable diaper, incontinence guard or like article. The casing (1) includes a front-part (5), a rear-part (10) and an intermediate crotch-part (22) made of flexible casing material. According to the invention, an elastic band (14, 15) is provided on each outer edge of the casing sides, at least within the crotch-part of the casing. The elastic band is attached, in a stretched state, to that side of the casing which lies nearest the skin of the user when the absorbent article is worn, by means of a narrow, elongated join. The elastic bands also include parts which extend transversely in relation to respective joins, in a direction from the joins in towards the central part of the casing.

The outer casing layer (3) has a lower liquid permeability than the inner casing layer (2), such that liquid absorbed by the article is able to pass through the outer casing layer and absorbed by the diaper or incontinence guard, relatively slowly and in a controlled fashion.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, includes an inner liquid-permeable casing sheet which is positioned nearest the body of the wearer when the article is worn, an outer liquid-permeable casing sheet, and an absorbent pad enclosed between the inner and outer casing sheets. The absorbent pad includes, at least in the crotch part of the article, a hose-like body that is comprised of a shape-stable material having a very high liquid permeability. The hose-like body is generally centrally positioned in the article and extends in the longitudinal direction of the article. The hose-like body borders on the inner casing sheet and is surrounded by absorbent material on at least the side thereof remote from the inner casing sheet. The article can also include liquid barriers positioned on respective sides of the hose-like body.

Flexible side-flaps (5, 6) are arranged at the long side edges of the absorbent pad (3) and are intended, when the article is used, to be folded around the edges of the wearer's underpants or like garment (9) in the crotch part thereof and attached to the outside of the underpants. Uplifted liquid barrier devices (10, 11) are provided on that side of the article which faces the wearer in use on both sides of the absorbent pad (3) along at least parts of the long side edges thereof between the absorbent pad and the flexible side-flaps.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing spunlace material in which there is formed a fibrous web by air-laying a layer of fibres of staple length on a forming wire and air-laying a layer of short fibres on top of the layer of staple fibres. According to the invention, the fibrous web is passed to an entangling wire 18 on which there is arranged at least one elongated element 17 whose diameter is much greater than the diameter of the wires 16 in the entangling wire 18, whereafter the fibrous web is entangled. The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the method, and to a spunlace material produced in accordance with the method.

Abstract: A lockable container is disclosed which has a base part and a cover which is pivotally attached to the base part. A lock has a lock catch which is adjustable between a locking position and a free position via key activation of the lock from the outside of the container. In its interior, the container is provided with a holder for a key belonging to the lock. The holder is arranged to form a storage place for the key and to securely hold the key when the lock is not being used. The holder is so located with respect to the lock that the lock catch, through mechanical contact with the key, is kept out of the locking position even when the cover is closed.

Abstract: An adjustable dispenser nozzle apparatus for a paper towel container of either rolled or folded towels. The apparatus comprises a base, an adjustable fixture and an inner sleeve. The base includes a plurality of extensions separated by slits. The fixture is adjustable and as it is further threaded onto the base the extensions of the base become narrowed, resulting in a smaller exit aperture for the dispenser nozzle. Furthermore, the bottom part of the base, which is comprised of a plurality of extensions, as well as the bottom part of the inner sleeve, have sharp edges. Thus, providing a suitable surface upon which the dispensed towel may be torn.
