Abstract: A device for separating floating or precipitating components from a liquid comprising a number of substantially parallel inclined passages between superposed partitions, and provided with additional mutually parallel guiding baffles at least at one extremity of this assembly for guiding the liquid and/or separated components towards the effective part of these passages without restricting the cross-section of the assembly. One or more slotted baffles transversely to these guiding baffles may improve the uniformity of the supplied liquid flow, and the latter may also be supplied by means of a slotted supply duct which is directed transversely to the guiding baffles.
Abstract: The power tool is especially adapted for driving one of a plurality of adjacently spaced members. The tool comprises a wrench adapter to be positioned over one of the members. A wrench extends laterally from the wrench adapter. An anchor assembly is coupled to the wrench adapter. The anchor assembly comprises an anchor ring rotatably mounted on the wrench adapter, an anchor adapter typically positionable over another of the members, and a reaction beam having one end coupled to the anchor ring and another end coupled to the anchor adapter.
Abstract: Device for the assorted collection of sheets, comprising a transport track and bins situated along this track. The bins are provided with guide organs and each bin can be moved so that its guide organ protrudes into the track so as to guide a sheet into a bin. In the transport track the sheets are transported by means of belts running around a vacuum holddown device so as to hold the sheets onto the belts. The device may be arranged to receive copy sheets exiting from a copying apparatus and may be operated selectively in a first mode in which all similar copy sheets are delivered to a particular bin, or in a second mode in which sheets are collated into a predetermined number of bins.
Abstract: Linear photochrome polycondensates of the polyester type are described which contain spiropyran photochromic groups as an integral part of the main polymer chain, have a glass transition temperature lower than 120.degree. C and possess photochromic properties at or above their glass transition temperature.Manufacture of stabilized photochromic images by exposing a layer of the photochromic polycondensate at a temperature at least equal to the glass transition temperature of the photochromic polycondensate and immediately cooling the thus exposed layer below the glass transition temperature.

Abstract: To improve the resistance of pigs to gastro-intestinal disorders, the endotoxins of one or more of the pathogenic E. coli serotypes C8, 045, 0138, 0139, 0141, 0147 and 0149 are introduced into the pig intestine. Administration, which may for example be in water or in a pig feed, stimulates the pig intestine to produce antibodies to the E. coli organisms.

Abstract: In a magazine for receiving, storing and delivering a long zigzag foldable belt having successive sections thereof stacked one upon another in upwardly bowed postures between zigzag folds bearing against oppositely disposed, downwardly convergent guide walls, proper placement of successive incoming belt sections on the stack within the magazine is effected, without need for precise synchronization of the feeding of the belt with the movement of fold positioning mechanism, by engagement of the entering belt folds with portions of continuously moving carriers, such as toothed belts or rollers protruding into and driven substantially vertically downwardly along upper regions of the magazine at the opposite sides thereof, which carrier portions displace the successive entering folds downwardly and lay them gently into their proper stacked position.
Abstract: Tobacco harvesting apparatus having a plurality of seats for workmen to hand prime tobacco plants and having a plurality of conveyors for transporting the tobacco leaves and discharging such leaves into a large bulk container.
Abstract: A hydrostatic transmission is provided with a variable capacity pump and a variable capacity motor. A control is operable to operate sequentially the pump and motor. A second control is provided to operate on the pump to override the signal to the pump from the first control without altering the setting of the motor. The first control thus acts as a ratio selector and the second control as a clutch.
Abstract: The body of the flyer provides two identical limbs and is formed as a single hollow piece and in that the roving guide is constituted by a tube housed inside the corresponding limb and extending on the one hand into the upper part of the hollow shaft and on the other hand, into the corresponding arm.

Abstract: An aqueous antimony pentoxide sol composition, comprising from 10% to 50% antimony pentoxide and the remainder water has been prepared. This sol composition also may contain up to 5.0% of an amine if desired. When this sol composition contains the amine, a dried composition may be obtained from this sol composition. This dried powder contains from 85% to 95% antimony pentoxide and from 2.5% to 10% of an amine, the remainder being absorbed and combined water. This dried composition when added to water or an organic solvent readily forms the stabilized sol composition originally obtained.

Abstract: A reserve supply of diazotype developing liquid from which liquid is supplied to semi-dry diazotype developing apparatus is maintained at both a substantially constant level and the required concentration of azo coupling component by introducing solvent for the liquid to restore the liquid level upon a decrease of the supply volume, sensing the specific gravity of the supply liquid by a hydrometer, and counteracting the decrease of concentration resulting from solvent addition by introducing a liquid concentrate containing the azo coupling component and electrolyte in response to a lowering of the hydrometer.
Abstract: This invention relates to apparatus for inserting prewound coils into the slots of a stator or of a field carrying member of a dynamoelectric device wherein pinching the coils during the insertion stage is reduced and wherein damage to the lamellae of the apparatus is substantially reduced.

The underside of the body member has a turret mounting a plurality of barrels for delivery of compressed air or flame to blow or melt accumulated snow and ice. The barrels of the air blower and flame thrower are arranged in pairs so that air and flame may be concentrated on each rail of the pair of rails making up a railroad track.
Abstract: A process for the production of polyurethane solutions by reaction of a diisocyanate with a mixture of a glycol and a polymer bearing terminal hydroxy groups in a solvent medium under certain prescribed conditions. Abstract: An image intensifier tube device including a plurality of diode image intensifier tubes. Each tube comprises a sealed cylindrical envelope having its one end closed by an entry window carrying a photo-sensitive, electron emitting layer enclosed by a good electrically conductive rim. A resistive layer is deposited by vaporization between the circumference of the electron emitting layer and the good electrically conductive rim, which resistive layer is connected to a terminal of a voltage source having its other terminal connected to an anode and to focussing means of the tube such that in response to a sudden increase in the brightness of the image to be intensified a voltage drop is produced across the resistive layer, as a result of which the emitted electrons are de-focussed and/or deflected.
