Abstract: A multilayer structure has barrier properties for gases and vapors, for example oxygen and water vapor; the structure comprises: an organic substrate layer, and a multilayer permeation barrier thereon; the barrier comprises: a) a first inorganic coating contacting a surface of the substrate layer, and b) a first organic coating contacting a surface of the inorganic coating; the structure may be employed in a variety of articles where barrier properties are important especially in electronic articles such as organic light emitting diode devices where superior barrier characteristics over the life of the device are required.

Abstract: Poultry processing methods and systems that provide for the processing of poultry at a plurality of processing stations, with the poultry being transferred between stations using an automated conveying system. Each individual poultry is retained in a poultry carrier designed to be conveyed by the automated conveying system. Each of the poultry carriers is preferably designed to retain only one individual poultry at a time. The systems and methods may also include identification tags that may be used to direct the poultry through the processing system with the automated conveying system. The identification tags may be associated with the poultry themselves or they may be associated with the poultry carriers.
Abstract: Bimodal polyolefins having a reverse or partial reversed comonomer incorporation may be prepared in the presence of a dual catalyst on the same support wherein each catalyst has a different response to temperature, ethylene partial pressures, partial pressure of non-polymerizable hydrocarbons present in the reaction mixture and hydrogen partial pressure.

Abstract: A volumetric computed tomography system with a large field of view has, in a forward geometry implementation, multiple x-ray point sources emitting corresponding fan beams at a single detector array. The central ray of at least one of the fan beams is radially offset from the axis of rotation of the system by an offset distance D. Consequently, the diameter of the in-plane field of view provided by the fan beams may be larger than in a conventional CT scanner. Any number of point sources may be used. Analogous systems may be implemented with an inverse geometry so that a single source array emits multiple fan beams that converge upon corresponding detectors.

Abstract: A strip dispenser has a strip magazine, a magazine spring, a strip vial component, and a cover. The strip magazine has a magazine open end and an outer magazine casing surrounding the strip magazine adjacent the open end for a predefined distance along the strip magazine where the magazine has a magazine volume with an open magazine top. The magazine spring is contained within the strip magazine. The strip vial component has a magazine receiving end, a closed end and a vial recess for slidably receiving the strip magazine between a first position and a second position where the vial recess has a shoulder portion spaced from the closed end and adjacent to and aligned with the open magazine top. The cover encloses the magazine open end and has a slit spaced a predefined distance from an edge of the cover where the slit is in communication with the magazine volume and the open magazine top and in spatial alignment with the shoulder portion.
Abstract: The present invention provides a process to treat steels, preferably carbon steel to reduce the tendency of the steel to form coke when in contact with hydrocarbons at elevated temperatures. The steel may be first reduced then treated with a mixture of compounds which further modify the reduced surface and finally the treated steel surface is cured. The treated steel has a reduced propensity to form coke when in contact with hydrocarbons particularly at higher temperatures.

Abstract: Relative Mean Arterial Pressure values are obtained non-invasively using a probe to obtain moisture measurements at a selected site on a subject. A control collects data samples.
Abstract: Alignment of layers during manufacture of a multi-layer sample is controlled by applying optical measurements to a measurement site in the sample. The measurement site includes two diffractive structures located one above the other in two different layers, respectively. The optical measurements comprise at least two measurements with different polarization states of incident light, each measurement including illuminating eh measurement site so as to illuminate one of the diffractive structures through the other. The diffraction properties of the measurement site are indicative of a lateral shift between eth diffractive structures. The diffraction properties detected are analyzed for the different polarization states of the incident light to determine an existing lateral shift between the layers.

Abstract: Apparatus for processing substrates according to a predetermined photolithography process includes a loading station in which the substrates are loaded, a coating station in which the substrates are coated with a photoresist material, an exposing station in which the photoresist coating is exposed to light through a mask having a predetermined pattern to produce a latent image of the mask on the photoresist coating, a developing station in which the latent image is developed, an unloading station in which the substrates are unloaded and a monitoring station for monitoring the substrates with respect to predetermined parameters of said photolithography process before reaching the unloading station.
