Dependent on said information, a transport path of the single sheet through the printer or copier to generate at least one print image on at least one side of the sheet is determined. A system time of the printer or copier is provided that is the same for at least first and second control units of the printer or copier. At least one desired point in time at or until which at least one sensor signal is expected or at least one actuator is activated is established dependent on the transport path, the desired point in time referring to the system time of the printer or copier.

Abstract: In a method, a printing system and a computer program for trapping of print data with a plurality of objects, the print data are generated, prepared and/or transferred together with trapping instructions in a print data stream for execution of the trapping. The print data stream references resource data that comprise trapping parameters and/or trapping instructions. The method can be executed in real time without a delay in the printing process hereby occurring. It can therefore be integrated into a print data stream for electrographic high-capacity printers.

Abstract: The method or system for controlling a printing or copying system for processing single sheets, a first single sheet and at least a second single sheet immediately following the first single sheet is processed with aid of n processing units. A required minimum distance between the first and the second single sheet is determined for each processing unit. A delay distance is determined for the first and at least for each of the n?1 following processing units. A difference between the minimum distance of a processing unit and a sum of the delay distances of the preceding processing units is formed. A charge shifting device is provided along with a recharging device. At least one of the charge shifting device and the recharging device has a corotron. With the charge shifting device, the charge of the first toner image is shifted to a second polarity opposite to the first polarity and with the recharging device the second toner image with the first polarity is recharged. The recording medium is passed between the first and the second transfer belts.

A drive unit is provided at an output of the device and draws the printing substrate web from the device. A buffer device having a buffer reservoir is provided at an output of the drive unit. The buffer reservoir has a negative pressure device that generates a negative pressure in a buffer reservoir. The negative pressure acts on the printing substrate web to pull the printing substrate web drawn by the drive unit into the buffer reservoir and thereby tensions the printing substrate web before it is supplied to the internal transport path.
