Abstract: A method is provided for optimized color reproduction of a color original image by a color reproduction device. Color values of a color space of the original image are determined. A color space of the color reproduction device is determined. The color spaces of the original image and of the color reproduction device are compared and it is established which color range of the original image cannot be reproduced by the color reproduction device. Via a color adaption method, an adaption of the non-reproducible color range of the original image, and of a boundary range bordering this non-reproducible color range, to the color space of the color reproduction device is provided. Then an image-specific color association is generated. The original image is output by the image reproduction device according to the image-specific color association.

Abstract: A device for electrically charging a transport belt for transport of recording media in a transfer printing area of an electrographic printer or copier as well as a method for charging. In a direction transverse to a running direction of the transport belt, a contact element is arranged bearing against the transport belt and via which electric charge is transferred to the transport belt, the contact element comprising a contact lip which is substantially comprised of a rubber material and which bears against the transport belt.

Abstract: In a method and system for operation of a transfer printing station of an electrographic printing device, a transfer printing station is provided comprising a light-sensitive medium onto which toner images are provided by electrostatic forces affected via a toner image electrical potential. A transport band is provided holding successive sheet-form recording medium by electrostatic forces. Toner images are transfer printed from the light-sensitive medium onto the successive sheet-form recording media by electrostatic forces affected by an electrical transfer printing potential. The electrical transfer printing potential is at least reduced while the light-sensitive medium passes into intervening space line between two successive recording media sheets. A cleaning station cleans off residual toner on the light-sensitive medium that is not transfer-printed. A cleaning device mechanically loosens residual toner from the transport band.

Abstract: In an electrophotographic printer or copier, toner images of images to be printed onto a printing substrate are generated and fixed, causing sliding characteristics to be worsened. In order to remedy this problem, a moistening device is provided that applies on the printing substrate a moistening agent made from a moistening fluid and a lubricant dissolved therein. Two problems are thus solved: the printing substrate is moistened and simultaneously lubricated.

Abstract: In a method for generating an IPDS data stream, different levels are defined with level numbers, whereby in each level a group of print data is combined on which the same operation is implemented. The operations are defined by operation numbers. A linkage exists between the level numbers and the operation numbers such that an operation number can be unambiguously assigned to a level number so that it can be determined using the linkage which level is provided for which operation. It is not necessary to generate and to maintain complex tables in order to be able to administrate the level corresponding to the required specification.

Abstract: In a method and system for transmitting messages over a data network, the communication task is used which is implemented on a transmitting microcontroller which determines, on the basis of a routing table, which communication system is used to forward the message to which adjacent microcontroller. A dual-ported RAM is provided between two microcontrollers as one type of communication system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and devices for cleaning the surfaces of applicator rollers, photoconductor drums, transfer belts, and photoconductor belts using magnetic roller systems. The invention also relates to methods and systems for cleaning magnetic rollers to whose surfaces toner particles adhere. In a first embodiment, a squeegee/scraper is disposed at a distance to the surface of the roller. In another embodiment, a magnetic stator configuration with two spaced apart magnetic elements is used whose poles have substantially the same active direction.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program provides for making an image area correction in a printing system. Print data is provided in a logical page order corresponding to at least one signature for printing. At least one parameter of a recording medium on which the print data are printed is determined, this parameter being relevant to the position of the printing format on the recording medium, which is folded according to the signature. The position of the pages is then corrected according to this parameter prior to printing, in such a way that the print formats of successive pages of the finished signature are positioned accurately.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mapping method, whereby color values of the color image to be mapped, represented in the RGB color space are mapped in the highlight-color color space, corresponding to a projection of the color values in highlight-color. The corresponding calculations are carried out in the RGB color space. A transformation into another color space is not necessary. Furthermore, various corrections are provided, such that a highlight color image is created which is as natural as possible for the human eye.

Abstract: In a method and system for transport of toner material, a reservoir arrangement containing the toner material is provided with a removal opening for removal of the toner material. The toner material is transported away from the removal opening with aid of a tube-shaped conduit, the toner material being transported in the tube-shaped conduit via an air current. A negative pressure is generated relative to environment pressure at the removal opening via the air current in the tube-shaped conduit. The reservoir arrangement is provided with at least one air-permeable and toner-tight region through which air is sucked into the reservoir arrangement upon application of the negative pressure. At least the air-permeable and toner-tight region is partitioned airtight from the environment, environment air being supplied to the partitioned region via a dosing nozzle.

Also a method or system is provided for automatic generation of messages in an electrophotographic printer or copier wherein a text message that contains at least an error code is automatically generated with aid of a data processing system after occurrence of a preset error state. The message is sent to a preset recipient.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing continuous belts is disclosed. The belts are formed from plastic films and are used as transfer belts in electrographic printers and copiers. The ends of the film are welded together by abutting their front faces and the ends are held together under pressure while being heated by radiation to a temperature to cause welding of the ends.

Abstract: In a method or program for automatic execution of a job ticket for a printing press, the job ticket with a tree structure is imported in which at least one intent node is contained, the intent node having at least one template name and one resource listed. The template name specified in the intent node and the at least one template name specified in the intent node are determined. A template that exhibits the template name and has capabilities to process the at least one resource in the intent note is selected. The selected template is inserted into the tree structure of the job ticket such that it is subordinated to the respective intent node.

Abstract: In a method or device for development of potential images previously generated on a potential image carrier, the potential images comprising images to be printed as image locations, in an electrophotographic printing or copying device, an applicator roller directs a liquid developer comprising carrier fluid and toner particles onto the potential image carrier for inking of the image locations of the potential images such that a developer gap provided between the potential image carrier and the applicator rollers is substantially filled. A proportion of the toner particles is mixed with the carrier fluid with a viscosity between 0.1 to 80 mPa*s using a dispersion promoting additive such that the liquid developer has a viscosity between 1-99 mPa*s, so that the toner particles dispersed in the liquid developer in a region of the image locations of the potential images migrate onto. the potential image carrier and no toner particles migrate in regions that are not to be developed.

Signals of the sensors are supplied to a control device which includes an actuator. The actuator changes the position of the lateral edge of the web.

Abstract: A printer or copier system with at least one of a pre-processing unit and a post-processing unit, comprises a printing unit that generates a print image on a carrier material. An operating unit is connected via a data line with the printing unit. The operating unit outputs at least one graphical user interface on a display for operation of the printing unit. At least one processing unit is connected with at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit for processing of the carrier material such that data are transferable between the processing unit and at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit. In the processing unit, data are stored that are transferred to at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit with which the graphical user interface is activated at least for operation of the processing unit.

Abstract: In a method for treatment of a surface of a cleaning roller in an electrographic printing or copying device, the cleaning roller is provided as a roller casing tube on which is applied a ceramic layer. The ceramic layer is blasted with a grit. A cleaning roller is also provided according to the method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for generating positionally-accurate print images on a carrier material with the aid of an electrophotographic printer or copier. A positioning error of the position of the carrier material with respect to a toner image present on the toner image carrier is determined, which error occurs during the contacting of a carrier material to be printed. Dependent on the positioning error determined, for every subsequent contacting of the carrier material to be printed with the toner image carrier, the position of the carrier material with respect to the toner image is adapted before the contacting such that the carrier material and the toner image are arranged with respect to one another substantially free of positioning errors.
