Abstract: An improved static mixer for use in a plural component dispensing apparatus is disclosed having a spacer intermediate a plurality of mixing elements to enhance the mixing and blending of the plural components. The static mixer may employ an air assist to increase the mixing energy within static mixer.
Abstract: A thermal CVD process for forming silicon carbide-type films onto a substrate comprising the steps of:(a) introducing di-tert-butylsilane vapor into a CVD reaction zone containing said substrate on which a silicon carbide film is to be formed;(b) maintaining the temperature of said zone and said substrate at about 400.degree. C. to about 1,100.degree. C.;(c) maintaining the pressure in said zone at about 0.1 to about 10 torr; and(d) passing said vapor into contact with said substrate for a period of time sufficient to form a silicon carbide-type film thereon.
Abstract: A combustible bayonet type primer for combustible cannon cartridge cases comprises a primer head assembly adapted to be inserted in a cartridge case, a tubular housing made of a combustible material, an igniter strand axially disposed in said housing, and a confining means for confining one end of the igniter strand so that the initial ignition rate is about 1000 m/s. The ignited strand in turn ignites a black powder charge contained within a cloth bag within the tubular housing. The housing is an unpressurized container for the igniter strand and the black powder charge and is consumed during the burn of the propellant bed along with the igniter strand and the combustible case.

Abstract: In a polyurethane foam dispensing apparatus there is provided a foam gun block heater for the isocyanate and the polyol feed lines to prevent cold shots from occuring when the foam dispensing apparatus is initially used.
Abstract: An ammunition cartridge comprises a combustible tubular case having a threaded open end having a uniform density of plastic resin at said end. A generally cup shaped head having a cylindrical peripheral wall provided with threads corresponding to said threaded open end is engaged with the threaded end so as to close the end. The resin is preferably a polyurethane resin and the threads are preferably 60 degree stub threads.
Abstract: An apparatus to perform the electrostatic transfer of a developed image from a master having a permanent latent image therein to a receiving surface in which the master is moved between a first position remote from said receiving surface to a second position in overlying relation with said receiving surface for image transfer. A wicking station is moveable between a first position and a second position to deposit an insulating solvent on said receiving surface and return to its first position at a slower speed than the speed of the master returning to its first position. Gap spacer strips are provided which are played out over the receiving surface as the wicking station moves to its second position. The gap spacer strips in combination with a drive motor serve to return the wicking station to its first position.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass/ceramic sealing system. A sealing glass having a coefficient of thermal expansion in excess of 160.times.10.sup.-7 in/in/.degree. C. is provided. The glass is useful for matched sealing of copper and copper based alloys. The glass is capable of ceramization, greatly increasing the resistance of the glass to moisture penetration and fracture due to mechanical damage. The temperature of ceramization has been designed so that a solutionized copper alloy leadframe is age hardened during ceramization. The glass has particular utility in the manufacture of electronic packages and multi-layer circuitry.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a terminal pin for electronic circuitry. The terminal pin includes an axial passageway. Various processes for electrically connecting the pin to the circuit are provided. The processes include riveting, welding and soldering. The axial passageway aids in the control of metal deformation to improve the bond between the pin and the circuitry.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for coating sintered cermet or cerglass articles with a metal or metal alloy. The process is particularly useful to eliminate pores and cavities from the surface of the article. During hermeticity testing, these pores and cavities trap tracer gas and result in an erroneous leak rate measurement. In one embodiment, the coated surfaces are subsequently coated with a second metal layer by immersion plating followed by electrolytic deposition. The process is particularly suited to the manufacture of cermet and cerglass components for semiconductor packages.
Abstract: A metal electronic package is provided having improved electromagnetic interference shielding. Metal base and cover components are electrically interconnected to remain at same voltage potential thereby reducing EMI induced mutual inductance. An electrically conductive conduit, such as a contact pin, provides interconnection. If the electronic device is mounted on a chip pad attach, the conductive conduit also connects to the support pads of the chip attach.

The quick disconnect connection has shutoff valves that isolate the bulk chemical supply container to prevent depth contamination of the replenishing chemical upon connection and disconnection of the bulk supply chemical container from the automatic refill system.
Abstract: An industrial shotgun is provided with a pistol type hand grip assembly, a remote trigger mechanism, and a hanging support bracket at approximately the center of mass of the industrial gun. The remote trigger mechanism includes a remote trigger coupled from the hand grip to the trigger through a horizontal linking bar. The trigger is disengaged from the remote trigger when the breech block is opened. The hand grip includes a dead man safety which prevents remote trigger actuation unless the thumb operated dead man safety is depressed and the breech block is fully closed.
