Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining losses due to obstructions in a wireless communications system are described. Pairs of measurements points, one of each side of an obstruction are selected, and wireless device reported received signal energy measurements corresponding to the pair of selected locations are used to determine a path loss through the obstruction. In some embodiments, the pair of measurements points are selected based on one or more of: wireless device orientation at the time of measurement, application in use at the time of measurement, time between measurements, or location between measurements. In one example, a first selected location in the pair corresponds to an outdoor location with a unobstructed line of sight view to the base station, while the second selected location corresponds to an indoor location.

Abstract: A method for preventing a collision between a first object and a second object using a camera. The method includes capturing images of the first object and the second object using the camera, accessing a database of point clouds, and identify a first point cloud corresponding to the first object and a second point cloud corresponding to the second object within the database of point clouds, where the first point cloud corresponds to the first object being a person. The method further includes calculating a distance between the first object and the second object and comparing the distance to a threshold. The method further includes generating a notification when the distance is below the threshold.

Abstract: Data encryption and Human Pose Estimation based on imaging a body segment. A key for encrypting a data file is generated based on image data that represent a unique biometric feature of a body segment of a user or motion of the user. An image engine executes artificial intelligence to identify matching image data for decrypting the data file. The image engine is further trained to predict changes in image data due to aging, stress, and the like. An avatar associated with the user, which is generated based on a movement pattern of the user, is configurable for generating an encryption key and for use in an avatar-based language.

Abstract: A communication system includes multiple repeater wireless stations and communication management hardware. The multiple repeater wireless stations receive first wireless signals from a wireless base station. The multiple repeater wireless stations transmit second wireless signals from the multiple repeater wireless stations to a mobile communication device. The second wireless signals are reproductions of the first wireless signals. The communication management hardware controls phase shifts of the second wireless signals in time such that the second wireless signals received by the mobile communication device are phase aligned.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting driver demand wheel torque of a vehicle. The driver demand wheel torque may be adjusted as a function of a minimum wheel torque. The minimum wheel torque may be determined according to a plurality of torques that may be evaluated in three different phases.

Abstract: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods provided herein are useful for dispensing a fluid, such as a thixotropic fluid. In some embodiments, a bottle having a closure cap includes a flip top, a base, and a disk, where the base and disk define a mixing chamber configured to facilitate mixing of any serum or liquid separated from the fluid back therein. In some configurations, the base has a central opening through which the fluid exits and an internal shaft with a non-planar end surface opposite the central opening. In some configurations, the non-planar end surface and the disk define channels between the mixing chamber and the internal shaft. In some embodiments, the disk includes a central opening, a plurality of partial annular openings through a planar surface of the disk, and projections extending into the mixing chamber.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a system that converts an audio object (e.g., an audio book, a podcast, a videoconference meeting) to text with SSML tags so that any future text-to-speech conversion enables speech synthesis to sound more human-like. The system analyzes the audio object to identify speech output characteristics for different tokens. Variations in speech output characteristics can distinguish between an utterance spoken by one character and an utterance spoken by another character. The system assigns the tokens to the characters and compares a speech output characteristic for a token to a baseline speech output characteristic associated with an identified character. Next, the system determines an amount of deviation between the speech output characteristic for the token and the baseline speech output characteristic. The system uses this deviation to determine a relative speech output characteristic value, which is to be included in an SSML tag for a token.

Stable oral liquid compositions of apixaban, methods for their administration, processes for their production, and use of these compositions for treatment of diseases treatable by apixaban are disclosed.

Abstract: The technology described herein determines whether a candidate text is in a requested class by using a generative model that may not be trained on the requested class. The present technology may use of a model trained primarily in an unsupervised mode, without requiring a large number of manual user-input examples of a label class. The may produce a semantically rich positive example of label text from a candidate text and label. Likewise, the technology may produce from the candidate text and the label a semantically rich negative example of label text. The labeling service makes use of a generative model to produce a generative result, which estimates the likelihood that the label properly applies to the candidate text. In another aspect, the technology is directed toward a method for obtaining a semantically rich example that is similar to a candidate text.

Abstract: A wearable electronic device includes one or more processors identifying one or more companion electronic devices operating within a wireless communication radius of the wearable electronic device. One or more sensors identify the wearable electronic device being within a predefined distance of a companion electronic device. A wireless communication circuit, responsive to the one or more processors, delivers an authentication credential to the companion electronic device in response to the one or more sensors identifying that the wearable electronic device is within the predefined distance of the companion electronic device. The one or more sensors thereafter detect a gaze of an authorized user of the wearable electronic device being directed at the companion electronic device, where the wireless communication circuit delivers an actuation command to the companion electronic device.

Methods are described for immobilizing assay reagents in a controlled fashion on these electrodes and other surfaces. Assay modules and cartridges are also described that have a detection chamber, preferably having integrated electrodes, and other fluidic components which may include sample chambers, waste chambers, conduits, vents, bubble traps, reagent chambers, dry reagent pill zones and the like. In certain preferred embodiments, these modules are adapted to receive and analyze a sample collected on an applicator stick.
