Publication number: 20250014472Abstract: A system and process for dynamic security monitoring of test taking. The system combines historical information about the test taker or relevant conditions, and includes sensors which objectively monitor test taker's actions, inactions, and involuntary response to the test given before and during the test, and at a specific test location. The information collected from the sensors is compared to a plurality of predetermined individual risk factors, which indicate a possibility of test fraud by the individual test taker to create a test event risk profile. The individual risk profile is combined with non-individual specific risk factors to create a holistic test event security profile. Security resources are then dynamically assigned to or removed from the test event based on the unique test event security profile.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2024Publication date: January 9, 2025Applicant: Caveon, LLCInventors: David Foster, Steve Addicott

Publication number: 20250011657Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to two improved catalysts and associated processes that directly convert carbon dioxide and hydrogen to liquid fuels. A catalytic system comprises two catalysts in series that are operated in tandem to directly produce synthetic liquid fuels. The carbon conversion efficiency for CO2 to liquid fuels is greater than 45%. The fuel is distilled into a premium diesel fuels (approximately 70 volume %) and naphtha (approximately 30 volume %) which are used directly as “drop-in” fuels without requiring any further processing. Any light hydrocarbons that are present with the carbon dioxide are also converted directly to fuels. This process is directly applicable to the conversion of CO2 collected from ethanol plants, cement plants, power plants, biogas, carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon mixtures from secondary oil recovery, and other carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon streams.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2024Publication date: January 9, 2025Applicant: Infinium Technology, LLCInventors: Robert Schuetzle, Dennis Schuetzle, Orion Hanbury

CONTROLLING INTERNAL BATTERY PRESSURE BUILDUP IN RECHARGABLE BATTERIES WITH A CRUSHABLE INSERT LAYER
Publication number: 20250015412Abstract: Excessive expansion of rechargeable batteries during recharging is a significant concern since the uncontrolled buildup of high internal battery pressures from expansion inside a confined space can lead to separator membrane failure and/or thermal runaway of a battery cell. A crushable foam or honeycomb insert layer is placed inside of a rigid battery fixture to automatically limit the progressive buildup of internal battery pressure due to charging-induced expansion of the battery cell during recharging. The crushable insert layer is included as part of the rigid battery fixture. Aluminum honeycomb cores and porous aluminum metal foam materials have a significant amount of crushability over a very wide range of compressive strains. Alternatively, a porous metal foam or metal honeycomb material may be infused with a liquid polymer (e.g., silicone, rubber, EDPM, or polyurethane) to enhance the mechanical properties of the polymer-infused metal foam or honeycomb metal/polymer composite material.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2023Publication date: January 9, 2025Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Meng Jiang, Yongjie Zhu, Louis G.
