Abstract: A preformed web and a method of producing dunnage units from the preformed web. The web is an elongate flattened thermoplastic tube having an inflation edge and an opposite edge. The tube includes spaced transverse seals that define sides of pouches. The tube includes lines of perforations that allow adjacent dunnage units to be separated. A starting point of the lines of perforations is spaced apart from the inflation edge. The positions of the starting point of the lines of perforations with respect to the inflation edge is selected such that a cutter that cuts the inflation edge clears the line of perforations. Binding or wrinkling is therefore not caused by engagement of the cutter with the lines of perforations.

Abstract: A bistable device allows supercurrent to flow when functioning in one regime, wherein magnetization directions of different magnetic layers are antiparallel, but restricts supercurrent when switched to function in a resistive regime, wherein the magnetization directions are parallel. In the first regime, the device acts as a Josephson junction, which allows it to be used in superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) and other circuits in which quantization of magnetic flux in a superconducting loop is desired. In the second, resistive regime, flux quantization is effectively eliminated in loops containing the device, and current is diverted to parallel superconducting components. The bistable device thereby acts as a superconducting switch, useful for a variety of circuit applications, including to steer current for memory or logic circuits, adjust logical circuit functionality at runtime, or to burn off stray flux during cooldown.

Abstract: A controller of an embodiment includes a limiter receiving an active current command initial value, limiting a maximum value of the active current command initial value with a predetermined value, and outputting a first value; a circuit to calculate a reactive current command initial value; a calculator to calculate a reactive current command adjustment value; a unit receiving the first value as an input, and calculating a reactive current upper limit value such that a composite value of the first value and the reactive current upper limit value is equal to or smaller than an input current maximum value; and a limiter to output the reactive current command adjustment value or the reactive current upper limit value, whichever is smaller. The predetermined value is a value to set the reactive current upper limit value to a value larger than zero and smaller than the input current maximum value.

Abstract: A method for balancing inroute traffic load that contains both guaranteed QoS and best effort traffic. Hierarchical grouping levels are defined with the lowest level corresponding to inroutes within the system. Certain levels have common symbol rates, modulation rates, or both. When a new terminal requires admission, it is assigned to entries in the different hierarchical levels so that the inroute traffic load across all levels are balanced. Terminals are admitted to inroutes based, in part, on their channel quality indicator. Inroute traffic load can periodically rebalance based on elapsed time or terminal redistribution.
Abstract: In a vehicle-mounting structure disclosed by the present specification, a housing (20) of an electric power controller (5) is supported above an in-vehicle transaxle via a bracket having an insulative vibration-proof material. The housing (20) and the transaxle are connected to each other by power cables (19). A braided wire (17) for grounding is routed along the power cables (19). A connector (10) of the power cables (19) has a resin flange (112) on a surface thereof that is joined to the housing (20). The connector (10) is fixed to the housing (20) by bolts (12a and 13a) that penetrate the flange (112). An end fitting (16) of the braided wire (17) is attached to the flange (112). The end fitting (16) and the bolt (13a) are electrically connected to each other by a conductive plate (14a).

Abstract: A scalable signal processing system is disclosed that processes digitized spectrum received from a constellation of satellites (or other sources), extracting multiple digital signals from multiple sources through multiple acquisition sites that is virtualized with high availability. A system of one or more antennas can receive a range of frequencies of raw spectrum covering multiple visible orbit planes, where a single antenna can receive signals from multiple satellite concurrently. This can be particularly useful when establishing a constellation satellites, where a number of satellites can be grouped together within an antenna's field of view. A group of digitizers receive the signals from the antennas and creates raw samples to form a spectrum sample pool. The spectrum sample pool is stored in a raw frame archive, where the digitizers and raw frame archive can be co-located and can also be co-located with one or more of the antennas.
