Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, a terpene-rich sample is prepared for terpene analysis using liquid chromatography via an extraction method that takes little time, uses minimal external equipment, and permits direct injection of extracted terpenes into a liquid chromatography instrument for analysis. An embodiment of the invention involves preparing a terpene-containing sample for analysis by liquid chromatography by liquid extraction; heating the liquid extract in a vial that contains a filter medium or solvent; collecting the terpenes in the medium by the vapor pressure forced through the filter from heating; and eluting the collected terpenes into a vial or directly into a chromatography injector.

Abstract: A method is described for determining a set of coding formats usable by a first terminal to establish communications with a second terminal. The method includes obtaining, from a server, a first set of coding formats permitted on the communication network, and associated with a type of access network and with a type of communication service, and obtaining a second set of coding formats supported by the terminal, a type of access network, and a type of communication service which are used by the terminal. A third set of coding formats are determined, corresponding to a set of coding formats supported by the terminal and permitted by the network with regard to the type of network access and to the type of communication service used by the terminal, and a setup message is transmitted to the second terminal including at least one coding format included in the third set when the third set is not empty.

Abstract: A management method is described, the method implemented by a transmission device capable of communicating via a first wireless with a gateway device forming a node of a telecommunication network and configured to communicate with at least one server of the network via the gateway device. The method can include establishing a secure communication session with a terminal included in a list of terminals for which the transmission device has obtained management data. The method can also include receiving via the first communication link a request to end the management of the terminal, and removing the terminal from the list following the receipt of the request. A transmission device which can be used to implement the management method is also described.

Abstract: An order processing system includes a plurality of robotic devices, a set of storage systems, an order consolidation system, and a control server. The control server receives a set of orders for an item, determines a cumulative order quantity of the item, and selects a subset of the set of orders to be opened up for consolidation at the order consolidation system. The control server identifies one the storage systems that stores the item as per the cumulative order quantity and assigns the storage system to an operator station for batch picking of the cumulative order quantity. The control server controls a first robotic device to transport the storage system to the operator station, and a second robotic device to collect from the operator station a first portion of the cumulative order quantity and transfer the first portion to a set of order bins associated with the subset of orders.

Abstract: A method of activating at least one processing entity from among a plurality of entities situated on the path of a data of a session between a terminal of a user and a server of a services provider. The terminal and the server are attached to a communications network. In the method, the terminal: sends to the server an identification message to receive identifiers of entities of the plurality, which are added to the message by the entities; receive from the server an acknowledgement message including the identifiers included in the identification message; select at least one identifier from among those received from the server; and send to the server a message relating to the activation of entities from among the plurality.

Abstract: A method for executing a client application on a client terminal communicating with a server application on a server via a telecommunications network. The client application includes at least two views, at least one view being configured to establish at least one request to the server application. According to the method, the client application is associated with a data structure relating to the views of the application, in which at least one parametrization attribute of the request is associated with a view. The method includes the following steps on the client application: selecting a view, termed a current view; obtaining of an attribute associated with the current view in the data structure relating to the views of the application; and generating a request to the server application.

Abstract: A transmission device suitable for communicating via a radio link with a gateway equipment of a telecommunications network and configured to communicate with a management server. The device is able to obtain authentication data associated with a terminal configured such that it connects with an application server to: set up a communication session with the terminal; to transmit session set-up data to the management server in order to register the terminal in a list of connected terminals; and to receive and retransmit a data message transmitted by the terminal or by the application server. Abstract: An identification device, method and system for identifying a scene in an environment. The environment includes at least one sound capture device. The identification device is configured to identify the scene based on at least two sounds captured in the environment. Each of the at least two sounds are associated respectively with at least one sound class. The scene is identified by taking account of a chronological order in which the at least two sounds were captured.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting a multimedia communication problem. In one aspect, this is implemented by an execution entity, in a processing phase. A message(s) is received that belongs to at least one stream to be monitored relating to at least one media stream. A correspondence between the received message(s) and rule(s) associated with a stream(s) to be monitored is verified. If verified an error detection massage is sent to a checking entity separate from the execution entity, via a rule management entity.

Abstract: A manhole cover for a manhole provided with an access opening and suitable for containing a device for transmitting a radiofrequency signal is described. The cover includes a wall for covering the access opening when the cover is in a closed position, where the wall includes at least one through-opening filled with a sealing material, the sealing material extending over the surface of the wall of the cover that is oriented towards the inside of the manhole when the cover is in a closed position, the sealing material comprising a material that is transparent to the propagation of a radiofrequency signal transmitted from and/or to the transmission device.

Abstract: A system includes a user interface for allowing a user to select a data stream to be played, a receiver for receiving the data stream to be played and a transmitter for transmitting the received data stream to a device that is capable of playing the stream. The system includes a first and a second device, which are separate from one another. The first device, called a receiving device, integrates the receiver and the transmitter. The second device, called a control device, integrates the user interface and, following the selection, by a user, of a stream to be played and preview on the control device, transmits to the first device a command for playing the selected stream, the command containing data for locating the selected stream.

Abstract: A method for decoding a data stream representative of an image split into blocks. For a current block of the image, an item of information indicating a coding mode among a first and a second coding mode of the current block is decoded from the data stream and the current block is decoded depending on this information. When the coding mode of the current block corresponds to the second coding mode, the current block is reconstructed from a prediction obtained, for each pixel, from another previously decoded pixel belonging to the current block or to a previously decoded block of the image, and from a decoded residue associated with the pixel. At least one processing method is applied to the reconstructed current block for at least one pixel of the current block depending on the coding mode of the current block and/or the coding mode of the neighbouring blocks.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described which relate to the assistance or guidance of a user in the detection of an element in an area. A search assistant for searching for an element in an area may include a direction changer for changing the direction of emission of a visible signal on the basis of detected relative data of an element sought in the area, the relative data detected by at least one sensor such as an audio sensor or a video sensor. Such a search assistant may use a simple visible signal for guidance toward the element sought in the area. The technology used may be easy to implement, cheap and readily accessible, allowing guidance precision that depends solely on the precision of the known or detected location of the sought object.

Abstract: A method for recognizing a user carrying a terminal capable of receiving a radio signal coming from a device equipped with an antenna suitable for transmitting the signal. The signal is intended to be transmitted between the device and the terminal by using electromagnetic wave conduction capacities of the body of the user when at least one part of his/her body is in the vicinity of the antenna. When the user makes a characteristic movement, to move the part of his/her body close to the antenna, the device transmits a characteristic signal of the movement. The method includes: receiving a signal coming from the device; generating a characteristic datum of the movement; obtaining at least one signature; comparing the characteristic datum with the signature; and depending on the results of the comparison, recognizing the user.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a method implemented by a first terminal for setting up a session with a second terminal. An identifier of a session server is obtained at least from a subscriber device in the first terminal which comprises a subscriber identifier and an operator identifier. A session request and an identifier of the second terminal are sent to the server. At least one instruction is received from the server and a message comprising a first set, relative to the first terminal, of at least one characteristic parameter of the requested session is generated in accordance with at least one instruction received and sent to the server. A message is received from the server comprising a second set of at least one characteristic parameter of the requested session, the second set relating to the second terminal and having a non-zero overlap with the first set.

Abstract: A method and a device for guiding an individual in an environment comprising at least one actuator capable of being remotely controlled is disclosed. The method is implemented by a computer, and comprises determining, based on a starting point and a destination point for the individual in the environment and based on a digital model of the environment comprising a location of each actuator, a path within the environment connecting the starting point and the destination point, determining, from the determined path, a set of actuators located on the path, and issuing of an activation command for at least one actuator in the set of actuators in order to guide the individual along the path.

Abstract: A method for facilitating operations in storage facilities. A server receives a service request for performing a first operation in the storage facility. The server identifies a first storage unit based on the service request. The server identifies an operation zone of the first storage unit for performing the first operation. The server determines an ergonomic score for each operator for performing the first operation based on characteristics of the operation zone and the fatigue level of the corresponding operator. The server allocates the first storage unit to a first operator for performing the first operation, based on the determined ergonomic scores, thereby ensuring an increased throughput of the storage facility.

Abstract: Obtaining a communication network access profile for a first security module associated with a first user device. On receipt of a command for associating the first user device with a subscription with an operator including a second user device associated with a second security module, the second user device sends the first user device a message including a contact address of a server configured to provide by downloading an access profile and a datum allowing the server to interrogate a control server to obtain an order for downloading the access profile. This message triggers sending by the first security module a request for obtaining an access profile associated with the subscription, addressed to the contact address and having the datum. On obtaining an order, the access profile is downloaded into the first security module, a confirmation being sent by the first user device to the second user device.

Abstract: A method for authenticating a client terminal by a target server. The method includes: the client terminal authenticates itself with an authentication server; the target server authenticates itself with the authentication server; the authentication server and the target server share a password for the client terminal; the authentication server transmits the password to the client terminal; the client terminal transmits the password to the target server; and the target server determines whether or not there is a correspondence between the password shared with the authentication server and the password transmitted by the client terminal, and if the correspondence between passwords exists, the client terminal is authenticated by the target server.

Abstract: A method for obtaining video chunks of a video sphere for display on a head-mounted display connected to a video server is described, the video chunks being spatially split into a plurality of tiles that can be encoded on at least two different quality levels, including a high quality level and a low quality level, and a display window includes a video sphere portion that is to be displayed at a particular display time. Prior to the display time, the display window is predicted, tiles covering the estimated display window are estimated, and assigned a high quality level, and tiles adjoining those tiles are estimated and assigned a low quality level. A request is sent to a video server to obtain an encoded tile at the associated quality level. The tiles are received from the video server, the display window is determined, and the tiles corresponding to the determined display window are decoded and displayed.
