Abstract: There is disclosed, a desalination apparatus making use of a particles including covalently bonded functionalized magnetic nanoparticles coupled to a complexing agent. For example, the complexing agent may include a crown ether. The particles are optionally used for removing salt from water, for example sea water. The apparatus optionally includes a magnet for magnetic filtering, concentrating and/or removing the particles and/or contaminant (e.g., salt). In some embodiments, the salt is then separated back from the particles using UV light. The remaining unclarified water may be washed out with the contaminant and/or used for salt production and/or disposed of (e.g., dumped back to the sea). Optionally, the particles are regenerated. For example, the regenerated particulars may be reused for further desalination steps (e.g., further salt removal from the clarified water) to clarify new input water. Covalently bonded functionalized magnetic nanoparticles coupled to a complexing agent are also disclosed.

Abstract: A mobile volumetric concrete mixing system includes a suction system that vacuums up trench spoils while a trench is being cut. These trench spoils are then screened on-site for particle size to be reused and mixed with water, cement, and/or other admixtures at an auger mixer to form a backfill mixture. This backfill mixture may then be loaded into a hopper that continuously agitates the mixture so that the mixture does not harden before pouring. The agitating hopper is coupled to a discharge chute of the auger mixer and includes one or more augers disposed at various orientations that the backfill mixture is channeled through. From the agitating hopper, the backfill mixture is channeled to an applicator that moves along the trench and that enables the mixture to be quickly poured into the trench with little clean-up required.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a panel clamp securable to a variety of mounting mechanisms. The clamp includes first and second members, each having an edge extending beyond at least a portion of its side surface to form an overhang, and each includes a plurality of holes passing therethrough. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition for increasing the expression of a blood coagulation factor gene, which contains core-shell structured microparticles as an active ingredient. When administered in vivo along with blood coagulation factor VIII gene or a variant gene thereof, the composition for increasing the expression of a blood coagulation factor gene of the present disclosure can increase the expression of the gene by at least 30%. When administered along with a gene therapeutic agent, the composition can achieve a therapeutic effect even with a very small amount of a gene, and thus is useful.

Abstract: A method is provided that comprises collecting financial data points and normalizing the data points into a time series. The time series is merged into aggregates according to sliding windows that comprise different time periods and a sliding step increment. A periodic change in an increasing and convex transformation is computed for each aggregate, and multi-dimensional time-delayed coordinate embedding is applied to each aggregate. The sliding windows are applied to the time-delayed aggregates, and time series of variances and point clouds are derived within each sliding window. Persistence homologies and time series norms are computed for the point clouds, and the time series norms are correlated with the time series of variances. A warning of an impending financial crisis is output if the correlation of the time series norms with the time series of variances exceeds a predefined threshold.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing deep learning samples for geographic information extraction from remote sensing images. The samples can be produced by fusing two results from flood fill algorithm in image processing and deep learning model in artificial intelligence. In deep learning reasoning by changing an input image, such as rotation, translation, scaling, color & saturation adjustment and so on, multi-input images can be gotten and the corresponding output results are fused as a result by a rule of “Output by Bitwise Maximum Grayscale”. Finally the fusion result is perfected by man-machine interaction and supplemented to sample set. The method can improve the efficiency of producing deep learning samples, reduce the subjectivity of manual sample production and ensure the sample quality.
