  • Patent number: 11192805
Abstract: Leachate remediation is performed by synergistic chemical oxidation and photocatalytic-oxidation enhancer system (SCOPES) of municipal landfill leachate to a level that is safe for disposal within regulatory guidelines. The physico-chemical (chemical, spectroscopic, elemental, microstructural and thermal) characteristics of the pre- and post-treated landfill leachate have been investigated to examine the utility of advanced oxidation (AO) processes such as SCOPES to decontaminate the municipal landfill leachate and/or toxic organic wastewater. The experimental results demonstrated successful lowering of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and UV-Vis absorbance for constituent contaminants in the leachate and/or wastewater solutions.

  • Patent number: 11154869
Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for pulverization and explosion suppression of low carbon gas hydrate (LCGH). A feeding chamber connects with a pulverizing chamber, and the chambers communicate through a feed port. A pulverizing air pipe and the feeding chamber communicate through a feeding air pipe; two ends of a venturi connect with an entrainment chamber and a disperser respectively; and a gas-solid separation membrane (GSSM) is disposed on a discharging port and used for preventing LCGH powder from entering the entrainment chamber from the pulverizing chamber. When an explosion is triggered, the GSSM is opened to make the LCGH powder enter the entrainment chamber. The device can store and pulverize the LCGH and spray LCGH powder to achieve combustion and explosion suppression.

  • Patent number: 11117932
Abstract: Aberrant cross talk between Notch ligand (e.g. Jag1) and Notch receptor (e.g. Notch1) has been implicated in tumorigenesis in the colon. Inhibition of Notch pathway is therefore an attractive approach for treating diseases with upregulated Jag1 e.g. colorectal cancer (CRC). Pan-notch inhibitors like gamma secretase inhibitors (GSIs) have been developed to inhibit Notch and its downstream events. However, severe gastrointestinal toxicity profiles impede the clinical development of GSIs. The present invention develops novel oligopeptides that specifically inhibit Jag1-Notch1 pathway without interfering DLL1-Notch1 or DLL4-Notch1, which demonstrates a clear advantage over pan-notch inhibitors.

  • Patent number: 11038520
Abstract: A method for analog-to-digital conversion with reconfigurable function mapping for acceleration of calculating an activation function of a neural network system includes determining, by a shared circuit, a set of voltage intervals using digital bits in a look-up table to define a shape of the activation function being mapped. The shared circuit determines a set of most significant bits (MSBs) for each voltage interval by storing additional bits in the look-up table corresponding to each voltage interval entry. Further, each of several per-neuron circuits determines whether its accumulated input voltage is in a received voltage interval, and if so, causing the set of MSBs to be stored. Each of the per-neuron circuits determines a set of least significant bits (LSBs) by performing a linear interpolation over the voltage interval. The set of MSBs and the set of LSBs are output as a result of the activation function with analog-to-digital conversion.

  • Patent number: 10957045
Abstract: Optimizations are provided for segmenting tissue objects included in an ultrasound image. Initially, raw pixel data is received. Here, each pixel corresponds to ultrasound information. This raw pixel data is processed through a first fully convolutional network to generate a first segmentation label map. This first map includes a first set of objects that have been segmented into a coarse segmentation class. Then, this first map is processed through a second fully convolutional network to generate a second segmentation label map. This second map is processed using the raw pixel data as a base reference. Further, this second map includes a second set of objects that have been segmented into a fine segmentation class. Then, a contour optimization algorithm is applied to at least one of the second set of objects in order to refine that object's contour boundary. Subsequently, that object is identified as corresponding to a lymph node.
