  • Patent number: 6381145
Abstract: A computer enclosure includes a chassis (60) and a hood (10) attached to the chassis. The chassis includes a rear panel (90) defining a slot (91) and a pair of side flanges (71). Each side flange defines a number of cutouts (74) and a number of slits (75) exposed to the cutouts, respectively. The hood has a pair of side walls (30) and a J-shaped catch (40) extending from a rear flange (32) between the side walls. The catch of the hood is received in the slot of the chassis, allowing the hood to be rotatable with respect to the chassis between an open position and a closed position while being selectively removable from the chassis when at the open position. The J-shaped catch engages with the slot for supporting the hood at the open position. Each side wall has a number of latches (31) for being received in the cutouts and moved into the slits of the chassis thereby securely fixing the hood to the chassis when the hood is at the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6372366
Abstract: In an electroluminescent element having at least two light-emitting parts, the electric interconnection is ensured in the part in which the light-emitting parts are connected, and the electric short-circuiting in that part is prevented. In the electroluminescent element comprising a light-emitting part A and a light-emitting part B, a flexible, insulating resin layer 5 is provided in the connecting part C in which the two parts A and B are connected. In this, the transparent electrode 2 and the back electrode 6 in the connecting part C are prevented from being cracked owing to the layer 5 existing in the part C. As the means for compensating the electric interconnection between the light-emitting parts in the device, provided are a transparent electrode leading part 9 and a back electrode leading part 10 both of resin binder-containing ink layers.

  • Patent number: 6350069
Abstract: To prevent a front end of a slit forming sector of one of an open shutter sector group and a close shutter sector group from colliding with an upper edge portion of a partition opening of a partition plate and preventing leakage of light, a partition plate is provided with a partition plate opening and a projection is formed on the partition plate for preventing sector collision. The projection is formed slightly lower than the level of the upper edge portion of the partition plate opening so that immediately before a slit forming sector of the close shutter sector group comes into contact with the upper edge portion of the partition plate opening, a front end of the slit forming sector rides over the projection and is displaced from the upper edge portion of the partition plate opening.

  • Patent number: 6325590
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for determining the relative angular orientation between an excavator bucket and the dipper stick of an excavator. The excavator bucket is mounted on a bucket linkage that is pivotally secured to the end of the dipper stick. A hydraulic actuator has a hydraulic cylinder pivotally connected to the dipper stick, and a piston rod pivotally connected to the bucket linkage. Extension or contraction of the hydraulic actuator causes the excavator bucket to be pivoted by the bucket linkage with respect to the dipper stick. A cable extension linear position transducer having a transducer casing, a sheath extending from the casing to a pulley system, and an extensible belt cable extending from the sheath through the pulley system to an end of the piston rod, provides an electrical output related to the extension of the belt cable from the sheath. A transducer mounting secures the casing of the cable extension linear position transducer in fixed relationship to the hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6304331
Abstract: A disadvantage can be solved, in which an amount of light passing through a shutter aperture varies depending upon different reflection coefficients of objects. When a switch is set ON, a control circuit detects a reflection coefficient of a subject object on the basis of an output from a PSD. Concretely, the reflection coefficient of the subject object is detected on the basis of a correlation between a distance up to the subject object, which is found by making use of outputs from terminals of the PSD, and magnitudes of outputs from the terminals. Subsequently, an FM control value is found by calculation on the basis of the distance up to the subject object and the reflection coefficient of the subject object. A diaphragm assumes the FM control value as the shutter aperture increases. A stroboscope device is controlled by a stroboscope drive circuit to project light, and light reflected by the subject object is made to be incident on a photosensitive section through the shutter aperture for photographing.

  • Patent number: 6285260
Abstract: A phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit having a shortened locking time. A first counter divides down the output from a reference signal source and produces output signal FR. A second counter divides down the output from a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) circuit and produces a second output signal FV. When the phase of the second output signal FV is lagging the phase of the first output signal FR, a control circuit resets the first counter. When the phase of the second output signal is leading the phase of the first output signal, the control circuit resets the second counter. As a result, the starting points of counting operations performed by the first and second counters are synchronized. This brings the phase difference detected by the phase comparator circuit into coincidence with the actual phase difference between the first and second output signals FR, FV. Thus, the phase difference is appropriately fed as a control voltage back to the VCO circuit thereby shortening the locking time.

  • Patent number: 6271819
Abstract: A matrix of display elements is driven on a time sharing basis to switch between two optically distinct states in response to a pulse train applied to the selected display elements. The pulse train includes display control pulses having a duration and electric field effective to set the display elements to the desired optically distinct state, and does not allow, after the application of the display control pulse, existence of a pulse which would change the optical state, and also includes a plurality of pulses having the same pulse shapes in different polarities. AC pulses which hold the optical state are applied to the display elements after the application of the display control pulse. The AC pulses are obtained by superposing high frequency AC pulses to the AC pulses having an amplitude lower than the display control pulse.

  • Patent number: 6253030
Abstract: A shutter for a camera has a film advance mechanism for advancing film past a shutter opening and a stroboscope for emitting light. The shutter has a base plate having the shutter opening, opening sectors for undergoing opening movement in an operational state to open the shutter opening during a shutter release operation, and closing sectors for undergoing closing movement in an operational state to close the shutter opening during the shutter release operation. A first detecting device detects the operational state of the opening sectors and outputs a signal to the stroboscope to emit light. A second detecting device detects the operational state of the closing sectors and outputs a signal for winding up the film. A non-opened state of the shutter opening is detected after the shutter release operation when the second detecting device detects the operational state of the closing sectors before the first detecting device detects the operational state of the opening sectors.
