Abstract: According to the method and system for display screen-aided generation of an electronic document from rastered image data, a group of image data per page and comprising multiple pages is stored. Symbols for associated pages of the group per associated page are displayed in an organized structure in the first screen region. Per page or per region, the image data is separately selected for full display in a second screen display region so that the associated page is accessible for additional processing steps with respect to at least one of the elements selected from the group consisting of a pixel processing and a page processing. Upon touching a symbol of the group with a selection member, a content of the associated page of the group is displayed in an automatically opening, separate display region.

Abstract: In a method or system for regulation of optical density in an electrographic printing method, a toner layer thickness of a toner image developed with a developer station is scanned with a sensor. The resulting toner layer thickness signal is used for regulation of inking in the developer station. A humidity is measured with a moisture sensor and the resulting humidity signal is used for at least one of compensation of moisture-dependent deviations of the toner layer thickness signal and regulation of the inking in the developer station.
Abstract: A method is provided for error handling in a printer or copier. A plurality of monitoring units detect error states of the printer or copier. A detected error states are transmitted to a controller. A plurality of successively transmitted error states are stored in a storage. The stored error states are evaluated by the controller. The stored error states are compared with predetermined error patterns and at least one error type is determined. Further steps are executed by the controller dependent on the error type.

Abstract: In a method or system for driving a load element, a drive motor is provided on a drive shaft of the load element that establishes a drive rotation speed of the load element. A rotation torque sensor on the drive shaft emits a load torque signal proportional to a rotation torque. Abstract: In a fixer unit system and method to detect a fire in a fixer unit of an electrographic image generation device, at least one portion of a fixer region of the fixing unit is monitored with a photoelectric sensor arranged adjacent to a substrate material having a toner image to be fixed, at least one portion of radiation generated by at least one heat radiator of the fixer unit is not detected by the photoelectric sensor by not passing said at least one portion of the radiation generated by the at least one heat radiator through to the photoelectric sensor by use of an optical filter associated with the photoelectric sensor. An error signal is output when a fire in the fixer region is detected with the photoelectric sensor.

Abstract: In a developer station for a printer or copier, a rotating developer roller is provided having a mixture of toner particles and ferromagnetic carrier particles accumulated on a surface of the developer roller as a layer, and a transfer zone at which the toner particles are transferred away from the developer roller. A smoothing device is provided with a smoothing element arranged before the transfer zone, the smoothing element being charged with a mechanical tension in a rest state of the developer roller and designed such that it exerts a force on and over an entire width of the layer formed by the mixture of the toner particles and the carrier particles present on the developer roller and smoothes the layer before the transfer of the toner particles. Within the developer roller at least one magnet is provided. The smoothing element comprises a magnetizable material attracted toward said at least one magnet to create said mechanical tension.

A charge shifting device is provided along with a recharging device. At least one of the charge shifting device and the recharging device has a corotron. With the charge shifting device, the charge of the first toner image is shifted to a second polarity opposite to the first polarity and with the recharging device the second toner image with the first polarity is recharged. The recording medium is passed between the first and the second transfer belts.

Abstract: In a method or system for scanning a source image, the source image is scanned with a sensor that comprises multiple line arrays designed to detect a specific color such that a color separation of the source image to be scanned is generated by each line array. The color separations represent the source image in the form of pixels. The pixels of the different separations of the source image are at least partially offset relative to one another. The pixels of the color separations are separately filtered with multiple FIR sub-filters. The filtered pixels of the source image of the multiple color separations are summed into pixels of a target image.
