Abstract: An autonomous vehicle can comprise winter servicing equipment, such as a snowplow, salt spreader, etc. A controller can be supported by the vehicle and can be operatively coupled thereto. The controller can be configured to control the vehicle to autonomously move through an area along a planned route to effect servicing (e.g., snow removal or remediation) of the area. For example, the controller can be configured to discretize the area into a plurality of cells and to determine a quantity of snow in each cell. The route through the area can be planned by the controller based at least in part on simulated movements of the snow quantities in the cells.

Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for automatically assigning weights to vertices of a skin or mesh that control how said vertices in the 3D model move under the influence of skeletal rotation and translation. A computing device can receive a first model weightings matrix. Next, the computing device can include adjusting the number of rows in the first model weightings matrix to generate an adjusted model weightings matrix with a number of rows that matches an input number of rows for a machine-learning model, each row in the adjusted model weightings matrix representing a vertex of a mesh applied to a three-dimensional model. Then, the computing device can apply the machine learning model to the adjusted model weightings matrix, to generate an output polygonal mesh model weightings matrix.

Abstract: A waveform capture device (WCD) is a flexible measurement system capable of recording complex digital signals on trillionth-of-a-second (ps) time scales. The WCD may be implemented via modular code on an off-the-shelf field-programmable gate-array (FPGA), and incorporates both time-to-digital converter (TDC) and digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) functionality. The device captures a waveform by taking snapshots of a signal as it propagates down an ultra-fast transmission line known as a carry chain (CC). It may be calibrated via a dynamic phase-shifting (DPS) method that requires substantially less data and resources than conventional techniques.
