Abstract: Machines and methods are for performing fully-automated biological evaluation and chemical analysis. A pretreatment module is used in treatments of enriching, concentrating and purifying a sample to be analyzed. A component separation module is used for carrying out separation of multiple compounds in mother liquor to be analyzed. A monitoring and identifying module is for monitoring and collecting chromatographic signals of the separated liquid effluent in real time, as well as quantitative detection of suspicious compounds. A component collection module is used in operations of collecting, transferring and dissolving, redissolving, and pipetting the separated liquid effluent. A biological evaluation module is for cell culture and detection of cytotoxic effect and toxic targets. A data processing and automated control module is for acquisition, arrangement and analysis of the integrated data.

Abstract: The accuracy charged-particle beam trajectories used for radiation therapy in patients is improved by providing feedback on the beam location within a patient's body or a quality assurance phantom. Particle beams impinge on a patient or phantom in an arrangement designed to deliver radiation dose to a tumor, while avoiding as much normal tissue as can be achieved. By placing fiducial markers in the tumor or phantom that contain specific atomic constituents, a detection signal consisting of atomic fluorescence is produced by the particle beam. An algorithm can combine the detected fluorescence signal with the known location of the fiducial markers to determine the location of the particle beam in the patient or phantom.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for establishing an active distribution network planning model considering location and capacity determination of an electric vehicle charging station. Abstract: Disclosed is a method for reducing carbon deposits on a catalyst in recycling HFC-23. The recycling is realized by means of a fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction with HFC-23 and a halogenated hydrocarbon. The catalyst for the fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction comprises a main body catalyst and a precious metal. The precious metal is selected from at least one of Pt, Pd, Ru, Au or Rh, and has an addition amount of 0.01-2 wt %. During the fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction, hydrogen gas is introduced. The invention has advantages of good catalyst stability, long life, etc.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a digital comparator coupled to a pair of pull-up resistors and a pair of pull-down resistors whereby both pairs of resistors are coupled to an output terminal of a low dropout (LDO) regulator. In particular, the digital comparator comprises an edge detector module, a consecutive two-edge detector module and a consecutive three-edge detector module whereby the edge detector module is configured to receive two clock signals as inputs and after being processed by these three modules, to pull-up or pull-down the resistors at the output terminal of the LDO regulator based on the rising and falling edges of the received clock signals.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a bioreactor system that allows perfusive flow through a porous support medium enabling 3D growth of biological samples. In some embodiments, the system comprises a sample well filled with a three-dimensional (3D) cell growth medium. The system can further comprises a liquid medium reservoir fluidly connected to the sample well by a first filter material. The system can further comprises a medium collection chamber fluidly connected to the sample well by a second filter material. The system can further comprise an absorbant material that creates an osmotic pressure gradient to produce perfusive flow. In some embodiments, osmotic pressure draws fluid from the liquid medium reservoir, through the first filter material, into the sample well where it permeates the three-dimensional cell growth medium, through the second filter material, and finally into the medium collection chamber.

Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass a variety of polymers derived from polycyclic olefin monomers, such as hydrocarbon functionalized norbornenes. The polymers so formed function as ionomers and are suitable as anion exchange membrane for fabricating a variety of electrochemical devices, among others. More specifically, the ionomeric polymers used herein are derived from a variety of quaternized amino functionalized norbornene monomers and are lightly crosslinked (less than ten mol %). The membranes made therefrom exhibit very high ionic conductivity of up to 198 mS/cm at 80° C. This invention also relates to using an anion conducting solid polymer electrolyte as the ion conducting medium between the two electrodes and the ion conducting medium within the electrodes acting as the ionic conduit between electroactive material and electrolyte. The electrochemical devices made in accordance of this invention are useful as fuel cells, gas separators, and the like.

Abstract: Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) thin films having a high ?-phase purity and low defect density and methods for making the aluminum oxide thin films are provided. Also provided are epitaxial heterostructures that incorporate the aluminum oxide thin films as growth substrates and methods of forming the heterostructures. The Al2O3 films are pure, or nearly pure, ?-Al2O3. As such, the films contain no, or only a very low concentration of, other Al2O3 polymorph phases. In particular, the Al2O3 films contain no, or only a very low concentration of, the ?-Al2O3 polymorph phase.
