    Abstract: A microthruster for controlling small spacecraft and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. Embodiments of the microthruster include one or more nozzle throats with cross sectional areas of at most 20 ?m2, and some with 6 ?m2. Some embodiments include heaters that heat water in one or more reservoirs to increase pressure in the reservoirs and eject the water from the one or more nozzle throats. Some embodiments are manufactured by etching channels into one or more layers of material, and still further embodiments are manufactured by forming the nozzle throats and/or the reservoirs between two layers of material. Some microthruster embodiments are flat in shape with the nozzle throats ejecting water out the thin sides of the microthruster. Still further embodiments are formed by etching channels into one layer of material, printing a heater onto another layer of material, and bonding the two layers together.

    Abstract: A transmission system avoids activation of a sailing functionality in a vehicle. The transmission system is configured for automatic gear-shifting in an automatic mode and manual gear-shifting by a user in a manual mode. The transmission system includes a user input device configured for manually changing the operational mode between the automatic and manual modes. The transmission system includes a transmission control unit for determining a recommended gear in the automatic and manual modes. In the manual mode, an operating gear of the transmission system is detected by the transmission control unit. A change of the operational mode from manual to automatic by means of the user input device is detected, and if the detected operating gear in the manual mode when changing to automatic mode is lower than the recommended gear, the sailing functionality in the automatic mode is deactivated.

Notably, the “non-image data” is distinct from “image data” in that the image data defines display characteristics of an image (e.g., display properties of a pixel) while the non-image data is unrestricted and can describe any data, even data different than display characteristics. An image is accessed, where the image includes at least one pixel that is associated with at least one color channel. Non-image data is encoded into the color channel. An index, which maps where the non-image data has been encoded in the color channel of the pixel, is generated or modified. As a result of encoding the non-image data into the color channel, an enhanced image is generated.

At least one effector is controlled to execute the at least one effector trajectory based on the generated control signal.
