  • Patent number: 11859838
Abstract: HVAC load can be shifted to change indoor temperature. A time series change in HVAC load data is used as input modified scenario values that represent an HVAC load shape. The HVAC load shape is selected to meet desired energy savings goals, such as reducing or flattening peak energy consumption load to reduce demand charges, moving HVAC consumption to take advantage of lower utility rates, or moving HVAC consumption to match PV production. Time series change in indoor temperature data can be calculated using only inputs of time series change in the time series HVAC load data combined with thermal mass, thermal conductivity, and HVAC efficiency. The approach is applicable for both winter and summer and can be applied when the building has an on-site renewable power system.

  • Patent number: 11862868
Abstract: The disclosure provides a multi-feed antenna including a first conductor layer, a second conductor layer, four supporting conductor structures and four feeding conductor lines. The second conductor layer has a first center position and is spaced apart from the first conductor layer at a first interval. The four electrically connected sections respectively extend from different side edges of the second conductor layer toward the first center position, so that the second conductor layer forms four mutually connected radiating conductor plates. The four feeding conductor lines are all located between the first conductor layer and the second conductor layer. The four feeding conductor lines and the four supporting conductor structures form an interleaved annular arrangement. The four feeding conductor lines excite the second conductor layer to generate at least four resonant modes. The at least four resonant modes cover at least one identical first communication band.

Abstract: A quantum computing system, method and computer readable storage medium involve tuning a whispering-gallery mode optical resonator to support a resonance frequency associated with a transition frequency of an atom. Operation of a laser is controlled to cause the atom to be trapped adjacent the optical resonator and within the evanescent field portion. Based on an atom presence signal from an optical atom presence detector, an indication is provided that the atom is trapped adjacent the optical resonator. A frequency of a cooling laser is controlled to cool the atom, and the optical resonator is configured to define a closed loop-like mode including an evanescent field portion. The trapping laser is configured to cause the atom to be trapped adjacent the whispering-gallery mode resonator, and the cooling laser is configured to manipulate a state of the atom to thereby cool the atom.
