  • Publication number: 20040060352
Abstract: A method for the evaluation of signals of a sensor (3, 4), in particular of a microwave sensor, is proposed for the detection of the thickness, mass, density and/or moisture of at least one fiber sliver (2) moving relative to the sensor (3, 4) on drafting equipment (1), whereby a high-frequency unit (13) assigned to the sensor (3, 4) produces a number of first digital signals in digital form on the current state of the (at least one) fiber sliver (2). The method according to the invention is characterized in that a second digital signal, representing the current sliver thickness or the sliver mass of the (at least one) fiber sliver (2) and which is then used to control the drafting equipment (1) and/or to judge the fiber sliver quality, is formed according to an algorithm from the first digital signals made available. In addition a suitable device for the evaluation of the signals of a sensor (3, 4) is proposed.

  • Patent number: 6666012
Abstract: During the pneumatic holding of a yarn spun from fibers, the intensity of the air stream holding the yarn is changed to adapt to the prevailing working conditions. Such a change in intensity of this air stream can take place here in adaptation to different work phases and/or to the character of the held yarn. In order to reduce the intensity of the air stream, a secondary air stream may be fed to it at a point which is not reached by the yarn held by the air stream, or the cross-section of a pneumatic device conveying the air stream is changed. The pneumatic device is associated with an air control device which influences the intensity of the air stream and is connected to a control device which can be adjusted or programmed to take various working conditions into account. By means of the air control device an opening can be controlled through which the line can be connected to the atmosphere surrounding it.

  • Patent number: 6662542
Abstract: In open-end spinning and in coordination with predetermined operating phases, a yarn suction pipe by means of which a yarn extending from a bobbin is to be received temporarily is brought successively into different operating planes. The yarn suction pipe is imparted a defined operational movement as a function of the operating planes occupied and in coordination with the current operating phase. The operating positions of the yarn suction pipe that can be moved into at least two operating planes are defined in such a manner that when the yarn suction pipe is in its operating position in a first operating plane, a yarn extending from the bobbin pressing on a winding roller to the yarn suction pipe crosses the traversing range of the yarn traversing guide. However, the yarn is outside the traversing range of this yarn traversing guide when the yarn suction pipe assumes its operating position in an additional operating plane.

  • Patent number: 6588194
Abstract: A process for the level adjustment of the can plate of a sliver can is proposed which is in a filling position at the output of a textile machine to be filled with fiber sliver F. The can plate is moved before the start of the filling process by a first moving device from a lower can plate position into a higher can plate position and is moved into the lower can plate position during the filling of the sliver can. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the can plate is moved before the start or during the starting phase of the filling process by a second moving device from the higher can plate position into an upper filling position after the sliver can enters a position to accept sliver from the textile machine. Furthermore, a suitable apparatus to perform the process is presented.

  • Patent number: 6574526
Abstract: A procedure is provided for controlling individual components of a work station in a textile machine. The textile machine includes a plurality of the work stations with each work station having individual control devices. Components of the work stations are connected to a bus system, and the bus system is connected to a central control apparatus. A default value identifying address is set for the components. The central control apparatus recognizes that the components have been installed at the work stations and a recognition phase is initialized wherein the components are interrogated by the central control apparatus. The default address is converted to a component specific address for each of the components and the same type of components have different specific addresses. Operation of the components is controlled through the central control apparatus that communicates with selected components through their respective control device in accordance with their respective component specific address.

  • Patent number: 6553750
Abstract: A spinning rotor of an open-end spinning device is slowed down for piecing to a low rotational piecing speed and is then accelerated to the operating speed. For this purpose, the spinning rotor or an element in driving connection with it is presented a drive transmission device from a service unit by means of which the spinning rotor can be switched from normal production speed to a reduced piecing speed and back. In this process, the drive transmission device can be driven either by a driving apparatus installed on the service unit or by a drive belt extending within spinning machine. The driving apparatus mounted on the service unit is connected to a control device for the control of the evolution of the rotational speed of the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor is driven according to a rotational speed course controlled by means of a program applied by the control device during the time when its rotational speed deviates from its operating speed.
