  • Patent number: 5953792
Abstract: A guide apparatus (1) for the fiber band of a textile machine which processes fibers, is situated between a pair of delivery rolls and a pair of calender rolls. The guide apparatus (1) exhibits a nozzle assembly (2, 3) with respective guide passage axes (6, 15) which form a guide path, and which nozzle sections (2, 3) are pivotally connected at their facing contacting surfaces (9, 11). The guide passage axes (6, 15) of the nozzle sections (2, 3) are angularly offset to one another, whereby at least one nozzle section (2) is pivotable from a start-up position into an operating position about a designed pivoting axis at right angles to the guide passage axes (6, 15). In the connective position, the contacting surfaces of the nozzle sections (2, 3) lie form fit and sealingly tight against one another, and in the operational position the nozzle sections (2, 3) form at least an aperture (S), preferably in the area of the contact surfaces (9, 11).

  • Patent number: 5940925
Abstract: The invention concerns a cleaning lip for a rotating roll of a textile machine in a rolling mill (1) for processing fibrous materials wherein the cleaning lip (9) is comprised of a combined carrying device and a lip, the length (1) of the lip (11, 23) being limited by a wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1), and the lip is composed of plastic. On the lip (11, 23) and in proximity to the carrying device, a groove (12, 24) is placed which runs parallel to said wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) of the lip. Alternatively, the cleaning lip can be installed for the clearing of wrapping, in that, upon the roll (14) reversing its direction from an original direction, then the wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) of the lip (11, 23) swings itself out of its original roll surface contact position. Upon a subsequent change of roll rotation back to the original direction, the wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) also swings itself back to its original wiping contact position.

  • Patent number: 5927061
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process to piece a yarn (2) to an open-end spinning device (1), in which a plurality of handling devices (4) on a service unit (3) traveling alongside a plurality of identical open-end spinning devices (1) execute different work motions and in which a yarn end is taken over by a presentation device (31) and is conveyed to the open-end spinning device (1), and is then returned into same for piecing. In this process all the handling devices (4) go through a joint motion phase and if necessary through an individual motion phase. To carry out this process the handling devices (4) are mounted on a common bearing device (5) which can be moved back and forth between at least two work positions (I, II) by means of a drive arrangement (50) controlled by the control device (6).

  • Patent number: 5916119
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the control of an air stream in an open-end spinning device (6). The open-end spinning device (6) is equipped with an air channel (8) opening into the second housing compartment (600) of the open-end spinning device (6), which is connected via a valve (82) to a connection opening (83). An air channel (95) with a presentation end (950) located on a traveling service carriage (9) can be presented to this connection opening (83). This presentation end (950) is connected by means of a movable intermediate segment (951) to the air channel (95) and is capable of movement relative to same so that when the connection opening (83) is swiveled, it follows this movement without changing its position relative to the connection opening (83).

  • Patent number: 5913806
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the conveying of fibers from an opener roller (31) installed in a fixed opener roller housing (30) to the collection surface (43) of a spinning rotor (4) of an open-end spinning device (1). It is provided with a rotor lid mounted on a swivel pin which receives a fiber feeding channel (6). The fiber feeding channel (6) can be brought into contact with a first contact surface (62) surrounding its inlet opening (60) against a second contact surface (35) located on the opener roller housing. It extends until directly in front of the collection surface of the spinning rotor (4). A lid extension extends through an opening in the spinning rotor (4) into the spinning rotor. In the lid extension the fiber feeding channel (6) lets out into the spinning rotor (4). The contact surfaces are essentially tangential to the circumferential surface of the opener roller and parallel to the opening of the spinning rotor or are inclined towards the opening of the spinning rotor.

  • Patent number: 5906332
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the transfer of a thread (1) carried in a low pressure air stream being delivered to a rotating spool (7) with which a capture apparatus (4) runs in synchronism for the pick-up of the thread (1) which is set before it by a thread dispensing unit for this purpose. This thread dispensing unit exhibits two thread guides (31, 30) which hold the thread (1) at right angles to the travel path of the capture apparatus (4). Respectively, the first thread guide (31) forms a hold-back element which acts to restrain the thread (1) during the formation of a reserve winding in the spool border and to release the thread (1) for the formation of the normal winding. This first thread guide (31) is governed by a controllable drive (33), with the help of which, the open side of a thread guide groove (312) of this first thread guide (31) is pivotable out of a thread restraining position (S.sub.1) into a thread release position (S.sub.2).

  • Patent number: 5901546
Abstract: With channels for the conveying of fibers, fiber slivers or yarns on spinning machines, problems are encountered in their manufacture. The channels must be made with a certain inside contour, where at the same time the quality of the surface inside the channel must be very good. The high surface quality is required in order to ensure trouble-free conveying. A channel is therefore proposed which is made as a tubular component, consisting of a metallic material and which has been produced by forming its interior by a medium under pressure. It is proposed for an open-end rotor spinning device to form the conveying channel separately from the other components of the lid of the rotor housing and to insert the channel into the lid. It is proposed in that case to use a channel according to the design shown above.

  • Patent number: 5899057
Abstract: For an opener roller for an open-end spinning device provided with a basic body by which it is connected to a supported shaft for rotatable support, it is proposed that the clothing be attached to the basic body via a clothing holder, whereby fasteners are used. For the fixed allocation of the clothing holder to the basic body it is provided that the attachment of the clothing holder by means of the fasteners be effected from the side of the opener roller which is facing the shaft bearing. The face of the opener roller away from the shaft covers the shaft, so that this face of the opener roller is also an even surface.

  • Patent number: 5829101
Abstract: A fleece guidance system is provided to convey a fiber fleece to the nip of a pair of calendar rollers. The system includes a funnel having a fiber sliver channel defined therethrough which tapers towards an opening adjacent the nip of the calendar rollers. The channel has a longitudinal axis therethrough which is angled relative to a plane through the axes of rotation of the calendar rollers. Oppositely facing guiding segments are configured on the funnel on opposite sides of the opening. The segments have a forward edge which extends into the nip and define lateral guiding surfaces for the fiber sliver exiting from the opening. A plane through the forward edge of the guiding segments and the opening is essentially perpendicular to a plane through the axis of rotation of the calendar rollers.

  • Patent number: 5799374
Abstract: A spinning machine for the doubling or stretching of fiber bands with a rolling section having lower rolls which are secured in journal blocks, and wherein the upper rolls may be also secured on said journal blocks with pressure means for the loading of said upper rolls, it is proposed that the pivoting axis of the pressure arm for the placement of the pressure means to the upper rolls be arranged in such a way that, when observed in the running direction of the fiber band, said axis lies behind the rolling section. Advantageously, what is achieved thereby, is that the spinning machine can be maintained in a considerably simpler and quicker manner. Following the upward pivoting of the pressure arm, the entire area of the rolling section becomes freely accessible. The pivoting geometry of the pressure arm can be so varied, that the upper rolls can be easily restored into the guides on the journal blocks of the lower rolls.
