  • Patent number: 6226971
Abstract: In regard to maintenance services at work station, which is located within the maintenance area of a programmable maintenance device along a plurality of similar work stations, attempts of the same maintenance, which have failed at various work stations have been counted. After reaching a specified number of similar failed maintenance procedures, at various work stations (10, 10a, 10b, 10c) a preset function, for instance an alarm, is released. On the other hand, where successful maintenance procedures have been executed, the numbering of the failed attempts reverts to the zero point.

  • Patent number: 6220761
Abstract: For a bearing arrangement of an open-end spin rotor, which is rotatably set in the “V” between circumferential rims of support disks, one or more of the support disks (14), which bear the open-end spin rotor, has a circumferential cleaning groove (3). The cleaning groove (3) can be a self closing, endless groove, which runs over the contact surface of the support disk (14), wherein it generally does not run parallel to the edges of the support disk (14). Such a meandering groove formulation of the support disk circumference assures that no deposits of impurities can accumulate on the rotor shaft.

  • Patent number: 6219886
Abstract: A stretched fiber band is deposited in a can, located in the filling station of a can exchanger of a draw frame, by means of a turntable. The rotational axis of the turntable exhibits an equal to or less than distance from the rotational axis of the can exchanger than the distance from the center point of the can found in the filling station to the rotational axis of the exchanger. Upon the substitution of the filled can by an empty can held in a ready-state position, the operation of the can exchanger on the rotation of the turntable is designed in such a manner, that the fiber band is deposited into the full can exiting the filling station, until this can leaves the zone of the turntable. The fiber band is then deposited into the empty can which has been brought into the filling station II, as soon as this empty can reaches the zone of the turntable.

  • Patent number: 6182425
Abstract: Upon filling cans with fiber band, the movable bottom of the cans, as the filling process proceeds, moves downwardly from an initial upper to a lower final position. As this happens, between two elements, one inside, one outside the circumferential shell of the can, a force field is built up in such a way that the element inside the can supports the can bottom and because of the force field, this bottom is held at the same elevation as the element outside of the can. Further, the desired operating height of the can bottom can be correspondingly held. For the lowering of the can bottom, one of the two elements between which the force field exists, is moved relative to the other in the direction of the lower final positioning of the can bottom and the remaining element follows after, because of said force field, until both elements again stand across from one another at the same height.

  • Patent number: 6161257
Abstract: A given plurality of empty round (cylindrical) cans are brought by a can carrier into an empty can magazine of a textile machine which produces a band output. These cans are taken from the can carrier, one after another, to be filled at a filling station from whence filled cans are sequentially moved to a just emptied can carrier in a full can magazine. This can carrier, after the receipt of a given plurality of filled cans, are transported out of the full can magazine. Subsequently, the can carrier, which, in the intervening time, has been emptied and is now to be found in the empty can magazine, is transported by means of an elevated crossover into the full can magazine, which has become free. For the well-timed release of a can carrier loaded with empty cans as well as the transporting of a can carrier from the filling operation loaded with filled cans, there is a Hold Station serving as a buffer zone for an empty can with its can carrier.

  • Patent number: 6142351
Abstract: The invention concerns a process and an apparatus for the storage of a textile material between operating components of spinning mill machines, wherein a first driving means drives an operating component which delivers the material into a storage facility and a second driving means drives another operating component which removes the material from the storage facility. One of the operating components is a high-dynamically reacting component, and the other operating component is a low-dynamically reacting component. The purpose of the invention is to minimize the size of the storage facility and to simultaneously reduce the amount of stored material. This is accomplished in that the quantity of delivered and removed material at any given time is continually measured and a running difference between the two quantities is determined.

  • Patent number: 6081972
Abstract: The invention concerns a textile machine operating on fiber band with a feeding device for the fiber band and a guide element for the fiber band and further provided with a band monitor for the discovery of band breakage. The band monitor (BW, BW1, BW2, BW3) is placed always in the area of the guide element, in particular one band guide (BF) and another band guide element (FE, FE1, FE2, FE3) in the area of the band monitor (BW, BW1, BW2, BW3). The running time behavior of the fiber band (FB) is directly improved by the guide element (FE, FE1, FE2, FE3), that is, the vibrations of the fiber band (FB) are damped. This will avoid a situation wherein false alarm signals are given because of an originally vibrating fiber band at the band monitor.

  • Patent number: 6006511
Abstract: For a separating roll, which finds application on an open end spinning machine, the proposal is made that a spiral trim wire be preformed and precoated before the trim wire is installed upon the circumference of the roll. In this way, separating rolls of the most varying materials may be employed since the rolls themselves need not undergo the coating process. Further, the trim wire may be preformed into a spiral before fitting on the separating roll. Moreover, a process for the production of the trim wire is presented. During the process of coating, the preformed spiral windings are held at an axial distance from one another.
