  • Publication number: 20110218801
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for outputting a speech signal. Speech signal frames are received and are used in a predetermined sequence in order to produce a speech signal to be output. If one speech signal frame to be received is not received, then a substitute speech signal frame is used in its place, which is produced as a function of a previously received speech signal frame. According to the invention, in the situation in which the previously received speech signal frame has a voiceless speech signal, the substitute speech signal frame is produced by means of a noise signal.

  • Patent number: 8014933
Abstract: The invention deals with a method to determine the fuel composition of a fuel mixture from a first fuel and a second fuel for the operation of an internal combustion engine, wherein the first and the second fuel have different octane numbers and wherein the internal combustion engine has at least one knock sensor and a closed-loop knock control. Provision is made according to the invention for the composition of the fuel mixture to be determined by means of an output signal of the knock sensor. Provision is made in many cases for the knock sensor to already be in the internal combustion engine, so that it does not present any additional expenditure of money or effort. Because the octane number of the fuel mixture is determined by the mixing ratio of the fuels involved, which have different octane numbers, in retrospect the composition of the fuel mixture can be suggested from the signal of the knock sensor under suitable operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 8012618
Abstract: Known rechargeable batteries contain a cell that is received in a cell cup. For monitoring the temperature of the rechargeable batteries, PTC elements are used, but they increase the amount of space needed and can be accommodated in a battery pack only with difficulty. For the sake of simple accommodation, a rechargeable battery has a cell, which is received in a cell cup. According to the invention, for monitoring the temperature of the cell, a temperature-dependent element, in particular a PTC element, is provided that at least partially surrounds the cell cup. The invention is intended in particular for battery packs in which temperature monitoring is required.
