Abstract: The present invention relates to a soluble shell polymer composition comprising an alkali soluble emulsion polymer shell and an alkali insoluble emulsion polymer core, which composition is stabilized by a surfactant of the formula R—(OCH2CH2)2-6OSO3?M+, where R is a linear, branched, or cyclic C8-C24 alkyl or C12-C18 aralkyl group and M+ is a counterion. The invention further relates to a method of preparing the composition and its use as a binder in coatings formulations. Formulations prepared with the soluble shell polymer composition have excellent freeze-thaw profiles and hiding.

Abstract: Grooves are formed on the front surfaces of first and second semiconductor wafers each including an aggregate of a plurality of semiconductor chips. The grooves each extend on a dicing line set between the semiconductor chips and to have a larger width than the dicing line. Thereafter the first and second semiconductor wafers are arranged so that the front surfaces thereof are opposed to each other, and the space between the first semiconductor wafer and the second semiconductor wafer is sealed with underfill. Thereafter the rear surfaces of the first and second semiconductor wafers are polished until at least the grooves are exposed, and a structure including the first and second semiconductor wafers and the underfill is cut on the dicing line.

The calculation unit determines whether the first conductor has approached the first electrodes and second electrodes using the first map values.

Abstract: A semiconductor laser device generates blue-violet light with an emission wavelength of 400 to 410 nm. The device includes an n-type group III nitride semiconductor layer, an active layer laminated on the n-type semiconductor layer and having an InGaN quantum well layer, a p-type group III nitride semiconductor layer laminated on the active layer, and a transparent electrode contacting the p-type semiconductor layer and serving as a clad. The n-type semiconductor layer includes an n-type clad layer and an n-type guide layer disposed between the clad layer and the active layer. The guide layer includes a superlattice layer in which an InGaN layer and an AlxGa1-xN layer (0?x<1) are laminated periodically, the superlattice layer contacting the active layer and having an average refractive index of 2.6 or lower. The In composition of the InGaN layer is lower than that of the InGaN quantum well layer.
Abstract: The present invention provides thermosetting aqueous binder compositions of (i) one or more diprimary diamine, e.g. lysine, or poly(primary amine), e.g. polyethylenimine and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine, and (ii) one or more 5-carbon reducing sugar, such as xylose. The binders are at least substantially formaldehyde free and cure rapidly at temperatures sufficiently low and with sufficiently little swelling to enable one to provide wood or woody material containing articles, such as particle board, oriented strand board and bamboo boards or articles.

Abstract: The present invention is a process for preparing a multistage polymer by contacting under emulsion polymerization conditions an acrylic monomer, a sulfur acid monomer, and a phosphorous acid monomer as described herein. The present invention is also a composition comprising a nonionic surfactant and a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles comprising structural units of butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, a sodium vinylbenzenesulfonate, and phosphoethyl methacrylate; wherein the polymer particles have a Tg of less than 10° C. The composition of the present invention is useful as a binder for coatings compositions.

Abstract: A high side switch circuit includes a switch electrically connected between input and output terminals, a gate control unit, and an over-current sensor unit. The over-current sensor unit includes a resistive element and a comparator. The comparator senses an over-current if a voltage of the resistive element exceeds a threshold voltage. The comparator is adjusted in advance such that the detected voltage at the time of over-current exceeds the threshold voltage. Even if accuracy of resistance value of the resistive element is not high, accuracy of detecting over-current can be improved by adjusting the comparator.

A zero-crossing detection comparator 10 compares a pair of Hall signals H+ and H? having reverse phases and representing a rotor position of a fan motor 6, and generates a level-shifted zero-crossing detection signal S1 at each zero-crossing timing when the Hall signals cross each other. A control circuit 20 receives the zero-crossing detection signal S1, switches a driving phase at each zero-crossing timing to rotationally drive the motor, and regeneratively controls the motor during a duration from a first time point ahead of each zero-crossing timing by a first time width ?1 to a second time point behind each zero-crossing timing by a second time width ?2 shorter than the first time width ?1.
