Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for controlling, in a multi-cylinder four-stroke internal combustion engine, the spark ignition in at least two cylinders, the pistons of which simultaneously assume a top dead center position. The method and system achieve a more reliable start with low supply voltage. For this purpose, the charging and discharging of an ignition capacitor is controlled by a control unit in such a way that, when the pistons in a pair of cylinders pass through the same crankshaft angle range close to the top dead center position, ignition is generated in first one and then the other of the pair of cylinders. Between the times for generating the ignition, the ignition capacitor is charged as a function of supply voltage so that a full charge is utilized for generating the ignition sparks in the cylinders.
Abstract: In vehicles, it is usual that vibrations and noise occurring in the vehicle engine and transmission are propagated to the gear change lever via a transmission rod. To surmount these problems, an improved transmission rod consists of two axially separated parts, which are connected to each other via an articulation allowing transfer of both angular and axial movement between the rod parts. A spring element is arranged in a radial direction on each side of the articulation. The spring elements are in mutual co-action via a stiff connection which surrounds the spring elements and the articulation and is separated from the transmission rod parts by the spring elements.

Abstract: In a friction clutch between an engine and a gearbox, a clutch release bearing is premounted in a clutch portion connected to the engine and an axially displaceable sleeve piston cooperating with the clutch release bearing is premounted in a release mechanism connected to the gearbox. The sleeve piston comprises a companion flange assembly which cooperates with a blocking element to assume a position for either displacing or not displacing the clutch release bearing. Such an arrangement is used in a so-called pull type clutch, which requires connection between the clutch release bearing and the release mechanism when the engine is connected to the gearbox. The present invention permits simple and secure assembly and disassembly of the engine to the gearbox and the clutch release bearing to the release mechanism.
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for controlled damping of pivoting movements, preferably in an articulated bus. The arrangement comprises hydraulic dampers arranged between the vehicle units, a hydraulic control system which connects the dampers with each other, and an electrical control system which activates electrically operated valves in the hydraulic control system. The invention is characterized essentially in that it comprises devices which allows the electrical control system, in response to sensors which sense the pivot angle and the vehicle speed, to connect various throttles in the connecting lines between the dampers, to thereby control the damping level of the dampers.

Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for extending the fenders on a vehicle body equpipped with a trim detail gripping round an edge of the body at the wheel housing opening.Modification to the wheel suspension of a motor vehicle can require increasing the width of the vehicle at the wheels, which requires an increase of the body width. Fitting fender extenders to the body by means of welding or screwing results in considerable operations on the body, the original rust protection of which is thus deteriorated. The present invention has the object of increasing the body width of a vehicle by fitting fender extenders and/or similar body members. Fitting is readily performed and requires no operations to be made on the body itself.
Abstract: A cartridge unit included in an ignition system of an internal combustion engine includes an upper metal part which is securable to an adjacent part of the engine and a plurality of finger-like connection casings, one for each spark plug, detachably mounted to and extending from the upper part. The connection casings and the upper part, when attached to each other, form an essentially closed inner space encapsulating a high tension block which includes a plurality of ignition coils for generating ignition voltage.
Abstract: A control device for producing electrical signals which correspond to manual movements of a stick part and which are used for adjustment of a controlled element has a relatively stationary body part with a hand supporting surface and a stick projecting outward from that surface to be embraced by an operator's hand. The stick comprises a laterally swingable outer stick part end-to-end with an inner stick part fixed to the body. A rod-like spring element in a chamber in the stick has an end portion fixed to each stick part to swingably connect the outer stick part of the inner one and bias the outer one to a neutral position. A signal emitting device in the chamber is mounted alongside the spring element and is operatively connected with it.
Abstract: An arrangement for hydraulic pressure feed to self-adjusting hydraulic valve pushers in an internal combustion engine has a number of valves arranged in line in the engine cylinder head. The valve pushers are actuable by a cam shaft rotatably mounted in a number of bearings mounted on the cylinder head above the valves and the valve pushers. For providing the valve pushers and cam shaft bearings with satisfactory hydraulic pressure feed via a passage system limited in the cylinder head, in a simple and inexpensive way, the pressure oil is fed via a distribution conduit running along the line of valves and having a number of branch conduits. Each branch conduit extends in a plane at right angles to the cam shaft through one of its bearings, for pressure feed to said bearing and to at least one valve pusher. Each branch conduit preferably connects to a pocket formed in the cylinder head connecting the bearings of two valve pushers to each other.
Abstract: The invention relates to an ignition cassette unit for an ignition system for a multi-cylinder Otto-type four-stroke engine equipped with at least one spark plug per cylinder, the ignition system including for each spark plug an ignition device (61,62) connectible to said spark plug in the engine substantially without cables, the ignition system also incorporating a control unit (8) sending signals in response to the engine operating conditions for triggering sparks at the spark plugs in a predetermined order. In order to ensure, in such ignition sytems, transmission of maximum ignition voltage to the engine spark plugs and enable simple and safe handling of the ignition system during service the the like, the invention is mainly distinguished in that the ignition devices (61,62) to at least two adjacent spark plugs are included in a common, handleable unit, a so-called ignition cassette (70).
