  • Patent number: 5795116
Abstract: A rotatable device, such as a screw, a bolt, etc., comprises a cylindrical clip (4) inserted into a bore (3) in the head of the rotatable device. The clip (4) is compressed to a certain extent when inserted into the bore in order to confer to the clip a springing effect on the wall of the bore. Further, the clip comprises a socket for the insertion of a suitable turning key. When turning the key, only a maximum torque is transferable to the rotatable device. If this value is exceeded, the clip starts sliding in the bore.

  • Patent number: 5778537
Abstract: Chain saw guide bar and method of using a guide bar for spraying liquid on a sawn surface through a plurality of orifices formed in a guide bar side plate. The liquid is introduced into an inlet portion of a passage formed in a center plate of the guide bar and is conducted forwardly to the orifices. The liquid is sprayed from the orifices at equal pressures, and in spray directions having a component oriented parallel to a centerline of the guide bar. Thus, by adjusting the velocity of the sprayed liquid, the length dimension of the area sprayed can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5743681
Abstract: An indexable cutting insert for metal machining, in particular turning, is formed with banana- or C-shaped protrusions (11) adjacent to each operative cutting corner. The concave side of the protrusion faces in a direction towards the cutting corner. In comparison with corresponding inserts without such a protrusion a better chip control is achieved. Thus, the chip flow is led away from the machined surface both at small and large cutting depths and the chips are broken into suitable lengths.

  • Patent number: 5729882
Abstract: A saw chain of a chain saw has its side links and center links interconnected by rivets. Prior to being staked, each rivet is in blank form and includes a cylindrical flange and a pair of barrels extending from opposite sides of the flange along a center axis thereof. Each barrel includes an axially inner cylindrical section and a tapered axially outer section. When the rivet is staked, the center section of each barrel fills a cylindrical portion of a hole formed in a respective side link, and the tapered section fills a chamfered portion of the hole to form a rivet head. The staked rivet bears against a wall of the cylindrical portion of the hole with a greater force than that with which the rivet bears against a wall of the tapered portion of the hole.

  • Patent number: 5729823
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cemented carbide insert, comprising a cemented carbide substrate and a coating. The substrate contains WC and cubic carbonitride phase in a binder phase based of Co and/or Ni and has a binder phase enriched surface zone essentially free of cubic phase. The binder phase enriched surface zone prevails over the edge. As a result, an insert according to the invention has improved edge toughness and resistance against plastic deformation and is particularly useful for machining of sticky work piece materials such as stainless steel.
