Abstract: An in-counter or in-wall dispenser including a product housing and a cover is disclosed. The cover is pivotally mounted so as to pivot between an open position providing access to the interior volume defined by the product housing for loading a new stack of sheet products and a closed position so that the sheet products are only accessible through a dispensing opening in the cover for one at a time dispensing of sheet products from the product housing. First and second tab-like members project from an interior surface of the product housing into the interior volume. With the cover open, the first and second tab-like members engage in a margin or border area of a front face of the sheet products positioned closest to the dispensing opening to hold at least the engaged part of the sheet products spaced from an interior surface of the anterior cover.

Abstract: An absorbent article including at least two stacked absorbent pads which are releasably attached to each other, one being a first, user facing, absorbent pad and another being a second, garment facing, absorbent pad. The absorbent pads each have a liquid permeable topsheet; a backsheet; a first and second end region and a central region in the longitudinal direction; first and second lateral margins; and first and second transverse margins. The first and second absorbent pads are releasably attached to each other by joints along at least part of the respective first and second lateral margins in at least one of said end regions. The first and second absorbent pads are furthermore unattached from each other in an unattached region along at least a part of the transverse margins in the end region including the joints along the lateral margins. The first absorbent pad has a greater width, at least between the joints along the lateral margins in the end region, than the second absorbent pad.

Abstract: An absorbent article in the form of pants includes: an absorbent core having two longitudinal edges and two transverse edges, and a pant part. The pant part includes a covering layer, a front section, a back section and an intermediate crotch section, wherein the front and back sections are connected to one another along two opposing longitudinal lateral edges to form a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. The absorbent core is arranged at least in the crotch section and connected to the covering layer on the side of the covering layer that is intended to face the wearer. The pant part includes at least one low-opacity area, which has an opacity that is lower than 50%. The article also includes a liquid-tight coloured barrier layer placed between said absorbent core and covering layer.

Abstract: A tissue paper web composed of one or more layers. At least one layer includes pulp fibers originating from at least one plant belonging to the genus Miscanthus wherein the pulp fibers are selected from chemical pulp fibers, mechanical pulp fibers subjected to a chemical pretreatment and mixtures thereof. The use of Miscanthus pulp fibers can lead to a major absolute increase in tensile strength along with good softness values.

Abstract: A composition including a buffered lactic acid having a pH within the range of from 3.0 to 6.5 is disclosed. The composition is a lubricant composition and has a water activity of from 0.03 to 0.60. The friction between the absorbent product and the skin/mucous membrane of the user is reduced when in contact with the skin or mucous membrane of the user. An additional advantage is that the composition has a pH in the acidic range which is close to the pH of the skin and/or mucous membrane.

Abstract: A pant-type absorbent article includes a front and a back portion, longitudinally extending side seams and a connecting portion between the front and back portions. The connecting portion forms a crotch region and leg openings. Part of the front portion, back portion, and the connecting portion is made of an elastic laminate extending transversely across the front, back and connecting portions. Elongated leg elastic members extend along the leg openings in at least part of the connecting portion and terminate at a distance from the respective side seam thus leaving an area corresponding to a peripheral length of at least 50 mm along the respective leg opening where the leg elastic members are absent and wherein the connecting portion in the area where the leg elastic members are absent is made of the elastic laminate in at least 90% of the peripheral length.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing absorbent sheet products includes a store with an absorbent web which is to be dispensed; a conveying mechanism for feeding the absorbent web; a severing mechanism for severing the web so as to form absorbent sheet products; a first collecting mechanism in direct contact with at least one of a roller of the conveying mechanism and the severing mechanism for collecting negative electrical charges; a second collecting mechanism in direct contact with the absorbent web for collecting positive electrical charges from the web; and a conductive material in direct contact with the first collecting mechanism and the second collecting mechanism. The conductive material, the first collecting mechanism, and the second collecting mechanism are configured such that the negative electrical charges of the first collecting mechanism and the positive electrical charges of the second collection mechanism are mutually cancelled.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining presence of an object to be tidied in a washroom. A beam is supplied to a surface of the washroom at a first location. A reflected beam received from the surface of the washroom or received from an object in the path of the beam to the surface is detected. The presence of the object is determined from feedback from the beam based on a comparison of the feedback with a detection result when the beam reflects from the surface at the first location. An object to be tidied output signal is issued indicating that an object to be tidied is present based on the determination on the presence of an object.

Abstract: A method for detecting and conveying an alarm signal, when an absorbent article is unfastened or, completely removed from the body of the wearer. The method is intended to be used in parallel with a method for detecting wetness in the absorbent article and further relates to an integrated detection-and-alarm method for detecting unfastening and/or wetness in an absorbent article. A system for detecting and conveying an alarm signal when an absorbent article is unfastened or removed from the body of the wearer and/or when the article is wet. The system includes (a) and absorbent article having at least one absorbent layer, the object to be displaced, such as a fastening system, one or more sensoring devices, one or more transmitting devices, and (b) a remote receiver. Furthermore, the system relates to the use of the system in the care of children and adults suffering from incontinence and/or psychological illnesses.

Abstract: An absorbent article, the absorbent article being a personal hygiene article, includes a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, an absorbent core enclosed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a fluid flow control member arranged between the top sheet and the backsheet. The fluid flow control member is a spacer fabric including a top layer, a bottom layer and an interconnecting layer of pile filaments between the top layer and the bottom layer. The spacer fabric has a ratio of thickness to basis weight at 15 kPa of at least 1.5·10?5 m/gsm, as measured according to the Mecano-method disclosed herein.

Abstract: A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer is provided. The method includes obtaining, by way of a mobile device, intake information indicative of intake of fluid and/or solid material by the wearer, obtaining, by way of the mobile device, voiding information indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, predicting, based on the intake and voiding information, future voiding by the wearer, and providing, by way of the mobile device, product-related information based on the prediction. In this way, the product-wearer or his caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product.

Abstract: A method for determining the location of a fecal insult, includes: detecting the concentration of at least one gas indicative of feces at a plurality of locations in a defined space; and determining whether said concentration of said gas exceeds a predetermined first threshold value. The method includes: detecting the concentration of hydrogen gas at each of said locations; detecting the concentration of at least one further gas component being indicative of feces in said space; and determining that a fecal insult has occurred in a location where said detected concentration of hydrogen gas exceeds said first threshold value, provided that the detected concentration of said further gas component also exceeds a predetermined second threshold value in said location.

Abstract: Absorbent product having a liquid permeable surface and a liquid impermeable opposite surface, the absorbent product including an odor control material, the odor control material including a carrier material and a plurality of odor control particles adhered to the carrier material. The carrier material has a first surface located towards the liquid permeable surface of the absorbent product and a second opposite surface located towards the liquid impermeable surface of the absorbent product. The plurality of odor control particles are bonded to the second surface of the carrier material with a water soluble binder substance wherein the binder substance at least partly dissolves when in contact with an aqueous solution.

Abstract: A method of detecting urine and/or feces is disclosed, which includes detecting the concentration of at least one gas component indicative of urine and the concentration of at least one gas component indicative of feces. The method also includes registering, for each gas component, a characteristic corresponding to the variation over time of the concentration of each gas component; comparing the registered characteristic with a predetermined characteristic for the corresponding gas component; indicating a presence of urine if the registered characteristic of at least one gas component indicative of urine generally conforms with the predetermined characteristic of the same gas component; and indicating a presence of feces if the registered characteristic of at least one gas component indicative of feces generally conforms to the predetermined characteristic of the same gas component. A system for detecting urine and/or feces is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hygienic sheet material dispenser includes a housing with a dispensing opening, a compartment for a sheet material product, a first sensor arranged to assume an active mode in which it scans for the presence of a user, a dispensing motor arranged to drive a driving mechanism, a second sensor for sensing when a piece of said product has been removed, and a microcontroller connected to the first sensor, the second sensor and the dispensing motor, said dispenser also being configured to be switched to a passive mode. The dispenser is arranged to switch to the passive mode after a first predetermined period of time has elapsed in the active mode without detection of a user; wherein, upon entering the passive mode, a length of said product is fed from the dispenser out of the dispensing opening and the first sensor and the microcontroller are substantially deactivated; and wherein the dispenser is arranged to switch back to the active mode when the second sensor senses that said product has been removed.

Abstract: A sanitary article such as a sanitary napkin, a panty liner, a diaper, an incontinence pad, includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a backsheet and a fibrous layer enclosed between the topsheet and backsheet. The fibrous layer consists essentially of non-absorbent fibers and the topsheet includes a dry coating containing a) an organic acid, having a pKa value not exceeding 5.5, and/or a salt thereof and b) a surface active agent.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing absorbent sheet products includes a store with an absorbent web which is to be dispensed, a conveying mechanism with at least one conveying element for feeding the absorbent web and a mechanism for severing the web so as to form absorbent sheet products. The apparatus further includes a mechanism for collecting electrical charges caused by static electricity, a mechanism for directing electrical charges to another element within the apparatus for dispensing, and a mechanism for neutralising or consuming the electrical charges.

Abstract: A dispenser for on-demand dispensing of a length of belt material and a first hook material patch is provided. The dispenser includes a first holder for a roll or a stack of continuous belt material, a dispensing outlet for the belt material, a separating element for separating the length of belt material from the roll or the stack of continuous belt material, a second holder for at least the first hook material patch, and a hook material patch providing device. The hook material patch providing device is arranged to cooperate with the second holder to dispense the first hook material patch. There is further provided a method of on-demand dispensing a belt.
