Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for controlling a downhole tool by encoding a tool control signal in a fluid flow and obtaining a temperature response downhole. In an example, a system for controlling a downhole tool includes a signal transmitter, a signal receiver, and a controller. The signal transmitter is uphole of the tool to be controlled (e.g., at surface) and encodes the tool control signal by varying one or more fluid flow parameters of a fluid flow down a well. The signal receiver is positionable in the well in fluid communication with the fluid flow. The signal receiver detects a temperature response in the fluid flow resulting from varying the one or more fluid flow parameters. A controller controls the downhole tool according to the temperature response.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments may provide a password-less user authentication mechanism that enables users to be authenticated for accessing an online service. The online service may be, for example, a website that provides a service. A user registers with the online service and then is given a private cryptographic key that is used to gain access to the online service. The exemplary embodiments enable the creation of subaccounts that are affiliated with an account. At least one offspring cryptographic key pair for user authentication may be generated for each subaccount. The offspring cryptographic key pairs are derived from the primary cryptographic key pair for user authentication that is associated with the account. The offspring key cryptographic key pairs are used to gain access to the online service via a subaccount. Each subaccount may have different modes of access. Each subaccount may have different authorizations relative to use of the online service.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for an access control system that may receive, from a device associated with a cryptography-based storage application, a blockchain operation request. The blockchain operation request may include an identifier of a cryptographic token (e.g., non-fungible token) that may store encrypted verification data encrypted using a public key associated with the cryptography-based storage application. The access control system may use an address associated with the cryptography-based storage application to send the verification data so that the verification data is decrypted and a first encoding of the decrypted data is generated by the device associated with the cryptography-based storage application. The access control system may then compare that first encoding with a second encoding made from the original verification data, and, based on the first encoding matching the second encoding, generate an authentication confirmation.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and techniques for monitoring for monitoring and evaluating conditions associated with a wellbore and wellbore operations that use neural operators instead of computationally intensive iterative differential equations. Such systems and techniques allow for determinations to be made as operations associated with a wellbore are performed. Instead of having to wait for computationally intensive tasks to be performed or take risks of proceeding with a wellbore operation without real-time evaluations being performed, these wellbore operations may be continued while determinations are timely made, thus improving operation of computing systems that perform evaluations and that make decisions regarding safely and efficiently performing wellbore operations such as drilling a wellbore, cementing wellbore casings in place, or injecting fluids into formations of the Earth.

Abstract: Electric motors are used in oil and gas applications to drive downhole submersible pumps. Upon shutdown of such pumps, a column of fluid remains thereabove. When power is removed, the fluid flows back down the casing causing the motor to rotate backward and generate a voltage that is applied up the power cable to the surface. If the motor is restarted before backspin ceases, damage to the drive shaft is likely. Additionally, the up-hole applied voltage during backspin can pose a shock-risk to personnel at the surface. The present systems and methods minimize these risks by identifying backspin events based on determining phase angle differences at the three phases of the permanent magnet motors and alerting relevant personnel and otherwise preventing re-initiation of motor operation until after backspin has ceased.

Abstract: The invention provides a method involving assessing the vitamin C renal leak status of a human subject, vitamin C renal leak being the clinically inappropriate presence of vitamin C in urine. The method comprises assaying for the concentration of vitamin C in a plasma sample and in collected urine output, whereby the presence of vitamin C in the collected urine output and a concentration of vitamin C in the plasma sample less than the Minimum Elimination Threshold (MET) indicates the presence of vitamin C renal leak. Vitamin C renal leak also can be quantified by determining the fractional excretion of vitamin C (FeVC), which is a measurement of the degree of urinary vitamin C excretion relative to plasma vitamin C concentration corrected by creatinine clearance. The invention also provides a test kit for assessing vitamin C renal leak and a test kit for assessing FeVC.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to system and method for identifying suitable equipment for pelletizations of particles. Conventional approaches for identifying pelletization equipment for a process are cumbersome and unmethodical. Even though, methods of identifying optimal operating conditions in a particular equipment for a desired product specification are widely discussed in literature, these research works lack in considering practical criteria like equipment cost, equipment capacity, equipment maintenance, etc., in addition to product specifications while deciding a suitable pelletization equipment. Present disclosure provides system and method that involve optimization to identify the best range of operating parameters in a pelletization equipment to achieve desired product size distribution for a given feed size distribution.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a hydraulic fracturing system that includes a blender unit. The system includes an auger and hopper assembly to receive proppant from a proppant source and feed the proppant to the blender unit for mixing with a fluid. A first power source is used to power the blender unit in order to mix the proppant with the fluid and prepare a fracturing slurry. A second power source independently powers the auger and hopper assembly in order to align the hopper of the auger and hopper assembly with a proppant feed from the proppant source. Thus, the auger and hopper assembly can be stowed or deployed without use of the first power source, which is the main power supply to the blender unit.
