Abstract: If, in the printing window displayed on the display according to the printer driver, the information processor is instructed to start printing, the control unit activates a program, displaying the main setting window at the front of the display. The main setting window shows images of resource saving buttons and a start decision button. Each of the resource saving buttons enables a user to select a printing function that can contribute to a resource saving more effectively than the already selected printing function or functions. The start decision button enables the user to decisively instruct the information processor to start the printing.

  • Publication number: 20100265409
Abstract: In a conventional technology in which a film mode is determined when IP (interlace/progressive) conversion processing is performed, a large number of frame memory sections, that is, a large amount of memory is required and increases the cost, and it has been difficult to perform stable IP conversion processing on a pull-down signal other than a video signal, having a regularity. A film mode determination apparatus uses one frame memory section (for storing the image of a previous frame) to calculate the correlation between the images of the current frame and the previous frame and stores only an average of the correlation values of images of past several frames and the determination result (I bit) of the average. Consequently, with a small amount of memory and a simple circuit configuration, the film mode determination apparatus can determine whether input image is a 32 pull-down signal, a 22 pull-down signal, or a video signal.

  • Patent number: 7814761
Abstract: An air conditioner according to the present invention prevents freezing of an outdoor heat exchanger in heating operation. A refrigeration cycle is formed by sequentially connecting a compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, an indoor heat exchanger 3, a pressure reducing device 4, and an outdoor heat exchanger 5. In the refrigeration cycle, a high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant compressed by the compressor 1 flows through a receiver tank 6 before supplied for indoor heating. The receiver tank 6 is placed in the outdoor heat exchanger 5, and thus heat from the receiver tank 6 through which the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant flows can be used to prevent freezing of a fin or a tube 10 in the outdoor heat exchanger 5, thereby ensuring heating performance.

  • Patent number: 7817171
Abstract: A control section is disclosed which divides a display screen into small regions, evaluates the relative brightness of each of the small regions in accordance with color data to be inputted as color data by which each pixel is displayed, and determines whether or not the display screen has a first small region that is brighter than the other small regions by a predetermined degree. Furthermore, the control section causes a first generating device to generate gradation data for use in the first small region, and causes a second generating device to generate gradation data for use in the other small regions. Even if the second generating section receives the same color data as the first generating section does, the second generating section limits the luminance of a W sub-pixel as compared to the first generating section. With this, the first small region can be displayed more strikingly brightly, so that a clearer, more realistic, and more appealing image can be displayed.

  • Patent number: 7817509
Abstract: There is provided an optical pickup apparatus and a beam splitter which are capable of suppressing an adverse effect resulting from light reflected by a non-light-condensed layer that is different from a light-condensed layer. In respective TES light-receiving sections, interposed light-receiving elements are disposed so as to be adjacent to first sub beam-receiving elements. The interposed light-receiving elements are disposed away from both of positions where a main beam reflected by a light-condensing recording layer is condensed and where respective sub beams reflected by the light-condensing recording layer are condensed, and disposed so as to be adjacent to the first sub beam-receiving elements. The interposed light-receiving elements receive the main beam reflected by a non-light-condensing recording layer In a compensating section, results of light received by the first sub beam-receiving elements are compensated based on results of light received by the interposed light-receiving elements.

  • Patent number: 7817897
Abstract: An original stream file and an after-recording data file are managed as different files. In the original stream file, data is made up of sets of partial data (CU) divided in accordance with a predetermined interval. Likewise, in the after-recording data file, data is made up of sets of partial data (CA) divided in accordance with a predetermined interval. These sets of data are recorded onto a disc such that the after-recorded data (CA) is recorded in a region adjacent to a relevant original stream (CU). This allows reproduction and real-time after-recording with the use of a general MPEG-2 PS/TS decoder. Moreover, this allows realization of data recording that causes less interruption of reproduction when non-destructive editing is carried out with respect to an after-recorded result.

  • Patent number: 7817942
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an ink image forming section, an irradiation section, an intermediate transfer section, a transfer section, a recoding medium feed section and a discharge section. When forming an image, the ink image forming section is irradiated with light by the irradiation section according to image information transmitted from an external device to form an electrostatic latent image, and the ink image forming section feeds an ink to the obtained electrostatic latent image to form an ink image. The ink image obtained is intermediately transferred to the intermediate transfer section, and then transferred to a recording medium by the transfer section. The recording medium is fed to the transfer section by the recording medium feed section, and after the ink image is transferred, the recording medium is discharged to an outside of the image forming apparatus by the discharge section.
