    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an ink image forming section, an irradiation section, an intermediate transfer section, a transfer section, a recoding medium feed section and a discharge section. When forming an image, the ink image forming section is irradiated with light by the irradiation section according to image information transmitted from an external device to form an electrostatic latent image, and the ink image forming section feeds an ink to the obtained electrostatic latent image to form an ink image. The ink image obtained is intermediately transferred to the intermediate transfer section, and then transferred to a recording medium by the transfer section. The recording medium is fed to the transfer section by the recording medium feed section, and after the ink image is transferred, the recording medium is discharged to an outside of the image forming apparatus by the discharge section.

    Abstract: A portable phone has a main LCD and a SW-LCD, provided on a path of light to be transmitted by the main LCD, which electrically switches between (i) an image to be seen in a single image display mode and (ii) an image to be seen in a multiple image display mode. Furthermore, a first polarization plate serving as a reflective polarization plate is provided between the SW-LCD and the main LCD, and a second polarization plate is provided on a front surface side of the SW-LCD. The SW-LCD has a liquid crystal layer to which a voltage is applied in the multiple image display mode. With this, an image displayed by an image display can be seen from a front direction. In addition, the image displayed by the image display means is blocked by the second polarization plate when the image is seen from the an oblique direction, and outside light from the oblique direction is reflected by the first polarization plate, so that a mirror surface display is carried out.

    Abstract: There is provided a light emitting device which makes it possible to reduce optical loss and improve brightness by increasing a ratio of fluorescent light that is not reabsorbed by a light emitting element while decreasing a ratio of scattered light that is reabsorbed by the light emitting element. Individual faces forming outer faces of the light emitting element 2 are in contact with a bonding member 3 or sealing member 4. The bonding member 3 and the sealing member 4 contain a fluorophor. Emitted light emitted from the faces of the light emitting element 2 is transformed into fluorescent light by the fluorophor. Therefore, the ratio of scattered light that is not transformed from the emitted light into the fluorescent light can be decreased while the ratio of fluorescent light is increased.
