Patent number: 9530384Abstract: In a display device that can use a low frequency drive method, in the case of low frequency drive, in a data correction unit (23) of a display control circuit (200), a pixel grayscale value is set such that the differential value between the potential difference between the pixel electrode and the common electrode when a voltage of positive polarity is applied and the potential difference between the pixel electrode and the common electrode when a voltage of negative polarity is applied becomes larger than during normal drive. With this, a correction amount (shift amount) is made larger during low frequency drive than during normal drive, whereby flickers and ghosting during low frequency drive are prevented.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2013Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kohji Saitoh, Akihisa Iwamoto, Tomohiko Nishimura, Masaki Uehata, Jun Nakata, Masami Ozaki

Patent number: 9531002Abstract: A method is provided for cycling power in a transition metal cyanometallate (TMCM) cathode battery. The method provides a battery with a TMCM cathode, an anode, and an electrolyte, where TMCM corresponds to the chemical formula of AXM1NM2M(CN)Y-d(H2O), where “A” is an alkali or alkaline earth metal, and where M1 and M2 are transition metals. The method charges the battery using a first charging current, or greater. In response to the charging current, a plating of “A” metal is formed overlying a plating surface of the anode. In response to discharging the battery, the “A” metal plating is removed from the anode plating surface. In one aspect, in an initial charging of the battery, a permanent solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer is formed overlying the anode plating surface. In subsequent charging and discharging cycles, the permanent SEI layer is maintained overlying the anode plating surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2015Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc.Inventors: Yuhao Lu, Long Wang, Jong-Jan Lee

Patent number: 9528924Abstract: A photodetection device has an optical module (4) that includes a light source (7), an excitation optical system, and a detection optical system and that two-dimensionally and relatively scans a transparent stage (5) in a first sampling direction and a second sampling direction intersecting the first sampling direction. A scan length in the first sampling direction is longer than a scan length in the second sampling direction. A data sampling unit in the detection optical system performs sampling for a distance of a second sampling interval during scanning in the second sampling direction, and performs sampling for a distance of a first sampling interval shorter than the distance of the second sampling interval during scanning in the first sampling direction. An aperture (10) of the excitation optical system sets a size in the first sampling direction of a spot shape of excitation light from the light source (7) to be smaller than a size in the second sampling direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masaki Tanaka
