Abstract: In a method for controlling tensile stress of a clamping rod, such as a screw or pin, by the axial extension of the rod and the positioning of at least one retaining member, before the rod is released, such that the latter is blocked at the two ends of the useful clamping length with a residual clamping tensile force, measurements are made which represent the elongation of the rod in the stretched state under a measured extension force and of the rod after release in relation to the rod before extension, by comparing values supplied by at least one sensor during extension and after release with a reference value supplied by this sensor before extension, and, on the basis of these data, a residual clamping force in the useful clamping length of the released rod after extension is calculated.
Abstract: A heavy duty composite oil seal with an outer cup and a plastic inner cup. The outer cup includes a major diameter mounting flange portion terminating in a curl, a minor diameter wear sleeve portion, and a transition portion joining the major and minor diameter portions. There is an elastomeric seal body and an embedded stiffener, with the elastomeric seal body having a sealing lip contacting the inner axial surface of the wear sleeve portion. There is a plastic inner cup member with an axial flange substantially co-extensive with the mounting flange and entrapped along the major diameter flange portion between the curl portion and the transition portion of the outer cup. The inner cup also has a radially extending flange that engages a radial portion of the elastomeric seal body. The plastic inner cup member has plural, evenly spaced diagonal braces extending between and joining the axial flange and the radial flange of the inner cup.

Abstract: An electronic drive includes an electro-mechanical brake associated with a direct-current motor. A first valve or diode connects one of the terminals of the direct-current motor with the first electrical terminal of the brake in a forward direction. A second valve or diode connects the other terminal of the direct-current motor with the first electrical terminal of the brake. A second electrical terminal of the brake is at least indirectly connected with a reference voltage.
Abstract: A method and device are provided for sealing a first oil environment, which is located on a first side of a movable piston guided in a hollow chamber, from a second oil environment, which is located on a second side of the piston. The piston can move back and forth in the hollow chamber between the two oil environments in the axial direction by a piston stroke length (d). Two annular seal elements are disposed around the movable piston so as to sealingly contact the inner circumferential wall of the hollow chamber. The annular seal elements are spaced from each other by at least a distance (D) in the axial direction that is greater than or equal to the piston stroke length (d).

The rolling bearing comprises an insert fitted into an open-ended bore made in the axial portion of the inner race.
Abstract: A radial shaft seal includes a seal ring connected to a support ring and having a seal lip that extends radially inwardly. A tension spring urges the seal lip radially inward against a seal raceway during operation of the radial shaft seal. A retaining device retains the tension spring and is radially supported on a rigid inner circumferential wall that radially surrounds the tension spring. The retaining device may be configured to at least one of: (i) limit a widening of the diameter of tension spring caused by centrifugal force to a predetermined upper limit and (ii) prevent the tension spring from flying off during operation at high rotational speeds.
Abstract: A pressure switch comprises a housing having a cavity for conveying a pressurized fluid. The cavity extends from an inlet to an outlet and defines a flow path for the fluid. A pressure-transducing element is provided for measuring the fluid pressure.
