  • Patent number: 4464140
Abstract: The invention refers to a device for torque transmitting interconnection of two shafts (1, 2) or the like. The shafts are at their opposite ends provided with flanges formed as clamping sleeves incorporating inner and outer sleeves (7 and 6 respectively), the inner sleeve of which is clamped against the shaft at a relative axial displacement of the sleeves. Power transmission takes place via a number of axial pegs (5) which extend between recesses in each flange. A part of each recess is situated in each of the inner and outer sleeves whereby a relative rotation of the sleeves is prevented by the pegs, and the resistance of the inner sleeve against clamping is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4463713
Abstract: Hydraulic tappet comprising a first and a second body shaped as a socket defining between them a chamber suited to be filled with a fluid coming from a source through an appropriate duct formed in the said socket bodies; along the said duct is arranged a ball for intercepting the fluid under pressure located in a corresponding conical seat formed in the bottom wall of the second socket and forming the outlet of the duct into the said chamber; in the bottom wall is formed an annular groove housing an elastic ring which partially occludes the said conical seat so as to allow a free movement of the ball inside the seat but not the exit of the ball from the seat.

  • Patent number: 4461592
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for e.g. connecting two shafts (1,2). It comprises an inner sleeve (3) surrounding both shafts, and two outer sleeves (4,6) surrounding the inner sleeve and one shaft each. The inner sleeve is deformed radially inwards into contact with the shafts when the outer sleeves are pressed axially away from each other, whereby sliding occurs in their respective contacts with the inner sleeve. In order to provide a device which does not require access to the end surfaces (12,13) and to avoid protruding parts, pressing the sleeves (4,6) away from each other is made by screws (9) arranged in axially directed threaded bores (8) in the end surface of one of the sleeves (6) and contacting the end surface of the other sleeve (4). The screw heads (10) are accessible from radially outside.

  • Patent number: 4460289
Abstract: A device for interconnection of two members with cylindrical end portions, comprising a sleeve arranged adjacent both end portions and at least one annular member which by means of axial adjustment along a non-cylindrical section of the sleeve brings about a clamping with a consequent frictional engagement against said cylindrical end portions, whereby forces and torque can be transferred by means of the sleeve interconnecting the members, characterized thereby that the non-cylindrical section of the sleeve consists of a section equipped with threads wherein the profiles of both sides of the thread flanks in longitudinal section define equal angles with the axis of the sleeve, and that said threads cooperate with corresponding threads on two annular members which are arranged in connection to each cylindrical end portion and which are axially displaceable relative to each other and to the sleeve without rotating relative to the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4458957
Abstract: A bearing assembly has two relatively rotatable members formed with annular tongues which are interleaved to form a labyrinth passageway seal between the two members. At least a portion of the passageway is defined by frusto conical surfaces on the annular tongues arranged to exert centrifugal force on any foreign matter in the passageway upon relative rotation between the two members so as to urge the foreign matter towards the outer end of the passageway. The labyrinth passageway may comprise portions which are flared in the direction towards the outer end of the passageway, and the annular tongues on one of the members arranged eccentric or non-circular so that the two members exert a pumping action on any foreign matter in the flared portions of the labyrinth passageway upon relative rotation between the two members.

  • Patent number: 4454013
Abstract: Pure ferro-alloy metals are isolated from fine-grained crude oxidic mineral products by reduction melting and subsequent anodic liberation of the iron. The reduction melting is performed in a plasma-heated furnace into which the fine-grained oxide material is blown together with carbon powder and circulating exhaust gas, extremely over-heated in a plasma generator, the quantity of carbon powder being dosed so that most of the alloy metal(s) is converted to carbides during the reduction. After electrolysis, the anode residue will consist primarily of alloy metal carbides from which the metal can be recovered by known methods.

  • Patent number: 4450677
Abstract: A bearing rail is provided extending along each side of the draw frame and spaced laterally from the outer edges of the double upper rollers. At the end of the each rail, in the area when the thread exits from the exit rollers, each rail is provided with two carriers, one of which is provided with a light source and the other which with a light receiving photo-cell. The light source on one side of the drawing frame is arranged in association with the thread being drawn adjacent the photo-cell on the other side so that the light source causes this remote thread to cast a shadow on the photo-cell adjacent to it. Similarly the light source on the other side, the thread remote from it and the photo-cell opposite it are also aligned. The shadow on each photo-cell produces an alternating current which is then independently fed to a circuit and switch means, housed at the inlet end of the bearing rail.
