Abstract: An emulsion of the oil-in-water type is disclosed comprising a natural emulsifier and a stabilizer, the emulsifier being a lecithin or a saponoside and the stabilizer being aloes juice. These emulsions are stable and permit the preparation of cosmetic compositions and pharmaceutical excipients.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for application to the hair contains either (a) at least one compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl or halogen; andR' is hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, carbamylalkyl, mesylaminoalkyl, aminoalkyl, acylaminoalkyl, monoalkylaminoalkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl, piperidinoalkyl, morpholinoalkyl, carbamoyl, acyl or carbalkoxy; or (b) at least one of said compounds having formula I above and at least one benzene or heterocyclic oxidation base. The invention also relates to new couplers of formula I as well as to new indo compounds which result from the coupling of said compounds with an oxidation base. These cosmetic compositions for application to the hair are useful in direct dyeing, oxidation dyeing or simultaneous oxidation and direct dyeing or said hair.

Abstract: Non-ionic products of the formula:R--X-- [C.sub.2 H.sub.3 (OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.n (OH)-- CH.sub.2 --Y--R'in which R and R' denote alkyl or alkenyl radicals having from 6 to 20 carbon atoms, the sum of the numbers of carbon atoms in R and R' being 24 to 32; X denotes an oxygen atom, a sulphur atom or a sulphoxide group; Y denotes a sulphur atom, a sulphoxide group or a methylene group (if Y denotes methylene, the sum of the numbers of carbon atoms in R and R' is 22 to 30); and n denotes an integer or decimal number from 1 to 40 are disclosed. These non-ionic compounds are suitable for use in pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications, in particular for the care of the skin or hair.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for application to human hair or skin contains as a thickening or opacifying agent therefore, the residue of a plant extracted to remove all of at least one of its dye, essential oil, olfactory or therapeutic or cosmetic active principles. The residue is in powder form having a granulometry less than 125 microns and is present in said composition in an amount ranging from 2 to 95 percent by weight based on the total weight of said composition.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for the treatment of the hair and skin comprising, in an aqueous medium, particles of pulverized flowers or flower tops having a granulometry lower than 125 microns and a cohesion agent present in an amount effective to maintain the homogeneity of the composition. The cohesion agent can be a thickening agent, a water-in-oil emulsion or an oil-in-water emulsion.

Abstract: A mixture of vegetable oils is disclosed which is stable to oxidation, contains at least 5% of jojoba oil, the remainder consisting essentially of at least one other vegetable oil which is hazelnut oil, mango oil, coffee bean wax, karite butter, soya oil, palm oil or maize germ oil.

Abstract: A cosmetic of pharmaceutical composition containing an oily phase has as the said oily phase one comprising at least one organo-silicon compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represent a saturated linear alkyl containing 8-16 carbon atoms; Z represents ##STR2## equal 0 or 1. The organo-silicon compound can be present in the composition in an amount ranging from 1 to 100 percent by weight based on the total weight of the composition. When cosmetic or pharmaceutical active components are present in the composition, they are homogeneously distributed therein and such compositions have excellent spreading and feel characteristics. The compositions are usefully employed in topically applied formulations such as milks, creams, oils and lotions.
