  • Patent number: 9077307
Abstract: A two-stage, passive, RC polyphase filter for mm-wave quadrature LO generation is presented. The filter features an innovative, symmetrical layout structure, which is more robust to parasitics than the conventional layout. Layout parasitics which become important at mm-wave frequencies are identified and a compensated. Impedance variations and transfer functions are evaluated considering these dominant parasitics. More than 15 dB improvement in image rejection ratio is achieved in comparison with conventional layouts. Using the inventive techniques more than 35 dB of image rejection ratio over a bandwidth of 6 GHz is demonstrated in an outphasing transmitter at 60 GHz in 40 nm CMOS.

  • Publication number: 20150180436
Abstract: A method for configuring an electronic device having an equalizer suited for processing a numeric audio signal according to an objective equalization improves the equalization of the numeric audio signal. The equalizer has a transfer function that implements a set of band-pass filters having a constant band-pass and a configurable weight in the transfer function. The method provides a set of objective gains representing the objective equalization, with each objective gain corresponding to a respective frequency. The method also determines values of the weights of the band-pass filters that minimize an error evaluated by comparing the set of objective gains to the transfer function. The set of band-pass filters includes at least one pair of band-pass filters having a common central frequency and distinct band-passes. The method also sets the weights of the band-pass filters to the determined values.

  • Patent number: 9065586
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus is arranged to detect, among a plurality of modulated carrier signals of different frequencies, at least one of the modulated carrier signals modulated with a tone burst. A receiver provides a composite signal comprising the plurality of modulated carrier signals received simultaneously. An ADC generates samples of the composite signal, and the samples of the composite signal are divided into a plurality of blocks. The samples of each block are transformed into frequency domain components, and the frequency domain components of each block are divided into a plurality of groups, each group corresponding to a range of frequencies occupied by a different one of the modulated carrier signals. Tone burst detection is performed on each group, and it is determined which of the modulated carrier signals is modulated with the tone burst, according to which of the groups the tone burst is detected in.

  • Publication number: 20150131557
Abstract: Methods of changing a data rate of communication over an interface between a data transmitter and a data receiver are disclosed, wherein the data transmitter is associated with a first processor and transmitting data over the interface and the data receiver is associated with a second processor. The data transmitter transmits and the data receiver receives data over the interface at a first data rate. At the first processor, it is determined to change the first data rate to a second data rate. The data transmitter transmits and the data receiver receives a request to change the first data rate to the second data rate. In response thereto, a response message is transmitted by the data receiver and received by the data transmitter. When the response message comprises an acknowledgement to change the first data rate to the second data rate, the data transmitter transmits and the data receiver receives data over the interface at the second data rate.
