Abstract: Described herein is a novel approach for coarse-grained user geolocation leveraging widely-deployed content delivery networks (CDNs). This method relies on the fact that CDN providers deploy a number of edge servers that are geographically distributed across the world. Many of these edge servers are assigned with unique identifiers that are tied to their location, which can be retrieved by inspecting HTTP responses headers served by these edge servers. As a result, a website can infer coarse-grained user location by asking a user to send an HTTP request to an arbitrary domain that is known being served by a CDN, and inspecting the corresponding responses.

Abstract: An organic compound destruction apparatus and method are provided. In another aspect, a laterally oriented discharge arc generated from an electrode in a reactor, destroys an undesired or contaminant organic molecule in a liquid solution. Another aspect includes a system which uses electrodes and a magnetic field to generate and drive laterally oriented discharge arcs in a reactor to destroy organic compounds, such as PFAS molecules, in a liquid. Another aspect includes using at least one pair of co-axial electrodes submerged in a liquid to concentrate organic contaminants around the center electrode where gas bubbles are generated to capture and transport the contaminants to the plasma region above the liquid surface. Still another aspect includes a system which uses a grid or mesh electrode to create a discharge arc in a plasma chamber to destroy organic compounds, such as PFAS molecules, in a liquid.

Abstract: A composition and method for killing feral hogs: a bait that is attractive to hogs is mixed with a lethal amount of sodium nitrite, along with sufficient base to inhibit decomposition of the sodium nitrite. At sufficiently high pH, encapsulation of the sodium nitrite is not required to inhibit decomposition. In the absence of substantial decomposition, the sodium nitrite itself is not aversive to the pigs, and may even enhance acceptance of the baits by the pigs. Optionally, an anti-emetic compound is added to the mixture to reduce the likelihood the bait will be vomited. Optionally, an additional toxicant such as luteolin is added to the mixture.

Abstract: A method for reacting a liquid phase chemical species includes the steps of providing liquid phase containing at least one liquid phase chemical species, providing a gas phase, and providing a reactor vessel for containing the liquid phase and the gas phase. The liquid phase and the gas phase are placed in the reactor vessel so as to form a liquid-gas interface between the liquid phase and the gas phase within the reactor vessel. A pulsed discharge cathode and anode are provided for creating a pulsed discharge electric field at the liquid-gas interface. A pulsed power input to the pulsed discharge cathode and anode is provided, thereby creating a plasma comprising ions at the liquid-gas interface. A secondary electric field is directed transverse to the liquid-gas interface, wherein the secondary electric field will drive ions from the gas phase into the liquid phase to react with the liquid phase species.

Abstract: Accurate vehicle localization is arguably the most critical and fundamental task for autonomous vehicle navigation. While dense 3D point-cloud-based maps enable precise localization, they impose significant storage and transmission burdens when used in city-scale environments. A highly compressed representation for LiDAR maps, along with an efficient and robust real-time alignment algorithm for on-vehicle LiDAR scans, is proposed here. The proposed mapping framework, requires less than 0.1% of the storage space of the original 3D point cloud map. In essence, mapping framework emulates an original map through feature likelihood functions. In particular, the mapping framework models planar, pole and curb features. These three feature classes are long-term stable, distinct and common among vehicular roadways. Multiclass feature points are extracted from LiDAR scans through feature detection.
