Abstract: Image-processing apparatus and methods to adaptively control a size and/or location of a visual search window used for feature matching in a machine-vision system are described. A search window controller may receive motion vector data and image recognition rate data, and compute a search window size and/or search window location based on the received data. The computed search window size may be a portion of an image frame. The motion vector data and image recognition rate data may be computed from one or more images in a video image sequence. By adaptively controlling search window size and location, an appreciable reduction in data processing burden for feature matching may be achieved.

Abstract: A modulated digital input signal is passed through a conditioning circuit to generate a first input signal. An error amplifier circuit receives the first input signal and a second input signal, and controls the operation of a MOS transistor to generate an output signal that is current modulated. The output signal is sensed to generate a feedback signal. A switching circuit selectively applies the feedback signal as the second input signal in response to a transition of the modulated digital input signal from a first logic state to a second logic state. The switching circuit alternatively selectively applies a fixed reference signal as the second input signal to the error amplifier in response to a transition of the modulated digital input signal from the second logic state to the first logic state.
Abstract: A switching converter converts an input signal to a regulated output signal using a switch and a transformer with a primary winding and a secondary winding. A wake up management circuit receives a transformer demagnetization signal and forces by wake up pulses the switch on when the switching converter operates in a burst mode. Sampled values of the transformer demagnetization signal are received. A setting circuit sets a first peak value of the current of the primary winding. A comparison circuit compare the sampled values with a voltage threshold and the preceding sampled value. In response thereto, the first peak value of the primary winding current is either maintained or a new peak value is set.

The microfluidic refill cartridges include a microfluidic delivery member that includes a filter for filtering fluid passed therethrough. The filter may be configured to block particles above a threshold size to prevent blockage in the nozzles. For instance, particles having a dimension that is larger than the diameter of the nozzles can block or reduce fluid flow through the nozzle.

Abstract: A non-volatile memory device includes a memory array with memory cells arranged in rows and columns. Each cell has respective current-conduction regions and a control-gate region. The control-gate regions of the memory cells of a same row are coupled to a control-gate terminal and biased at a respective control-gate voltage. A control-gate decoder selects and biases the control-gate regions of the rows at respective control voltages according to operations to be performed on the memory cells. The current-conduction regions of the memory cells are arranged within a same bulk well, and the control-gate decoder has a number of driver blocks each of which supplies the control-gate voltages to a respective number of rows of the array. The driver blocks are provided in respective biasing wells, separate and distinct from one another.

Abstract: An integrated device for adjusting dimming of LEDs includes a law memory storing a switching control law for LEDs. A modulated-clock generator coupled to an output of the law memory generates a modulated-clock signal having a parameter that varies according to the stored switching control law. A count stage coupled to an output of the modulated-clock generator generates a variable-frequency count signal. A comparator has an input coupled to an output of the count stage and compares the count signal with a setting value to generate a control signal for a LED channel that switches when the count signal reaches the setting value.
Abstract: A mirror micromechanical structure has a mobile mass carrying a mirror element. The mass is drivable in rotation for reflecting an incident light beam with a desired angular range. The mobile mass is suspended above a cavity obtained in a supporting body. The cavity is shaped so that the supporting body does not hinder the reflected light beam within the desired angular range. In particular, the cavity extends as far as a first side edge wall of the supporting body of the mirror micromechanical structure. The cavity is open towards, and in communication with, the outside of the mirror micromechanical structure at the first side edge wall.

Abstract: A safety system monitors faults in an embedded control system. The embedded control system is modeled to produce one or more model check values by calculating how many clock cycles will pass between an initialization time point and at least one event time point for a specific event. The initialization time point is a certain point in an initialization function of a scheduler in the embedded control system. The at least one event time point is an expected number of clock cycles to pass before a specific event occurs. In operation, the embedded control system is initialized, a current clock cycle counter value is retrieved at a certain point in the initialization, and either an occurrence or an absence of an occurrence of a scheduled event is recognized. A current clock cycle value is recorded upon the recognition, and a mathematic check value is produced from the clock cycle value stored at the certain point in the initialization and the clock cycle value recorded upon the recognition.

Abstract: In a signal processing chain producing an analog output signal from a digital input signal, dynamic range control applies to the analog output signal a dynamic range control gain as a function of an input gain applied to the digital input signal. The dynamic range control gain is applied to the analog output signal with a delay relative to the input gain applied to the digital input signal. A first flag signal is generated for the analog output signal and a second flag signal for the digital input signal, each flag assuming first and second levels and set to the first level when the signal from which the flag is generated is within a certain amplitude range. The first and second flag signals are compared and delay of application of the dynamic range control gain to the analog output signal controlled as a function of a result of the comparison.
