Abstract: Ball grid array to pin grid array conversion methods are provided. An example method can include coupling a plurality of solder balls to a respective plurality of pin grid array contact pads. Each of the plurality of solder balls is encapsulated in a fixed material. A portion of the plurality of solder balls and a portion of the fixed material is removed to provide a plurality of exposed solder balls. The exposed solder balls are softened and each of a plurality of pin members is inserted in a softened, exposed, solder ball. The plurality of pin members forms a pin grid array package.
Abstract: A dynamic random access memory device may include DRAM memory cells including several lines of memory cells, and line selection circuitry associated with each line. The line selection circuitry may include a first voltage-elevator stage configured to receive two initial control logic signals each having an initial voltage level corresponding to a first logic state, and to deliver two intermediate control logic signals each having an intermediate voltage level above the initial level and corresponding to the first logic state. The line selection circuitry may also include a control circuit to be supplied by PMOS transistors with a supply voltage having a second voltage level greater than the intermediate voltage level, and configured to, in the presence of the two intermediate control logic signals have their first logic state deliver to the gates of the memory cell transistors, a selection logic signal having the second voltage level.
Abstract: An image processing device including an encoder processor and a decoder circuit. The encoder processor receives image data from a sensor and encodes the data with padding data if a series of bytes indicative of command sequence occur within the image data. The decoder circuit receives the image data and the padding data, and removes the padding data from within the image data.

Abstract: An embodiment of an electronic device having a plurality of operative parameters is provided. The electronic device includes means for applying a plurality of trimming actions to each parameter for causing a corresponding correction of the parameter, for at least one reference parameter, means for measuring the reference parameter responsive to the application of at least part of the trimming actions, and means for forcing the application of the selected trimming action for the reference parameter. For each non-reference parameter different from the at least one reference parameter, the electronic device includes means for selecting one of the trimming actions for the non-reference parameter corresponding to the selected trimming action for the at least one reference parameter, and means for forcing the application of the selected trimming action for each non-reference parameter.

Abstract: A method of estimating log-likelihood ratios for first and second streams of samples of a received S-FSK signal demodulated using first and second carriers includes estimating channel and noise parameters associated with first and second transmitted values for the first and second streams of samples obtained from the received S-FSK modulated signal. Current signal-to-noise ratios are estimated for current samples of the first and second streams of samples obtained from the received S-FSK modulated signal using the channel and noise parameters. The estimated current signal-to-noise ratios are compared with values of a discrete ordered set and respective pairs of consecutive values of the discrete ordered set between which the estimated current signal-to-noise ratios are comprised are identified. Log-likelihood ratios are estimated for the current samples of the first and second streams.

Abstract: A method of controlling a pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage regulator including a control circuit of a power stage, and a circuit configured to determine a duration of charge phases and further configured to receive a charge signal and to generate a logic command may include controlling, using the control circuit, switches of the power stage as a function of the logic command at an end of a charge phase and at a start of a discharge phase of an output capacitance. The method may also include generating the charge signal to be one of enabled and disabled during charge phases and another of enabled and disabled during discharge phases, and delaying, at each PWM cycle, the logic command with respect to a previous PWM cycle to compensate at least one of a phase and a frequency difference between each PWM cycle and a reference clock signal.
Abstract: Digital noise removal methods and systems for picture quality improvement on next generation high quality set-top-box and digital TV SOCs is disclosed with particular to a de-blocking method and system that is effective on on-grid and off-grid blocky artifacts generated by lossy video compression standards. Blocky artifacts are filtered by extracting motions vectors for a current pixel block, calculating off-grid positions based on the extracted motion vectors, and applying de-blocking filtering along the calculated off-grid positions. The methods and systems can further skip filtering on-grid blocky artifacts to be filtered by an on-grid de-blocking filter known in the art.

Displacement of the membrane creates pressure to jet or eject liquid from the cavity and suction liquid into the cavity through ports or apertures formed in the in membrane.

The optical detection sensor be a proximity detection sensor that includes an optical system and a selectively transmissive structure. Electromagnetic radiation such as laser light can be emitted through a transmissive portion of the selectively transmissive structure. A reflected beam can be detected to determine the presence of an object.
Abstract: A battery pack management system provides information such as remaining capacity and/or run time to empty for a battery. A time taken for a battery voltage to drop a threshold amount is measured and used to determine a remaining capacity of the battery. The time may be associated with a temperature and current of the battery. The remaining capacity of a battery is calculated by monitoring a discharge of the battery. For example, current drawn from the battery is monitored over a period of time and an initial amount by which the battery has been discharged is calculated. Compensation of this initial amount is carried out in order to take into account factors such as temperature, self-discharge rate and age of the battery.

The control system includes detecting means for detecting a reaching condition of a predetermined value by a current provided to the load by the converter and control means for controlling the control signal according to the output voltage. The control system further includes disabling means for disabling the supply of the control signal to the control terminal according to the detection of the reaching condition. The disabling means includes selection means for controlling the disabling according to a time relationship between the detection of the reaching condition and the control signal.
