Abstract: A navigation system for a vehicle is disclosed, where the navigation system operates in a route planning mode and a route guidance mode. The navigation system employs an interface device that provides route guidance information to a user during the route guidance mode. The route guidance information provided through the interface device may be audible and/or visual, as through a voice and/or visual indicia on a display screen. The navigation system also comprises a voice control system that responds to vocal commands issued by the user. In response to user vocal commands, the navigation system uses the interface device to provide the user with secondary information relating to a planned route. This secondary information may include, for example, locations and items that are ancillary to principal route guidance functions, such as special locations, map topography, environmental information, and the like.

Abstract: In an electrographic printing device, an image generating system generates an electrical charge image on an image carrier element. The electronic charge image is made visible by a developer station via charged ink particles, the image being subsequently transferred onto a final image medium and fixed thereon. A speed control is provided which: continuously varies speed of the image carrier element from zero up to a limit speed; adapts charge intensity of the image carrier element to its speed; adapts an exposure intensity for exposure according to the image and in a deletion exposure of the image carrier element to its speed; and keeps a supply of toner to the image carrier element constant per area.

Abstract: In a method for the production of window elements which can be soldered into a housing in a hermetically tight manner and of a window element sealing a housing, the object of the invention is to achieve an improved hermetic sealing between window and housing through increased adherence and homogeneity in the metal coating and to prevent penetration of scattered light and unwanted radiation. Optically transparent, flat substrate material whose size is sufficient for a plurality of window elements is provided on at least one surface with an optical coating from which frame-like portions on a coated surface which enclose optically active surfaces of the window elements are subsequently removed, whereupon a metal coating that is used for producing a solder connection to the housing is applied to the generated portions having no coating, and the window elements are separated from the substrate material.

Abstract: A component support having two or more module carriers aligned with each other in a direction across a width of a component support. The module carriers have two insert card guidance devices connected with each other via a support element so that guides of the insert card guidance devices, which extend in the direction of the depth of the component support, form receivers for one or several insert cards. The insert cards are electrically connected to a rear support by plug-in connections, and the module carriers are releasably connected with the support so that the removal of a single arbitrary module carrier from the row of the module carriers is possible. The component can be individually matched in a simple manner to different applications.

Abstract: A method and a device for accessing data wherein the data is sequentially stored as data objects. The data objects are identified by a control variable having consecutive integer values. The control variable and the memory address is determined of a first known data object and an estimate for the size of a data object is determined therefrom. The control variable of the requested data object is multiplied by the estimate, as a result whereof an initial value for a memory address of the requested data object is formed. The actual control variable of the data object stored under the initial value is determined, the search for the requested data object being terminated in the case of correspondence between the actual control variable and the desired control variable, and otherwise the search is continued.
Abstract: In a method and system for transfer printing of an electrostatic recharge toner image from an intermediate carrier onto a recording medium and for fixing of the transfer-printed toner image onto the recording medium, the recording medium lying on an electrostatically-chargeable conveyor belt and adhered thereto by electrostatic forces is transported through a transfer printing region and subsequently along a guided transport section. The recording medium is conveyed to a fixing device. The guided transport section is arranged in a transport unit and the fixing device is arranged in a fixing unit which are independent of one another. The fixing unit has at least one wall designed to hinder a heat transfer from the fixing unit to the transport unit.
