  • Patent number: 9432621
Abstract: A technique is directed to interfacing a user to an online meeting. The technique includes performing an evaluation operation on a set of input/output (I/O) devices available for use by the user during the online meeting, each I/O device of the set being constructed and arranged to perform a same I/O function. The evaluation operation assesses online meeting performance of each I/O device of the set. The technique further includes selecting an I/O device based on a result of the evaluation operation. The technique further includes involving the selected I/O device of the set in the online meeting and excluding a non-selected I/O device of the set from the online meeting. Accordingly, the best suited I/O device can automatically be selected to improve the user experience. In some arrangements, rather than automatically switching I/O devices, the user is automatically prompted with a recommended I/O device to use.

  • Patent number: 9432269
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for lightweight identification of flow information by application. A flow monitor executed by a processor of a device may maintain a counter. The flow monitor may associate an application with the value of the counter and transmit, to a data collector executed by a second device, the counter value and a name of the application. The flow monitor may monitor a data flow associated with the application to generate a data record. The flow monitor may transmit the data record to the data collector, the data record including an identification of the application consisting of the counter value and not including the name of the application. The data collector may then re-associate the data record with the application name based on the previously received counter value.

  • Patent number: 9428276
Abstract: A vehicle passenger seat swivel mechanism connected between a seat frame and a seat base secured to a vehicle body. The swivel assembly can include a swivel axis around which the seat frame rotates and a tracking axis, approximately perpendicular to the swivel axis, along which the seat frame can translate. A guide plate can be disposed on the seat base and has a guide plate rail. A guide follower can be disposed on the seat frame having an engagement surface engaging the guide plate rail. As the seat frame swivels around the swivel axis, the guide follower is displaced along the translation axis, which causes at least the seat frame to displace in the same direction along the translation axis, to at least a first or a second clearance distance from the swivel axis, and the guide plate and the guide follower do not overlap along the swivel axis.

  • Patent number: 9427515
Abstract: A relatively compact protective apparatus for a pressure sensor includes a diaphragm, a plate, and a sleeve that couples the sensor to the apparatus; the diaphragm, whose perimeter edge is attached to the sleeve between the plate and sleeve, forms a compressible cavity in fluid communication, via an opening in the plate, with another cavity formed between the plate and the coupled sensor. A diameter of the diaphragm is relatively small, so the diaphragm includes an undulating zone for enhanced sensitivity in response to pressure. A configuration of the cavities and the opening allows a contained volume of air to transmit a relatively low pressure, via the diaphragm, to the coupled pressure sensor, yet prevents transmission of relatively high pressures to the pressure sensor. A wall of a system fluid circuit line or a manifold connector may be configured to incorporate the protective apparatus therein.

  • Patent number: 9429743
Abstract: A microscope-based system and method for simultaneous imaging of several object planes, of a three-dimensional (3D) sample, associated with different depths throughout the sample. The system includes a polyfocal optical portion, adapted to create a plurality of optical channels each of which is associated with an image of a corresponding object plane, and a spectrally-selective portion, adapted to transform the spectral distribution of the image-forming beam of light to a corresponding spatial distribution. The image, registered by a detector, includes an image of an object plane and an image of the spatially-coded spectral distribution. The method effectuates the simultaneous multispectral imaging of the several object planes. The required data-acquisition time is several fold shorter than that taken by a conventional multispectral microscope-based imaging system.

  • Patent number: 9430695
Abstract: Aspects herein describe methods and systems of receiving, by one or more cameras, images in which the images comprise facial images of individuals. Aspects of the disclosure describe extracting the facial images from the images received, sorting the extracted facial images into separate groups wherein each group corresponds to the facial images of each individual, and selecting, for each individual, a preferred facial image from each group. The preferred facial images selected are transmitted to a client for display. Aspects of the disclosure also describe selecting either a facial recognition algorithm or an audio triangulation algorithm to use to determine which individual is speaking wherein the selection is based on whether lip movement of one or more of the individuals is visible in the images received from the cameras.

  • Patent number: 9430490
Abstract: A method of providing secure storage and access by authorized users of a multi-tenant data storage system that contains deduplicated data; wherein a unique identifier is assigned to a given data object within a data volume catalog; further wherein the unique identifier includes “ownership” of the data object within the object store itself. Each time a data object is stored by a user, the method of the present invention creates an entry within a data association table of the data storage system, which entry denotes the data volume catalog that has executed the data object write. Using the method of the present invention, only a user of a data volume catalog that has actually “written” the data object will be able to access and read the data object. Thereby the method of the present invention affords data security for a multi-tenant, deduplicated data storage system.
