  • Patent number: 8775149
Abstract: A method and mechanism for implementing a general purpose scripting language that supports parallel execution is described. In one approach, parallel execution is provided in a seamless and high-level approach rather than requiring or expecting a user to have low-level programming expertise with parallel processing languages/functions. Also described is a system and method for performing circuit simulation. The present approach provides methods and systems that create reusable and independent measurements for use with circuit simulators. Also disclosed are parallelizable measurements having looping constructs that can be run without interference between parallel iterations. Reusability is enhanced by having parameterized measurements. Revisions and history of the operating parameters of circuit designs subject to simulation are tracked.

  • Patent number: 8770085
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system to enhance the performance of composite armor by utilizing the energy of the threat projectile is disclosed. The frontal member includes, for example, a plurality of concentric proves on the face opposite of the surface that is impacted by a projectile. The grooves in the frontal member preferably may mate with a complimentary plurality of concentric grooves in a backing plate. During impact by a projectile, the force from the projectile presses the grooves of the frontal member into engagement with the grooves of the backing plate. The grooves are uniquely designed to cause the backing plate to impart a compressive load into the backside of the frontal member preventing it from prematurely fracturing in tension at the onset of the projectile penetration.

Abstract: The present solution provides a variety of techniques for accelerating and optimizing network traffic, such as HTTP based network traffic. The solution described herein provides techniques in the areas of proxy caching, protocol acceleration, domain name resolution acceleration as well as compression improvements. In some cases, the present solution provides various prefetching and/or prefreshening techniques to improve intermediary or proxy caching, such as HTTP proxy caching. In other cases, the present solution provides techniques for accelerating a protocol by improving the efficiency of obtaining and servicing data from an originating server to server to clients. In another cases, the present solution accelerates domain name resolution more quickly. As every HTTP access starts with a URL that includes a hostname that must be resolved via domain name resolution into an IP address, the present solution helps accelerate HTTP access.

  • Publication number: 20140189093
Abstract: A TCP connection is established between a client and a server, such that packets communicated across the TCP connection pass through a proxy. Based at least in part on a result of monitoring packets flowing across the TCP connection, the proxy determines whether to split the TCP control loop into two TCP control loops so that packets can be inspected more thoroughly. If the TCP control loop is split, then a first TCP control loop manages flow between the client the proxy and a second TCP control loop manages flow between the proxy and the server. Due to the two control loops, packets can be held on the proxy long enough to be analyzed. In some circumstances, a decision is then made to stop inspecting. The two TCP control loops are merged into a single TCP control loop, and thereafter the proxy passes packets of the TCP connection through unmodified.

  • Publication number: 20140185364
Abstract: Static random access memory (SRAM) circuits are used in most digital integrated circuits to store data. To handle multiple memory users, an efficient dual port six transistor (6T) SRAM memory cell is proposed. The dual port 6T SRAM cell uses independent word lines and bit lines such that the true side and the false side of the SRAM cell may be accessed independently. Single-ended reads allow the two independent word lines and bit lines to handle two reads in a single cycle using spatial domain multiplexing. Writes can be handled faster that read operations such that two writes can be handled in a single cycle using time division multiplexing. To further improve the operation of the dual port 6T SRAM cell a number of algorithmic techniques are used to improve the operation of the memory system.

  • Publication number: 20140187265
Abstract: A mobile IP location server that retrieves the location of a mobile device based on the public IP address that a mobile device is using. A mobile IP location server comprises a mobile location protocol interface, an identifier resolver, and a location manager. The mobile location protocol interface interacts with location applications and receives and responds to location requests. The identifier resolver converts a device's public IP address to a real mobile identifier (e.g. MSISDN) and performs address conversion by either interacting with an HTTP proxy server or querying a network address translation (NAT) table. The location manager retrieves the location of a mobile device given the device's real mobile identifier (e.g. MSISDN). A web application requests mobile IP location services by transmitting an IP request to the mobile IP location server. An IP location request contains a mobile device's public IP address, port number, and any application specific information.
